⁶ Abram traversa le pays jusqu'au lieu nommé Sichem, jusqu'au chêne de Moré. Les Chananéens étaient alors dans le pays.
⁷ Yahweh apparut à Abram et lui dit : « je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité. » Et Abram bâtit là un autel à Yahweh qui lui était apparu.
⁸ Il passa de là à la montagne, à l'orient de Béthel, et il dressa sa tente, ayant Béthel au couchant et Haï à l'orient. Là encore il bâtit un autel à Yahweh, et il invoqua le nom de Yahweh.
⁹ Puis Abram s'avança, de campement en campement, vers le Midi.

⁷ Et le Cananéen était alors dans le pays. Et l'Éternel apparut à Abram, et dit : Je donnerai ce pays à ta semence. Et [Abram] bâtit là un autel à l'Éternel, qui lui était apparu.
⁸ Et il se transporta de là vers la montagne, à l'orient de Béthel, et tendit sa tente, [ayant] Béthel à l'occident et Aï à l'orient ; et il bâtit là un autel à l'Éternel et invoqua le nom de l'Éternel.
⁹ Et Abram partit, marchant et allant vers le midi*.

⁶ And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
⁷ And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
⁸ And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
⁹ And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.
