KJV ⁹ Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

NEG ⁹ Et pourtant j'ai détruit devant eux les Amoréens, Dont la hauteur égalait celle des cèdres, Et la force celle des chênes; J'ai détruit leurs fruits en haut, Et leurs racines en bas.

VULC ⁹ Ego autem exterminavi Amorrhæum a facie eorum,
cujus altitudo, cedrorum altitudo ejus,
et fortis ipse quasi quercus ;
et contrivi fructum ejus desuper,
et radices ejus subter.

WLC ⁹ וְאָ֨נֹכִ֜י הִשְׁמַ֤דְתִּי אֶת־ הָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר כְּגֹ֤בַהּ אֲרָזִים֙ גָּבְה֔וֹ וְחָסֹ֥ן ה֖וּא כָּֽאַלּוֹנִ֑ים וָאַשְׁמִ֤יד פִּרְיוֹ֙ מִמַּ֔עַל וְשָׁרָשָׁ֖יו מִתָּֽחַת׃

KJV ¹⁰ Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

NEG ¹⁰ Et pourtant je vous ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte, Et je vous ai conduits quarante ans dans le désert, Pour vous mettre en possession du pays des Amoréens.

VULC ¹⁰ Ego sum qui ascendere vos feci de terra Ægypti,
et duxi vos in deserto quadraginta annis,
ut possideretis terram Amorrhæi.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאָנֹכִ֛י הֶעֱלֵ֥יתִי אֶתְכֶ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וָאוֹלֵ֨ךְ אֶתְכֶ֤ם בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה לָרֶ֖שֶׁת אֶת־ אֶ֥רֶץ הָאֱמֹרִֽי׃

KJV ¹¹ And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.

NEG ¹¹ J'ai suscité parmi vos fils des prophètes, Et parmi vos jeunes hommes des nazaréens. N'en est-il pas ainsi, enfants d'Israël? dit l'Eternel…

VULC ¹¹ Et suscitavi de filiis vestris in prophetas,
et de juvenibus vestris nazaræos.
Numquid non ita est, filii Israël ? dicit Dominus.

WLC ¹¹ וָאָקִ֤ים מִבְּנֵיכֶם֙ לִנְבִיאִ֔ים וּמִבַּחוּרֵיכֶ֖ם לִנְזִרִ֑ים הַאַ֥ף אֵֽין־ זֹ֛את בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹² But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

NEG ¹² Et vous avez fait boire du vin aux nazaréens! Et aux prophètes vous avez donné cet ordre: Ne prophétisez pas!

KJV ¹³ Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

WLC ¹³ הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י מֵעִ֖יק תַּחְתֵּיכֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר תָּעִיק֙ הָעֲגָלָ֔ה הַֽמְלֵאָ֥ה לָ֖הּ עָמִֽיר׃

KJV ¹⁴ Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

VULC ¹⁴ Et peribit fuga a veloce,
et fortis non obtinebit virtutem suam,
et robustus non salvabit animam suam :

WLC ¹⁴ וְאָבַ֤ד מָנוֹס֙ מִקָּ֔ל וְחָזָ֖ק לֹא־ יְאַמֵּ֣ץ כֹּח֑וֹ וְגִבּ֖וֹר לֹא־ יְמַלֵּ֥ט נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃

KJV ¹⁵ Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.

KJV ¹⁶ And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.
