KJV ¹⁰ Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

VULC ¹⁰ Et misit Amasias, sacerdos Bethel, ad Jeroboam, regem Israël, dicens : Rebellavit contra te Amos in medio domus Israël ; non poterit terra sustinere universos sermones ejus.

WLC ¹⁰ וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח אֲמַצְיָה֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן בֵּֽית־ אֵ֔ל אֶל־ יָרָבְעָ֥ם מֶֽלֶךְ־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר קָשַׁ֨ר עָלֶ֜יךָ עָמ֗וֹס בְּקֶ֙רֶב֙ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹא־ תוּכַ֣ל הָאָ֔רֶץ לְהָכִ֖יל אֶת־ כָּל־ דְּבָרָֽיו׃

DRB ¹¹ Car ainsi dit Amos : Jéroboam mourra par l'épée, et Israël sera certainement transporté de dessus sa terre.

KJV ¹¹ For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.

VULC ¹¹ Hæc enim dicit Amos : In gladio morietur Jeroboam, et Israël captivus migrabit de terra sua.

VULC ¹² Et dixit Amasias ad Amos : Qui vides, gradere : fuge in terram Juda, et comede ibi panem, et prophetabis ibi.

WLC ¹² וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲמַצְיָה֙ אֶל־ עָמ֔וֹס חֹזֶ֕ה לֵ֥ךְ בְּרַח־ לְךָ֖ אֶל־ אֶ֣רֶץ יְהוּדָ֑ה וֶאֱכָל־ שָׁ֣ם לֶ֔חֶם וְשָׁ֖ם תִּנָּבֵֽא׃

DRB ¹³ mais ne prophétise plus à Béthel, car c'est le sanctuaire du roi et la maison du royaume.

KJV ¹³ But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.

VULC ¹³ Et in Bethel non adjicies ultra ut prophetes, quia sanctificatio regis est, et domus regni est.

WLC ¹³ וּבֵֽית־ אֵ֔ל לֹֽא־ תוֹסִ֥יף ע֖וֹד לְהִנָּבֵ֑א כִּ֤י מִקְדַּשׁ־ מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ ה֔וּא וּבֵ֥ית מַמְלָכָ֖ה הֽוּא׃

DRB ¹⁴ Et Amos répondit et dit à Amatsia : Je n'étais pas prophète, et je n'étais pas fils de prophète ; mais je gardais le bétail, et je cueillais le fruit des sycomores ;

KJV ¹⁴ Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:

VULC ¹⁴ Responditque Amos, et dixit ad Amasiam : Non sum propheta, et non sum filius prophetæ : sed armentarius ego sum vellicans sycomoros.

DRB ¹⁵ et l'Éternel me prit quand je suivais le menu bétail, et l'Éternel me dit : Va, prophétise à mon peuple Israël.

KJV ¹⁵ And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

DRB ¹⁶ Et maintenant, écoute la parole de l'Éternel : Tu me dis : Ne prophétise pas contre Israël, et ne profère pas des paroles* contre la maison d'Isaac.

KJV ¹⁶ Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.

VULC ¹⁶ Et nunc audi verbum Domini : [Tu dicis : Non prophetabis super Israël,
et non stillabis super domum idoli.

WLC ¹⁶ וְעַתָּ֖ה שְׁמַ֣ע דְּבַר־ יְהוָ֑ה אַתָּ֣ה אֹמֵ֗ר לֹ֤א תִנָּבֵא֙ עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְלֹ֥א תַטִּ֖יף עַל־ בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂחָֽק׃

DRB ¹⁷ C'est pourquoi, ainsi dit l'Éternel : Ta femme se prostituera dans la ville, et tes fils et tes filles tomberont par l'épée, et ta terre sera partagée au cordeau, et tu mourras dans une terre impure, et Israël sera certainement transporté de dessus sa terre.

KJV ¹⁷ Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
