BAN ¹ Et Jésus prenant la parole, leur parla de nouveau en paraboles, disant :

KJV ¹ And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,

BAN ² Le royaume de Dieu est semblable à un roi qui fit des noces pour son fils.

KJV ² The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

BAN ³ Et il envoya ses serviteurs appeler ceux qui avaient été invités aux noces ; mais ils ne voulurent pas venir.

KJV ³ And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

BAN ⁴ Il envoya encore d'autres serviteurs, en disant : Dites à ceux qui ont été invités : Voici, j'ai préparé mon festin : mes taureaux et mes bêtes grasses sont tués, et tout est prêt ; venez aux noces.

KJV ⁴ Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

BAN ⁵ Mais eux, n'en tenant compte, s'en allèrent, l'un à son champ et l'autre à son trafic ;

KJV ⁵ But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

BAN ⁶ et les autres, ayant saisi ses serviteurs, les outragèrent et les tuèrent.

KJV ⁶ And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

BAN ⁷ Mais le roi se mit en colère, et ayant envoyé ses armées, il fit périr ces meurtriers, et brûla leur ville.

KJV ⁷ But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

BAN ⁸ Alors il dit à ses serviteurs : Les noces sont prêtes, mais ceux qui étaient invités n'en étaient pas dignes.

KJV ⁸ Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

BAN ⁹ Allez donc dans les carrefours des chemins, et invitez aux noces tous ceux que vous trouverez.

KJV ⁹ Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

BAN ¹⁰ Et ces serviteurs s'en étant allés dans les chemins, rassemblèrent tous ceux qu'ils trouvèrent, tant méchants que bons, et la salle des noces fut remplie de convives.

KJV ¹⁰ So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

BAN ¹¹ Et le roi, étant entré pour regarder ceux qui étaient à table, vit un homme qui n'était pas revêtu d'un habit de noces ;

KJV ¹¹ And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

BAN ¹² et il lui dit : Ami, comment es-tu entré ici sans avoir un habit de noces ? Et il eut la bouche fermée.

KJV ¹² And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

BAN ¹³ Alors le roi dit aux serviteurs : Liez-le pieds et mains, et jetez-le dans les ténèbres de dehors ; là seront les pleurs et les grincements de dents.

KJV ¹³ Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

BAN ¹⁴ Car il y a beaucoup d'appelés, mais peu d'élus.

KJV ¹⁴ For many are called, but few are chosen.
