BAN ¹ Et Salomon bâtit sa maison en treize ans et il acheva toute sa maison.

KJV ¹ But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

BAN ² Et il bâtit la maison de la Forêt du Liban, longue de cent coudées, large de cinquante coudées et haute de trente coudées, sur quatre rangées de colonnes de cèdre, et il y avait des pièces de bois de cèdre sur les colonnes.

KJV ² He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.

BAN ³ Et un plafond de cèdre recouvrait les chambres, qui reposaient sur les colonnes et dont il y avait quarante-cinq, quinze par rangée.

KJV ³ And it was covered with cedar above upon the beams, that lay on forty five pillars, fifteen in a row.

BAN ⁴ Et il y avait trois rangées de chambres dont les fenêtres étaient les unes en face des autres, trois fois.

KJV ⁴ And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.

BAN ⁵ Et toutes les portes et les linteaux étaient formés de poutres en carré, et les fenêtres étaient placées les unes en face des autres, trois fois.

KJV ⁵ And all the doors and posts were square, with the windows: and light was against light in three ranks.

BAN ⁶ Et il fit le portique à colonnes, long de cinquante coudées et large de trente coudées, et un portique devant elles, et des colonnes, et un perron devant elles.

KJV ⁶ And he made a porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits: and the porch was before them: and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.

BAN ⁷ Et il fit le portique du trône, où il rendait la justice, le portique du jugement ; et on le revêtit de cèdre, de plancher à plancher.

KJV ⁷ Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

BAN ⁸ Et la maison, celle où il demeurait, dans la seconde cour, après le portique, était construite de la même manière. Et la maison que Salomon fit pour la fille de Pharaon qu'il avait épousée, était semblable à ce portique.

KJV ⁸ And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh's daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this porch.

BAN ⁹ Toutes ces constructions étaient de pierres de prix, taillées d'après des mesures, sciées avec la scie, en dedans et en dehors, et cela depuis les fondements jusqu'aux corniches, et du dehors jusqu'à la grande cour.

KJV ⁹ All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

BAN ¹⁰ Les fondements étaient aussi en pierres de prix et de grande dimension, en pierres de dix coudées et en pierres de huit coudées.

KJV ¹⁰ And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.

BAN ¹¹ Et au-dessus, c'étaient encore des pierres de prix, taillées d'après des mesures, et du bois de cèdre.

KJV ¹¹ And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.

BAN ¹² La grande cour avait aussi, tout à l'entour, trois rangées de pierres de taille et une rangée de poutres de cèdre, comme le parvis intérieur de la maison de l'Eternel et comme le portique de la maison.

KJV ¹² And the great court round about was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.

BAN ¹³ Et le roi Salomon fit venir Hiram de Tyr.

KJV ¹³ And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

BAN ¹⁴ Il était fils d'une veuve de la tribu de Nephthali, et son père était un Tyrien, ouvrier en airain ; il était plein d'habileté, d'intelligence et de savoir pour faire toutes sortes d'ouvrages d'airain ; il vint auprès du roi Salomon et il exécuta tous ses ouvrages.

KJV ¹⁴ He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

BAN ¹⁵ Il fabriqua en airain les deux colonnes. La première avait dix-huit coudées de hauteur, et un fil de douze coudées mesurait la circonférence de la seconde.

KJV ¹⁵ For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.

BAN ¹⁶ Il fit aussi en fonte d'airain deux chapiteaux pour les placer sur les sommets des colonnes ; le premier avait cinq coudées de hauteur et le second avait cinq coudées de hauteur.

KJV ¹⁶ And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:

BAN ¹⁷ A ces chapiteaux, placés sur le sommet des colonnes, il y avait des treillis en façon de réseau, [avec] des glands en façon de racines, sept pour le premier chapiteau et sept pour le second chapiteau.

KJV ¹⁷ And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the other chapiter.

BAN ¹⁸ Et il fit les grenades, deux rangées à l'entour sur le treillis, pour couvrir les chapiteaux placés sur le sommet des colonnes ; et il fit de même pour le second chapiteau.

KJV ¹⁸ And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.

BAN ¹⁹ Et les chapiteaux, au sommet des colonnes, dans le portique, étaient en façon de lis et avaient quatre coudées.

KJV ¹⁹ And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

BAN ²⁰ Et les chapiteaux, sur les deux colonnes, [s'élevaient] encore au-dessus du renflement qui était au-delà du treillis ; et il y avait deux cents grenades rangées autour, sur le second chapiteau.

KJV ²⁰ And the chapiters upon the two pillars had pomegranates also above, over against the belly which was by the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows round about upon the other chapiter.

BAN ²¹ Et il dressa les colonnes dans le portique du temple ; il dressa la colonne de droite et la nomma Jakin ; puis il dressa la colonne de gauche et la nomma Boaz.

KJV ²¹ And he set up the pillars in the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.

BAN ²² Et sur le sommet des colonnes, il y avait un ouvrage en façon de lis, et le travail des colonnes fut achevé.

KJV ²² And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.

BAN ²³ Et il fit la mer de fonte, qui avait dix coudées d'un bord à l'autre ; elle était ronde tout à l'entour, haute de cinq coudées, et un cordon de trente coudées en mesurait le tour.

KJV ²³ And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

BAN ²⁴ Des coloquintes l'entouraient au-dessous de son bord tout autour, à raison de dix par coudée, faisant tout le tour de la mer ; il y avait deux rangées de coloquintes qui avaient été fondues d'une seule fonte avec elle.

KJV ²⁴ And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.

BAN ²⁵ Elle était posée sur douze boeufs dont trois regardaient le septentrion et trois l'occident, trois le midi et trois l'orient ; la mer reposait sur eux et toutes leurs croupes étaient tournées en dedans.

KJV ²⁵ It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

BAN ²⁶ Son épaisseur était d'une palme et son bord était comme le bord d'une coupe, semblable à la fleur d'un lis ; elle contenait deux mille baths.

KJV ²⁶ And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand baths.

BAN ²⁷ Et il fit les dix socles d'airain, chaque socle long de quatre coudées, large de quatre coudées et haut de trois coudées.

KJV ²⁷ And he made ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.

BAN ²⁸ Et voici quelle était la façon des socles : ils avaient des panneaux et les panneaux étaient entre les montants.

KJV ²⁸ And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:

BAN ²⁹ Et sur les panneaux, qui étaient entre les montants, il y avait des lions, des boeufs et des chérubins ; et au haut des montants un plateau et, au-dessous, des lions et des boeufs, des guirlandes en festons.

KJV ²⁹ And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.

BAN ³⁰ Chaque socle avait quatre roues d'airain avec des essieux d'airain ; aux quatre pieds il y avait des consoles, et au-dessous du bassin étaient les consoles coulées, chacune au-delà des guirlandes.

KJV ³⁰ And every base had four brasen wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had undersetters: under the laver were undersetters molten, at the side of every addition.

BAN ³¹ Et son ouverture était, à l'intérieur du chapiteau et au-dessus, d'une coudée, et cette ouverture arrondie servant de support était d'une coudée et demie ; et sur son ouverture il se trouvait aussi des sculptures. Et les panneaux étaient carrés et non circulaires.

KJV ³¹ And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the work of the base, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders, foursquare, not round.

BAN ³² Les quatre roues étaient au-dessous des panneaux, et les appuis des roues étaient dans le socle, et chaque roue avait une coudée et demie de hauteur.

KJV ³² And under the borders were four wheels; and the axletrees of the wheels were joined to the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

BAN ³³ La façon des roues était pareille à celle d'une roue de char ; leurs essieux, leurs jantes, leurs raies et leurs moyeux, tout était de fonte.

KJV ³³ And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all molten.

BAN ³⁴ Il y avait aux quatre angles de chaque socle quatre consoles tirées du socle même.

KJV ³⁴ And there were four undersetters to the four corners of one base: and the undersetters were of the very base itself.

BAN ³⁵ Et sur le sommet du socle il y avait une élévation d'une demi-coudée circulaire, et, sur le sommet du socle, ses appuis et ses panneaux étaient de la même pièce que lui.

KJV ³⁵ And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.

BAN ³⁶ Et sur les plateaux des appuis et sur les panneaux, il grava des chérubins, des lions et des palmiers, selon l'espace libre de chacun, et des guirlandes tout autour.

KJV ³⁶ For on the plates of the ledges thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubims, lions, and palm trees, according to the proportion of every one, and additions round about.

BAN ³⁷ C'est ainsi qu'il fit les dix socles ; tous avaient une même fonte, une même mesure et une même forme.

KJV ³⁷ After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.

BAN ³⁸ Et il fit dix cuves d'airain, dont chacune contenait quarante baths ; chaque cuve avait quatre coudées, chaque cuve était sur l'un des dix socles.

KJV ³⁸ Then made he ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths: and every laver was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one laver.

BAN ³⁹ Et il mit les socles, cinq au côté droit de la maison et cinq au côté gauche de la maison ; et quant à la mer, il la mit du côté droit de la maison, vers l'orient, du côté du midi.

KJV ³⁹ And he put five bases on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward over against the south.

BAN ⁴⁰ Et Hiram fit les cuves et les pelles et les bassins. Et Hiram acheva tout l'ouvrage qu'il avait fait au roi Salomon pour la maison de l'Eternel :

KJV ⁴⁰ And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:

BAN ⁴¹ deux colonnes et les deux renflements des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes ; les deux treillis pour couvrir les deux renflements des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes ;

KJV ⁴¹ The two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the two pillars; and the two networks, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars;

BAN ⁴² les quatre cents grenades pour les deux treillis, deux rangées de grenades à chaque treillis, pour couvrir les deux renflements des chapiteaux sur le sommet des colonnes ;

KJV ⁴² And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, even two rows of pomegranates for one network, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the pillars;

BAN ⁴³ les dix socles et les dix cuves sur les socles ;

KJV ⁴³ And the ten bases, and ten lavers on the bases;

BAN ⁴⁴ la mer, unique, et les douze boeufs sous la mer ; et les pots, les pelles et les coupes.

KJV ⁴⁴ And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

BAN ⁴⁵ Tous ces ustensiles, que Hiram fit au roi Salomon pour la maison de l'Eternel, étaient d'airain poli.

KJV ⁴⁵ And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.

BAN ⁴⁶ Le roi les fit fondre dans la plaine du Jourdain, dans un sol argileux, entre Succoth et Tsarthan.

KJV ⁴⁶ In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.

BAN ⁴⁷ Et Salomon laissa tous ces ustensiles [sans les peser], car ils étaient en trop grand nombre, et on ne rechercha pas le poids de l'airain.

KJV ⁴⁷ And Solomon left all the vessels unweighed, because they were exceeding many: neither was the weight of the brass found out.

BAN ⁴⁸ Et Salomon fit tous les ustensiles de la maison de l'Eternel : l'autel d'or ; la table d'or sur laquelle ou mettait les pains de proposition ;

KJV ⁴⁸ And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was,

BAN ⁴⁹ les candélabres d'or fin, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche devant le sanctuaire, avec les fleurs, les lampes et les mouchettes d'or ;

KJV ⁴⁹ And the candlesticks of pure gold, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, with the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold,

BAN ⁵⁰ les bassins, les couteaux, les coupes, les cuillers et les brasiers d'or fin ; et les gonds d'or pour la porte intérieure de la maison, à l'entrée du Lieu très saint et pour la porte de la maison, à l'entrée du temple.

KJV ⁵⁰ And the bowls, and the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers of pure gold; and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple.

BAN ⁵¹ Et lorsqu'eut été achevé tout l'ouvrage que le roi Salomon fit pour la maison de l'Eternel, Salomon fit apporter les choses consacrées par David son père, l'argent, l'or et les ustensiles, et il les mit dans les trésors de la maison de l'Eternel.

KJV ⁵¹ So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.

BAN ¹ Alors Salomon assembla auprès de lui à Jérusalem les Anciens d'Israël et tous les chefs des tribus, les princes des familles des fils d'Israël, pour faire monter de la cité de David, qui est Sion, l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel.

KJV ¹ Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

BAN ² Et tous les hommes d'Israël se réunirent auprès du roi Salomon, au mois d'Ethanim, qui est le septième mois, lors de la fête.

KJV ² And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

BAN ³ Et lorsque tous les Anciens d'Israël furent arrivés, les sacrificateurs transportèrent l'arche

KJV ³ And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

BAN ⁴ et ils firent monter l'arche de l'Eternel et la Tente d'assignation et tous les ustensiles sacrés qui étaient dans la Tente ; les sacrificateurs et les Lévites les firent monter.

KJV ⁴ And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

BAN ⁵ Et le roi Salomon et toute l'assemblée d'Israël convoquée auprès de lui se tinrent ensemble devant l'arche et sacrifièrent des brebis et des boeufs qui ne furent ni comptés ni nombrés à cause de leur multitude.

KJV ⁵ And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

BAN ⁶ Et les sacrificateurs apportèrent l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel en son lieu, dans le sanctuaire de la maison, dans le Lieu très saint, sous les ailes des chérubins.

KJV ⁶ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

BAN ⁷ Car les chérubins avaient les ailes étendues sur la place de l'arche, et les chérubins couvraient l'arche et ses barres par en haut.

KJV ⁷ For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

BAN ⁸ Et les barres étaient de telle longueur que leurs extrémités étaient vues du Lieu saint devant le sanctuaire, mais elles ne se voyaient pas du dehors, et elles ont été là jusqu'à ce jour.

KJV ⁸ And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

BAN ⁹ Il n'y avait dans l'arche que les deux tables de pierre que Moïse y déposa en Horeb, lorsque l'Eternel fit alliance avec les fils d'Israël, à leur sortie du pays d'Egypte.

KJV ⁹ There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

BAN ¹⁰ Et il arriva, quand les sacrificateurs sortirent du Lieu saint, que la nuée remplit la maison de l'Eternel ;

KJV ¹⁰ And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

BAN ¹¹ et les sacrificateurs ne purent s'y tenir pour faire le service, à cause de la nuée, car la gloire de l'Eternel remplissait la maison de l'Eternel.

KJV ¹¹ So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

BAN ¹² Alors Salomon dit : L'Eternel a voulu habiter dans l'obscurité !

KJV ¹² Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

BAN ¹³ Je t'ai bâti une maison pour demeure, un lieu pour ta résidence à jamais !

KJV ¹³ I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

BAN ¹⁴ Et le roi, tournant son visage, bénit toute l'assemblée d'Israël ; et toute l'assemblée d'Israël se tenait debout.

KJV ¹⁴ And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

BAN ¹⁵ Et il dit : Béni soit l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui de sa bouche a parlé à David, mon père, et qui, de sa main, accomplit [ce qu'il avait déclaré] en disant :

KJV ¹⁵ And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

BAN ¹⁶ Depuis le jour où je fis sortir d'Egypte mon peuple d'Israël, je n'ai point choisi de ville dans aucune des tribus d'Israël pour y bâtir une maison où fût mon nom, mais j'ai choisi David pour qu'il régnât sur mon peuple d'Israël.

KJV ¹⁶ Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

BAN ¹⁷ Et David, mon père, avait le désir de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël ;

KJV ¹⁷ And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

BAN ¹⁸ et l'Eternel dit à David, mon père : Quant à ton désir de bâtir une maison à mon nom, tu as bien fait d'avoir ce désir ;

KJV ¹⁸ And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

BAN ¹⁹ seulement ce n'est pas toi qui bâtiras la maison, mais c'est ton fils, sorti de tes entrailles, qui bâtira la maison à mon nom.

KJV ¹⁹ Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

BAN ²⁰ L'Eternel a donc réalisé la parole qu'il avait prononcée ; j'ai succédé à David, mon père, et je me suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'avait dit l'Eternel, et j'ai bâti la maison au nom de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.

KJV ²⁰ And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

BAN ²¹ J'ai disposé là un lieu pour l'arche, dans laquelle est l'alliance de l'Eternel qu'il traita avec nos pères, quand il les fit sortir du pays d'Egypte.

KJV ²¹ And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

BAN ²² Et Salomon se plaça devant l'autel de l'Eternel, en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et, étendant les mains vers le ciel, il dit :

KJV ²² And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

BAN ²³ O Eternel, Dieu d'Israël ! ni là-haut dans les cieux, ni ici-bas sur la terre, il n'y a de Dieu semblable à toi, qui gardes l'alliance et la miséricorde à tes serviteurs qui marchent devant ta face de tout leur coeur ;

KJV ²³ And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

BAN ²⁴ toi qui as tenu à ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui avais promis ; tu l'avais promis de ta bouche, et de ta main tu l'as accompli en ce jour.

KJV ²⁴ Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

BAN ²⁵ Et maintenant, ô Eternel, Dieu d'Israël, tiens à ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui as promis, en disant : Tu ne manqueras jamais devant moi d'un successeur assis sur le trône d'Israël, pourvu que tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, pour marcher en ma présence comme tu y as marché.

KJV ²⁵ Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

KJV ²⁶ And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

BAN ²⁷ Mais Dieu habiterait-il vraiment sur la terre ? Voici, les cieux, même les cieux des cieux ne peuvent te contenir ; combien moins cette maison que j'ai bâtie !

KJV ²⁷ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

BAN ²⁸ O Eternel, mon Dieu, aie égard à la prière de ton serviteur et à sa supplication, en écoutant le cri et la prière que ton serviteur t'adresse aujourd'hui,

KJV ²⁸ Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:

BAN ²⁹ de sorte que tes yeux soient ouverts, jour et nuit, sur cette maison, sur le lieu dont tu as dit : Là sera mon nom ! et que tu exauces la prière que ton serviteur fait pour ce lieu.

KJV ²⁹ That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.

BAN ³⁰ Et tu entendras la supplication de ton serviteur et de ton peuple d'Israël, qu'ils adresseront vers ce lieu, et toi tu entendras [la prière qui montera] vers le lieu de ta demeure, vers les cieux ; tu entendras et tu pardonneras.

KJV ³⁰ And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

BAN ³¹ Quand quelqu'un aura péché contre son prochain et qu'on lui intimera le serment pour le faire jurer, et qu'il viendra prêter serment devant ton autel, dans cette maison,

KJV ³¹ If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:

BAN ³² toi, écoute des cieux, agis et juge tes serviteurs en condamnant le coupable et en faisant retomber sa conduite sur sa tête, en justifiant l'innocent et en lui rendant selon son innocence !

KJV ³² Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

BAN ³³ Quand ton peuple d'Israël aura été battu par l'ennemi, pour avoir péché contre toi ; s'ils reviennent à toi et rendent gloire à ton nom, et qu'ils t'adressent leurs prières et leurs supplications dans cette maison,

KJV ³³ When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:

BAN ³⁴ toi, exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de ton peuple d'Israël, et ramène-les dans le pays que tu as donné à leurs pères !

KJV ³⁴ Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.

BAN ³⁵ Quand le ciel sera fermé et qu'il n'y aura point de pluie, parce qu'ils auront péché contre toi ; s'ils adressent leurs prières vers ce lieu et rendent gloire à ton nom, et s'ils se détournent de leurs péchés, parce que tu les auras affligés,

KJV ³⁵ When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

BAN ³⁶ toi, exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de tes serviteurs et de ton peuple d'Israël, à qui tu avais enseigné le bon chemin par lequel ils devaient marcher, et envoie la pluie sur ton pays que tu as donné en héritage à ton peuple !

KJV ³⁶ Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

BAN ³⁷ Quand il y aura dans le pays la famine ou la peste ; quand il y aura la brûlure, le charbon, les sauterelles ou les criquets ; quand l'ennemi serrera de près [ton peuple] dans son pays, dans ses portes ; quand il y aura toute espèce de fléau ou de maladie ;

KJV ³⁷ If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

BAN ³⁸ s'il arrive qu'un homme ou que tout ton peuple d'Israël fasse entendre des prières et des supplications, qu'ils reconnaissent chacun la plaie de son coeur et qu'ils étendent leurs mains vers cette maison,

KJV ³⁸ What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

BAN ³⁹ toi, exauce-les des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et pardonne ; agis et rends à chacun selon ses voies, toi qui connais le coeur de chacun, car seul tu connais le coeur de tous les fils des hommes,

KJV ³⁹ Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

BAN ⁴⁰ afin qu'ils te craignent tout le temps qu'ils vivront dans le pays que tu as donné à nos pères !

KJV ⁴⁰ That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

BAN ⁴¹ Et même l'étranger, qui n'est pas de ton peuple d'Israël, et qui viendra d'un pays lointain, à cause de ton nom

KJV ⁴¹ Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;

BAN ⁴² (car il entendra parler de ton grand nom, de ta main puissante et de ton bras étendu), quand il viendra et priera en se tournant vers cette maison,

KJV ⁴² (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

BAN ⁴³ toi, exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et accomplis tout ce que cet étranger t'aura demandé, afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent ton nom pour te craindre, comme ton peuple d'Israël, et pour qu'ils sachent que ton nom est invoqué sur cette maison que j'ai bâtie !

KJV ⁴³ Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

BAN ⁴⁴ Quand ton peuple sortira pour faire la guerre à son ennemi, par le chemin par où tu les enverras, et qu'ils prieront l'Eternel, les regards tournés vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom,

KJV ⁴⁴ If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

BAN ⁴⁵ exauce des cieux leur prière et leur supplication, et fais-leur droit !

KJV ⁴⁵ Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

BAN ⁴⁶ Quand ils pécheront contre toi (car il n'y a point d'homme qui ne pèche), et que tu te seras irrité contre eux et que tu les auras livrés à l'ennemi, et que leurs vainqueurs les auront emmenés captifs au pays de l'ennemi, lointain ou rapproché ;

KJV ⁴⁶ If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

BAN ⁴⁷ s'ils rentrent en eux-mêmes, dans le pays où ils seront captifs, s'ils reviennent à toi et t'adressent des supplications, dans le pays de ceux qui les auront emmenés captifs, en disant : Nous avons péché, nous avons commis l'iniquité, nous avons agi méchamment ;

KJV ⁴⁷ Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

BAN ⁴⁸ s'ils reviennent à toi de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leurs ennemis qui les auront emmenés captifs ; s'ils t'adressent des prières, les regards tournés vers le pays que tu as donné à leurs pères, vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom,

KJV ⁴⁸ And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

KJV ⁴⁹ Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

BAN ⁵⁰ pardonne à ton peuple ses péchés et toutes les rébellions dont il aura été coupable envers toi ; donne-leur de trouver compassion auprès de ceux qui les auront emmenés captifs, et qu'ils aient pitié d'eux,

KJV ⁵⁰ And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

BAN ⁵¹ car ils sont ton peuple et ton héritage que tu as fait sortir d'Egypte, du milieu de ce fourneau à fondre le fer !

KJV ⁵¹ For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:

BAN ⁵² Que tes yeux soient donc ouverts sur la supplication de ton serviteur et sur la supplication de ton peuple d'Israël, pour les exaucer en tout ce qu'ils te demanderont.

KJV ⁵² That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.

BAN ⁵³ Car tu les as séparés pour toi de tous les peuples de la terre pour en faire ta part, comme tu l'as déclaré par Moïse, ton serviteur, quand tu retiras nos pères d'Egypte, ô Seigneur Eternel !

KJV ⁵³ For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God.

BAN ⁵⁴ Et lorsque Salomon eut achevé d'adresser à l'Eternel toute cette prière et cette supplication, il se leva de devant l'autel de l'Eternel, où il était agenouillé les mains étendues vers le ciel,

KJV ⁵⁴ And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

BAN ⁵⁵ et se tenant debout, il bénit à haute voix toute l'assemblée d'Israël, en disant :

KJV ⁵⁵ And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

BAN ⁵⁶ Béni soit l'Eternel qui a donné du repos à son peuple d'Israël, selon tout ce qu'il avait dit ! Il n'est pas tombé un seul mot de toutes les bonnes paroles qu'il avait prononcées par Moïse, son serviteur.

KJV ⁵⁶ Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

BAN ⁵⁷ Que l'Eternel, notre Dieu, soit avec nous, comme il a été avec nos pères ; qu'il ne nous abandonne point et ne nous rejette point ;

KJV ⁵⁷ The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

BAN ⁵⁸ qu'il incline nos coeurs vers lui, ensorte que nous marchions dans toutes ses voies et que nous gardions ses commandements, ses statuts et ses ordonnances, qu'il a prescrits à nos pères !

KJV ⁵⁸ That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

BAN ⁵⁹ Et que ces paroles, par lesquelles j'ai fait supplication à l'Eternel, soient jour et nuit présentes à l'Eternel, notre Dieu, pour qu'il fasse droit à son serviteur et à son peuple d'Israël, selon le besoin de chaque jour ;

KJV ⁵⁹ And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

BAN ⁶⁰ afin que tous les peuples de la terre sachent que l'Eternel est Dieu, qu'il n'y en a point d'autre ;

KJV ⁶⁰ That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

BAN ⁶¹ et que votre coeur soit tout entier à l'Eternel, notre Dieu, pour marcher dans ses statuts et pour garder ses commandements, comme aujourd'hui !

KJV ⁶¹ Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

BAN ⁶² Et le roi et tout Israël avec lui offrirent des sacrifices devant l'Eternel.

KJV ⁶² And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

BAN ⁶³ Et Salomon immola, pour le sacrifice d'actions de grâces qu'il présenta à l'Eternel, vingt-deux mille boeufs et cent vingt mille brebis. Ainsi le roi et tous les fils d'Israël firent la dédicace de la maison de l'Eternel.

KJV ⁶³ And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

BAN ⁶⁴ En ce jour-là, le roi consacra le milieu du parvis, qui est devant la maison de l'Eternel ; car il offrit là les holocaustes, les oblations et les graisses des sacrifices d'actions de grâces, parce que l'autel d'airain qui est devant l'Eternel était trop petit pour contenir les holocaustes, les oblations et les graisses des sacrifices d'actions de grâces.

KJV ⁶⁴ The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

BAN ⁶⁵ Et, en ce temps-là, Salomon célébra la fête, et tout Israël avec lui, une grande assemblée réunie depuis le chemin de Hamath jusqu'au Torrent d'Egypte, devant la face de l'Eternel, pendant sept jours et sept autres jours, soit quatorze jours.

KJV ⁶⁵ And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

BAN ⁶⁶ Le huitième jour, il renvoya le peuple ; et ils bénirent le roi et s'en allèrent dans leurs demeures, joyeux et le coeur content de tout le bien que l'Eternel avait fait à David, son serviteur, et à Israël, son peuple.

KJV ⁶⁶ On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
