KJV ¹ O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

LSG ¹ Louez l'Éternel, invoquez son nom ! Faites connaître parmi les peuples ses hauts faits !

KJV ² Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

LSG ² Chantez, chantez en son honneur ! Parlez de toutes ses merveilles !

KJV ³ Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

LSG ³ Glorifiez-vous de son saint nom ! Que le coeur de ceux qui cherchent l'Éternel se réjouisse !

KJV ⁴ Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

LSG ⁴ Ayez recours à l'Éternel et à son appui, Cherchez continuellement sa face !

KJV ⁵ Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

LSG ⁵ Souvenez-vous des prodiges qu'il a faits, De ses miracles et des jugements de sa bouche,

KJV ⁶ O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

LSG ⁶ Postérité d'Abraham, son serviteur, Enfants de Jacob, ses élus !

KJV ⁷ He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

LSG ⁷ L'Éternel est notre Dieu ; Ses jugements s'exercent sur toute la terre.

KJV ⁸ He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

LSG ⁸ Il se rappelle à toujours son alliance, Ses promesses pour mille générations,

KJV ⁹ Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

LSG ⁹ L'alliance qu'il a traitée avec Abraham, Et le serment qu'il a fait à Isaac ;

KJV ¹⁰ And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

LSG ¹⁰ Il l'a érigée pour Jacob en loi, Pour Israël en alliance éternelle,

KJV ¹¹ Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

LSG ¹¹ Disant: Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan Comme héritage qui vous est échu.

KJV ¹² When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

LSG ¹² Ils étaient alors peu nombreux, Très peu nombreux, et étrangers dans le pays,

KJV ¹³ When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

LSG ¹³ Et ils allaient d'une nation à l'autre Et d'un royaume vers un autre peuple ;

KJV ¹⁴ He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

LSG ¹⁴ Mais il ne permit à personne de les opprimer, Et il châtia des rois à cause d'eux:

KJV ¹⁵ Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

LSG ¹⁵ Ne touchez pas à mes oints, Et ne faites pas de mal à mes prophètes !

KJV ¹⁶ Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

LSG ¹⁶ Il appela sur le pays la famine, Il coupa tout moyen de subsistance.

KJV ¹⁷ He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:

LSG ¹⁷ Il envoya devant eux un homme: Joseph fut vendu comme esclave.

KJV ¹⁸ Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:

LSG ¹⁸ On serra ses pieds dans des liens, On le mit aux fers,

KJV ¹⁹ Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.

LSG ¹⁹ Jusqu'au temps où arriva ce qu'il avait annoncé, Et où la parole de l'Éternel l'éprouva.

KJV ²⁰ The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.

LSG ²⁰ Le roi fit ôter ses liens, Le dominateur des peuples le délivra.

KJV ²¹ He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:

LSG ²¹ Il l'établit seigneur sur sa maison, Et gouverneur de tous ses biens,

KJV ²² To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

LSG ²² Afin qu'il pût à son gré enchaîner ses princes, Et qu'il enseignât la sagesse à ses anciens.

KJV ²³ Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

LSG ²³ Alors Israël vint en Égypte, Et Jacob séjourna dans le pays de Cham.

KJV ²⁴ And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

LSG ²⁴ Il rendit son peuple très fécond, Et plus puissant que ses adversaires.
