BCC ¹ David monta de là et s'établit dans les lieux forts d'Engaddi.

KJV ¹ And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi.

BCC ² Lorsque Saül fut revenu de la poursuite des Philistins, on vint lui dire : « Voici que David est au désert d'Engaddi. »

KJV ² Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.

BCC ³ Saül prit trois mille hommes d'élite d'entre tout Israël, et il alla à la recherche de David et de ses gens jusque sur les rochers des boucs sauvages.

KJV ³ And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.

NEG ³ Saül prit trois mille hommes d'élite sur tout Israël, et il alla chercher David et ses gens jusque sur les rochers des boucs sauvages.

WLC ³ וַיִּקַּ֣ח שָׁא֗וּל שְׁלֹ֧שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֛ים אִ֥ישׁ בָּח֖וּר מִכָּל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ לְבַקֵּ֤שׁ אֶת־ דָּוִד֙ וַֽאֲנָשָׁ֔יו עַל־ פְּנֵ֖י צוּרֵ֥י הַיְּעֵלִֽים׃

BCC ⁴ Il arriva aux parcs des brebis qui étaient près du chemin ; il y avait là une caverne, où Saül entra pour se couvrir les pieds ; et David et ses gens étaient assis au fond de la caverne.

KJV ⁴ And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily.

NEG ⁴ Il arriva à des parcs de brebis, qui étaient près du chemin; et là se trouvait une caverne, où il entra pour se couvrir les pieds. David et ses gens étaient au fond de la caverne.

WLC ⁴ וַ֠יָּבֹא אֶל־ גִּדְר֨וֹת הַצֹּ֤אן עַל־ הַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ וְשָׁ֣ם מְעָרָ֔ה וַיָּבֹ֥א שָׁא֖וּל לְהָסֵ֣ךְ אֶת־ רַגְלָ֑יו וְדָוִד֙ וַאֲנָשָׁ֔יו בְּיַרְכְּתֵ֥י הַמְּעָרָ֖ה יֹשְׁבִֽים׃

BCC ⁵ Les hommes de David lui dirent : « Voici le jour dont Yahweh t'a dit : Voici que je livre ton ennemi entre tes mains ; traite-le comme il te plaira. » David se leva et coupa à la dérobée le pan du manteau de Saül.

KJV ⁵ And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.

NEG ⁵ Les gens de David lui dirent: Voici le jour où l'Eternel te dit: Je livre ton ennemi entre tes mains; traite-le comme bon te semblera. David se leva, et coupa doucement le pan du manteau de Saül.

WLC ⁵ וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ אַנְשֵׁ֨י דָוִ֜ד אֵלָ֗יו הִנֵּ֨ה הַיּ֜וֹם אֲ‍ֽשֶׁר־ אָמַ֧ר יְהוָ֣ה אֵלֶ֗יךָ הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י נֹתֵ֤ן אֶת־ בְּיָדֶ֔ךָ וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ לּ֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר יִטַ֣ב בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ וַיָּ֣קָם דָּוִ֗ד וַיִּכְרֹ֛ת אֶת־ כְּנַֽף־ הַמְּעִ֥יל אֲשֶׁר־ לְשָׁא֖וּל בַּלָּֽט׃

BCC ⁶ Après cela, le coeur de David lui battit, de ce qu'il avait coupé le pan du manteau de Saül.

KJV ⁶ And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.

NEG ⁶ Après cela le cœur lui battit, parce qu'il avait coupé le pan du manteau de Saül.

WLC ⁶ וַֽיְהִי֙ אַֽחֲרֵי־ כֵ֔ן וַיַּ֥ךְ לֵב־ דָּוִ֖ד אֹת֑וֹ עַ֚ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר כָּרַ֔ת אֶת־ כָּנָ֖ף אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְשָׁאֽוּל׃

BCC ⁷ Et il dit à ses hommes : « Que Yahweh me préserve de faire contre mon seigneur, l'oint de Yahweh, une chose telle que de porter ma main sur lui, car il est l'oint de Yahweh ! »

KJV ⁷ So David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.

NEG ⁷ Et il dit à ses gens: Que l'Eternel me garde de commettre contre mon seigneur, l'oint de l'Eternel, une action telle que de porter ma main sur lui! car il est l'oint de l'Eternel.

WLC ⁷ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר לַאֲנָשָׁ֜יו חָלִ֧ילָה לִּ֣י מֵֽיהוָ֗ה אִם־ אֶעֱשֶׂה֩ אֶת־ הַדָּבָ֨ר הַזֶּ֤ה לַֽאדֹנִי֙ לִמְשִׁ֣יחַ יְהוָ֔ה לִשְׁלֹ֥חַ יָדִ֖י בּ֑וֹ כִּֽי־ מְשִׁ֥יחַ יְהוָ֖ה הֽוּא׃

BCC ⁸ Par ses paroles, David réprima ses hommes et ne leur permit pas de se jeter sur Saül. Saül s'étant levé pour sortir de la caverne continua sa route.

KJV ⁸ David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.

NEG ⁸ Par ces paroles David arrêta ses gens, et les empêcha de se jeter sur Saül. Puis Saül se leva pour sortir de la caverne, et continua son chemin.

WLC ⁸ וַיְשַׁסַּ֨ע דָּוִ֤ד אֶת־ אֲנָשָׁיו֙ בַּדְּבָרִ֔ים וְלֹ֥א נְתָנָ֖ם לָק֣וּם אֶל־ שָׁא֑וּל וְשָׁא֛וּל קָ֥ם מֵהַמְּעָרָ֖ה וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃
