DRB ¹¹ Et un certain vieux prophète habitait Béthel ; et ses fils vinrent et lui racontèrent toute l'œuvre que l'homme de Dieu avait faite ce jour-là à Béthel ; les paroles qu'il avait dites au roi, ils les rapportèrent aussi à leur père.

KJV ¹¹ Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.

S21 ¹¹ Or il y avait un vieux prophète qui habitait à Béthel. Ses fils vinrent lui raconter tout ce que l'homme de Dieu avait fait à Béthel ce jour-là ainsi que les paroles qu'il avait dites au roi. Leur récit terminé,

DRB ¹² Et leur père leur dit : Par quel chemin s'en est-il allé ? Et ses fils avaient vu le chemin par lequel s'en était allé l'homme de Dieu qui venait de Juda.

KJV ¹² And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.

S21 ¹² leur père leur demanda: «Par quel chemin est-il reparti?» Ses fils avaient vu par quel chemin était reparti l'homme de Dieu venu de Juda.

DRB ¹³ Et il dit à ses fils : Sellez-moi l'âne ; et ils lui sellèrent l'âne, et il monta dessus.

KJV ¹³ And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon,

S21 ¹³ Il leur dit: «Sellez-moi l'âne.» C'est ce qu'ils firent et il monta dessus.

DRB ¹⁴ Et il s'en alla après l'homme de Dieu, et le trouva assis sous un térébinthe ; et il lui dit : Es-tu l'homme de Dieu qui est venu de Juda ? Et il dit : C'est moi.

KJV ¹⁴ And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.

S21 ¹⁴ Il partit à la poursuite de l'homme de Dieu et le trouva assis sous un térébinthe. Il lui dit: «Es-tu l'homme de Dieu venu de Juda?» Il répondit: «C'est bien moi.»

DRB ¹⁵ Et il lui dit : Viens avec moi à la maison, et mange du pain.

KJV ¹⁵ Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.

S21 ¹⁵ Alors il lui demanda: «Viens avec moi à la maison et tu mangeras un peu.»

DRB ¹⁶ Et il dit : Je ne puis retourner avec toi ni entrer avec toi, et je ne mangerai pas de pain et je ne boirai pas d'eau avec toi dans ce lieu.

KJV ¹⁶ And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:

S21 ¹⁶ Mais l'homme de Dieu répondit: «Je ne peux ni revenir en arrière avec toi ni entrer chez toi. Je ne mangerai rien et je ne boirai rien avec toi à cet endroit,

DRB ¹⁷ Car il m'a été dit par la parole de l'Éternel : Tu n'y mangeras pas de pain, et tu n'y boiras pas d'eau ; tu ne retourneras pas, en t'en allant, par le chemin par lequel tu es venu.

KJV ¹⁷ For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.

S21 ¹⁷ car il m'a été dit dans une parole de l'Eternel: ‘Tu ne mangeras rien et tu ne boiras rien là-bas, et tu ne prendras pas à ton retour le même chemin qu'à l'aller.'»

DRB ¹⁸ Et il lui dit : Moi aussi je suis prophète comme toi, et un ange m'a parlé par la parole de l'Éternel, disant : Fais-le revenir avec toi à ta maison, et qu'il mange du pain et boive de l'eau. Il lui mentait.

KJV ¹⁸ He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

S21 ¹⁸ L'autre lui répliqua: «Moi aussi, je suis un prophète, comme toi, et un ange m'a parlé de la part de l'Eternel. Il m'a dit: ‘Ramène-le avec toi dans ta maison et qu'il mange et boive.'» Il lui mentait.

KJV ²⁰ And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back:

DRB ²¹ et il cria à l'homme de Dieu qui était venu de Juda, disant : Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Parce que tu as été rebelle à la parole* de l'Éternel, et que tu n'as pas gardé le commandement que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'avait commandé,

KJV ²¹ And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,

S21 ²¹ et il cria à l'homme de Dieu venu de Juda: «Voici ce que dit l'Eternel: Parce que tu t'es rebellé contre l'ordre de l'Eternel et que tu n'as pas respecté le commandement que l'Eternel, ton Dieu, t'avait donné,

DRB ²² et que tu es retourné, et que tu as mangé du pain et que tu as bu de l'eau dans le lieu dont il t'avait dit : Tu n'y mangeras pas de pain et tu n'y boiras pas d'eau, ton cadavre n'entrera pas dans le sépulcre de tes pères.

KJV ²² But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.

S21 ²² parce que tu es revenu en arrière et que tu as mangé et bu à l'endroit même dont il t'avait dit: ‘Tu ne mangeras rien et tu ne boiras rien là-bas', ton cadavre n'entrera pas dans le tombeau de tes ancêtres.»
