KJV ²⁷ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

S21 ²⁷ »Vous avez appris qu'il a été dit: Tu ne commettras pas d'adultère. 

KJV ²⁸ But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

S21 ²⁸ Mais moi je vous dis: Tout homme qui regarde une femme pour la convoiter a déjà commis un adultère avec elle dans son cœur.

KJV ²⁹ And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

S21 ²⁹ Si ton œil droit te pousse à mal agir, arrache-le et jette-le loin de toi, car il vaut mieux pour toi subir la perte d'un seul de tes membres que de voir ton corps entier jeté en enfer.

KJV ³² But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

S21 ³² Mais moi, je vous dis: Celui qui renvoie sa femme, sauf pour cause d'infidélité, l'expose à devenir adultère, et celui qui épouse une femme divorcée commet un adultère.

S21 ³³ »Vous avez encore appris qu'il a été dit aux anciens: Tu ne violeras pas ton serment, mais tu accompliras ce que tu as promis au Seigneur. 

KJV ³⁴ But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

S21 ³⁴ Mais moi je vous dis de ne pas jurer du tout, ni par le ciel, parce que c'est le trône de Dieu,

KJV ³⁵ Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

S21 ³⁵ ni par la terre, parce que c'est son marchepied, ni par Jérusalem, parce que c'est la ville du grand roi.

KJV ³⁶ Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

S21 ³⁶ Ne jure pas non plus par ta tête, car tu ne peux pas rendre blanc ou noir un seul cheveu.

KJV ³⁷ But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

S21 ³⁷ Que votre parole soit ‘oui' pour oui, ‘non' pour non; ce qu'on y ajoute vient du mal.

KJV ³⁸ Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

S21 ³⁸ »Vous avez appris qu'il a été dit: Œil pour œil et dent pour dent. 

KJV ³⁹ But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

S21 ³⁹ Mais moi je vous dis de ne pas résister au méchant. Si quelqu'un te gifle sur la joue droite, tends-lui aussi l'autre.

KJV ⁴⁰ And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

S21 ⁴⁰ Si quelqu'un veut te faire un procès et prendre ta chemise, laisse-lui encore ton manteau.

KJV ⁴¹ And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

S21 ⁴¹ Si quelqu'un te force à faire un kilomètre, fais-en deux avec lui.

KJV ⁴² Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

S21 ⁴² Donne à celui qui t'adresse une demande et ne te détourne pas de celui qui veut te faire un emprunt.

KJV ⁴³ Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

S21 ⁴³ »Vous avez appris qu'il a été dit: ‘Tu aimeras ton prochain et tu détesteras ton ennemi.'

KJV ⁴⁴ But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

S21 ⁴⁴ Mais moi je vous dis: Aimez vos ennemis, [bénissez ceux qui vous maudissent, faites du bien à ceux qui vous détestent] et priez pour ceux [qui vous maltraitent et] qui vous persécutent,

KJV ⁴⁵ That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

S21 ⁴⁵ afin d'être les fils de votre Père céleste. En effet, il fait lever son soleil sur les méchants et sur les bons, et il fait pleuvoir sur les justes et sur les injustes.

KJV ⁴⁶ For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

S21 ⁴⁶ Si vous aimez ceux qui vous aiment, quelle récompense méritez-vous? Les collecteurs d'impôts n'agissent-ils pas de même?

KJV ⁴⁷ And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

S21 ⁴⁷ Et si vous saluez seulement vos frères, que faites-vous d'extraordinaire? Les membres des autres peuples n'agissent-ils pas de même?

KJV ⁴⁸ Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

S21 ⁴⁸ Soyez donc parfaits comme votre Père céleste est parfait.
