KJV ¹ When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.

BCC ² Et ils ne disent pas en leurs coeurs que je me souviens de toute leur méchanceté. Maintenant leurs forfaits les entourent, ils sont là devant moi.

KJV ² And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.

WLC ² וּבַל־ יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ לִלְבָבָ֔ם כָּל־ רָעָתָ֖ם זָכָ֑רְתִּי עַתָּה֙ סְבָב֣וּם מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם נֶ֥גֶד פָּנַ֖י הָיֽוּ׃

BCC ³ Ils égaient le roi par leur méchanceté, et les princes par leurs mensonges.

BCC ⁴ Ils sont tous adultères, pareils à un four allumé par le boulanger, qui cesse d'attiser le feu, depuis qu'il a pétri la pâte jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit levée.

KJV ⁴ They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.

WLC ⁴ כֻּלָּם֙ מְנָ֣אֲפִ֔ים כְּמ֣וֹ תַנּ֔וּר בֹּעֵ֖רָה מֵֽאֹפֶ֑ה יִשְׁבּ֣וֹת מֵעִ֔יר מִלּ֥וּשׁ בָּצֵ֖ק עַד־ חֻמְצָתֽוֹ׃

BCC ⁵ Au jour de notre roi, les princes se rendent malades par la chaleur du vin ; il a étendu sa main avec les moqueurs.

KJV ⁵ In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.

BCC ⁶ Car, dans leur complot, ils ont mis leurs coeurs comme dans un four. Leur boulanger a dormi toute la nuit ; le matin, il a été embrasé comme une flamme ardente.

KJV ⁶ For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.

BCC ⁷ Tous sont chauffés comme un four, et ils dévorent leurs juges. Tous leur rois sont tombés, sans qu'aucun d'eux ait crié vers moi.

KJV ⁷ They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.

KJV ⁸ Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

WLC ⁸ אֶפְרַ֕יִם בָּעַמִּ֖ים ה֣וּא יִתְבּוֹלָ֑ל אֶפְרַ֛יִם הָיָ֥ה עֻגָ֖ה בְּלִ֥י הֲפוּכָֽה׃

BCC ⁹ Des étrangers ont dévoré sa force, et il ne le sait pas ; des cheveux blancs parsèment sa tête, et il ne le sait pas.

KJV ⁹ Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.

BCC ¹⁰ L'orgueil d'Éphraïm témoigne contre lui : ils ne reviennent pas à Yahweh, leur Dieu et ils ne le recherchent pas, malgré tout cela.

KJV ¹³ Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

KJV ¹ Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

BCC ⁵ Ton veau m'a dégoûté, Samarie ; ma colère s'est enflammée contre eux ; jusques à quand ne pourront-ils être purifiés ?

KJV ⁵ Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?

BCC ⁶ Car il vient d'Israël, lui aussi ; un ouvrier l'a fabriqué, et ce n'est pas un Dieu ; car il sera mis en pièces, le veau de Samarie !

BCC ¹⁰ Même s'ils font des présents aux nations, je les rassemblerai contre eux, et ils trembleront pour un peu de temps, sous le fardeau du roi des princes.

KJV ¹⁰ Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.

KJV ¹⁴ For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

BCC ¹ Ne te livre pas à la joie, Israël, à l'allégresse comme tes peuples ; car tu t'es prostitué loin de ton Dieu, tu as aimé le salaire de la prostituée, sur toutes tes aires à blé.

KJV ¹ Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

WLC ¹ אַל־ תִּשְׂמַ֨ח יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל ׀ אֶל־ גִּיל֙ כָּֽעַמִּ֔ים כִּ֥י זָנִ֖יתָ מֵעַ֣ל אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ אָהַ֣בְתָּ אֶתְנָ֔ן עַ֖ל כָּל־ גָּרְנ֥וֹת דָּגָֽן׃

BCC ² Ni l'aire ni ta cuve ne les nourriront, et le vin nouveau les reniera.

KJV ² The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

BCC ³ Ils n'habiteront pas dans la terre de Yahweh ; Éphraïm retournera en Égypte, et ils mangeront en Assyrie des aliments impurs.

KJV ³ They shall not dwell in the LORD's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.

WLC ³ לֹ֥א יֵשְׁב֖וּ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ יְהוָ֑ה וְשָׁ֤ב אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ מִצְרַ֔יִם וּבְאַשּׁ֖וּר טָמֵ֥א יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃

BCC ⁴ Ils ne feront pas à Yahweh des libations de vin, et leurs sacrifices ne lui seront pas agréables ; ce sera pour eux comme un pain de deuil, ceux qui en mangeront se rendront impurs ; car leur pain sera pour eux-mêmes, il n'entrera pas dans la maison de Yahweh.

KJV ⁴ They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.

KJV ⁵ What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

BCC ⁶ Car voici qu'ils sont partis devant la dévastation, l'Égypte les recueillera. Memphis les ensevelira ; leurs objets précieux d'argent, le chardon s'en emparera ; l'épine envahira leurs tentes.

KJV ⁶ For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.

BCC ⁷ Ils sont venus les jours du châtiment ! ils sont venus les jours de la rétribution ! Israël va le savoir. Le prophète est fou, l'homme de l'esprit est en délire ! A cause de la grandeur de ton iniquité, et de ta grande hostilité.

KJV ⁷ The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

BCC ⁸ La sentinelle d'Éphraïm est avec mon Dieu ; le prophète trouve un filet d'oiseleur sur toutes ses voies, la persécution dans la maison de son Dieu.

KJV ⁸ The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

KJV ¹¹ As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
