   ¹⁸ Et David s'enfuit et échappa, et il se rendit chez Samuel à Rama, et lui raconta tout ce que Saül lui avait fait. Et ils allèrent, lui et Samuel, demeurer à Najoth. ¹⁹ Et on le fit savoir à Saül, en disant : David est à Najoth, en Rama. ²⁰ Et Saül envoya des gens pour prendre David ; et ils virent la troupe des prophètes qui prophétisaient, et Samuel se tenait là présidant sur eux ; et l'Esprit de Dieu saisit les envoyés de Saül, et ils prophétisèrent eux aussi. ²¹ Et on le fit savoir à Saül, et il envoya d'autres gens, et ils se mirent eux aussi à prophétiser. Et Saül en envoya encore pour la troisième fois, et ils prophétisèrent eux aussi. ²² Et Saül alla lui aussi à Rama ; et quand il fut arrivé à la grande citerne qui est à Sécou, il demanda : Où sont Samuel et David ? Et on lui dit : Ils sont à Najoth en Rama. ²³ Et il se dirigea vers Najoth en Rama, et l'Esprit de Dieu le saisit lui aussi, et continuant son chemin il prophétisait jusqu'à ce qu'il arriva à Najoth en Rama. ²⁴ Et il ôta lui aussi ses vêtements, et il prophétisa, lui aussi, devant Samuel ; et il resta gisant nu à terre tout ce jour-là et toute la nuit. C'est pourquoi l'on dit Saül est-il aussi parmi les prophètes ?

   ¹⁸ So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth. ¹⁹ And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah. ²⁰ And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied. ²¹ And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also. ²² Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah. ²³ And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah. ²⁴ And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night.    ¹⁸ C'est ainsi que David prit la fuite et qu'il échappa. Il se rendit auprès de Samuel à Rama, et lui raconta tout ce que Saül lui avait fait. Puis il alla avec Samuel demeurer à Najoth. ¹⁹ On le rapporta à Saül, en disant: Voici, David est à Najoth, près de Rama. ²⁰ Saül envoya des gens pour prendre David. Ils virent une assemblée de prophètes qui prophétisaient, ayant Samuel à leur tête. L'esprit de Dieu saisit les envoyés de Saül, et ils se mirent aussi à prophétiser eux-mêmes. ²¹ On en fit rapport à Saül, qui envoya d'autres gens, et eux aussi prophétisèrent. Il en envoya encore pour la troisième fois, et ils prophétisèrent également. ²² Alors Saül alla lui-même à Rama. Arrivé à la grande citerne qui est à Sécou, il demanda: Où sont Samuel et David ?
