KJV ⁹ Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

BAN ¹⁰ et je vous avais fait monter du pays d'Egypte et je vous avais fait marcher quarante ans dans le désert, pour vous faire posséder le pays de l'Amorrhéen.

KJV ¹⁰ Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

VULC ¹⁰ Ego sum qui ascendere vos feci de terra Ægypti,
et duxi vos in deserto quadraginta annis,
ut possideretis terram Amorrhæi.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאָנֹכִ֛י הֶעֱלֵ֥יתִי אֶתְכֶ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וָאוֹלֵ֨ךְ אֶתְכֶ֤ם בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה לָרֶ֖שֶׁת אֶת־ אֶ֥רֶץ הָאֱמֹרִֽי׃

BAN ¹¹ Et j'avais suscité d'entre vos fils des prophètes et d'entre vos jeunes gens des naziréens. N'en est-il pas ainsi, fils d'Israël ? dit l'Eternel.

KJV ¹¹ And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.

KJV ¹² But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

WLC ¹² וַתַּשְׁק֥וּ אֶת־ הַנְּזִרִ֖ים יָ֑יִן וְעַל־ הַנְּבִיאִים֙ צִוִּיתֶ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֖א תִּנָּבְאֽוּ׃

BAN ¹³ Je vais faire craquer le sol sous vous comme le fait craquer un chariot surchargé de gerbes.

KJV ¹³ Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

VULC ¹³ Ecce ego stridebo subter vos,
sicut stridet plaustrum onustum fœno.

WLC ¹³ הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י מֵעִ֖יק תַּחְתֵּיכֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר תָּעִיק֙ הָעֲגָלָ֔ה הַֽמְלֵאָ֥ה לָ֖הּ עָמִֽיר׃

BAN ¹⁴ La fuite fera défaut à l'homme agile ; le vigoureux ne trouvera pas sa force, et le brave ne sauvera pas sa vie.

KJV ¹⁴ Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

VULC ¹⁴ Et peribit fuga a veloce,
et fortis non obtinebit virtutem suam,
et robustus non salvabit animam suam :

WLC ¹⁴ וְאָבַ֤ד מָנוֹס֙ מִקָּ֔ל וְחָזָ֖ק לֹא־ יְאַמֵּ֣ץ כֹּח֑וֹ וְגִבּ֖וֹר לֹא־ יְמַלֵּ֥ט נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃

BAN ¹⁵ Celui qui manie l'arc ne tiendra pas pied ; l'homme agile n'échappera pas ; l'homme à cheval ne sauvera pas sa vie.

KJV ¹⁵ Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.

VULC ¹⁵ et tenens arcum non stabit,
et velox pedibus suis non salvabitur,
et ascensor equi non salvabit animam suam :

WLC ¹⁵ וְתֹפֵ֤שׂ הַקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙ לֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֔ד וְקַ֥ל בְּרַגְלָ֖יו לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּ֑ט וְרֹכֵ֣ב הַסּ֔וּס לֹ֥א יְמַלֵּ֖ט נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃

BAN ¹⁶ En ce jour-là, dit l'Eternel, le plus courageux entre les braves s'enfuira tout nu.

KJV ¹⁶ And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.

VULC ¹⁶ et robustus corde inter fortes nudus fugiet in illa die,
