KJV ⁹ Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

MAR ⁹ J'ai pourtant détruit devant eux l'Amorrhéen, dont la hauteur était comme la hauteur des cèdres, et qui était fort comme les chênes ; et j'ai ruiné son fruit par-dessus, et ses racines par-dessous.

VULC ⁹ Ego autem exterminavi Amorrhæum a facie eorum,
cujus altitudo, cedrorum altitudo ejus,
et fortis ipse quasi quercus ;
et contrivi fructum ejus desuper,
et radices ejus subter.

WLC ⁹ וְאָ֨נֹכִ֜י הִשְׁמַ֤דְתִּי אֶת־ הָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר כְּגֹ֤בַהּ אֲרָזִים֙ גָּבְה֔וֹ וְחָסֹ֥ן ה֖וּא כָּֽאַלּוֹנִ֑ים וָאַשְׁמִ֤יד פִּרְיוֹ֙ מִמַּ֔עַל וְשָׁרָשָׁ֖יו מִתָּֽחַת׃

KJV ¹⁰ Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

MAR ¹⁰ Je vous ai aussi tirés du pays d'Egypte, et je vous ai conduits par le désert durant quarante ans, afin que vous possédassiez le pays de l'Amorrhéen.

VULC ¹⁰ Ego sum qui ascendere vos feci de terra Ægypti,
et duxi vos in deserto quadraginta annis,
ut possideretis terram Amorrhæi.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאָנֹכִ֛י הֶעֱלֵ֥יתִי אֶתְכֶ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וָאוֹלֵ֨ךְ אֶתְכֶ֤ם בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה לָרֶ֖שֶׁת אֶת־ אֶ֥רֶץ הָאֱמֹרִֽי׃

KJV ¹¹ And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.

MAR ¹¹ Davantage, j'ai suscité quelques-uns d'entre vos fils pour être Prophètes, et quelques-uns d'entre vos jeunes gens pour être Nazariens ; n'est-il pas ainsi, enfants d'Israël ; dit l'Eternel ?

VULC ¹¹ Et suscitavi de filiis vestris in prophetas,
et de juvenibus vestris nazaræos.
Numquid non ita est, filii Israël ? dicit Dominus.

WLC ¹¹ וָאָקִ֤ים מִבְּנֵיכֶם֙ לִנְבִיאִ֔ים וּמִבַּחוּרֵיכֶ֖ם לִנְזִרִ֑ים הַאַ֥ף אֵֽין־ זֹ֛את בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹² But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

MAR ¹² Mais vous avez fait boire du vin aux Nazariens, et vous avez commandé aux Prophètes, et leur avez dit : Ne prophétisez plus.

KJV ¹³ Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

MAR ¹³ Voici, je m'en vais fouler le lieu où vous habitez, comme un chariot plein de gerbes foule [tout par où il passe].

VULC ¹³ Ecce ego stridebo subter vos,
sicut stridet plaustrum onustum fœno.

WLC ¹³ הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י מֵעִ֖יק תַּחְתֵּיכֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר תָּעִיק֙ הָעֲגָלָ֔ה הַֽמְלֵאָ֥ה לָ֖הּ עָמִֽיר׃

KJV ¹⁴ Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

MAR ¹⁴ Tellement que l'homme léger ne pourra point fuir, et le fort ne pourra pas faire usage de sa vigueur, et le vaillant ne sauvera point sa vie.

VULC ¹⁴ Et peribit fuga a veloce,
et fortis non obtinebit virtutem suam,
et robustus non salvabit animam suam :

WLC ¹⁴ וְאָבַ֤ד מָנוֹס֙ מִקָּ֔ל וְחָזָ֖ק לֹא־ יְאַמֵּ֣ץ כֹּח֑וֹ וְגִבּ֖וֹר לֹא־ יְמַלֵּ֥ט נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁵ Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.

MAR ¹⁵ Et celui qui manie l'arc, ne pourra point demeurer ferme ; et celui qui est léger à la course n'échappera point ; et l'homme de cheval ne sauvera point sa vie.

VULC ¹⁵ et tenens arcum non stabit,
et velox pedibus suis non salvabitur,
et ascensor equi non salvabit animam suam :

WLC ¹⁵ וְתֹפֵ֤שׂ הַקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙ לֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֔ד וְקַ֥ל בְּרַגְלָ֖יו לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּ֑ט וְרֹכֵ֣ב הַסּ֔וּס לֹ֥א יְמַלֵּ֖ט נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁶ And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.

MAR ¹⁶ Et le plus courageux entre les [hommes] forts s'enfuira tout nu en ce jour-là, dit l'Eternel.

VULC ¹⁶ et robustus corde inter fortes nudus fugiet in illa die,
dicit Dominus.]
