DRB ⁷ Tous les présidents du royaume, les préfets et les satrapes, les conseillers et les gouverneurs, ont tenu conseil ensemble pour établir un statut royal et mettre en vigueur une défense, [portant] que quiconque fera une demande à quelque dieu ou à quelque homme que ce soit durant trente jours, excepté à toi, ô roi, sera jeté dans la fosse aux lions.

KJV ⁷ All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

OST ⁷ Tous les chefs du royaume, les préfets, les satrapes, les conseillers et les gouverneurs sont d'avis d'établir une ordonnance royale et une défense expresse, portant que quiconque adressera une requête à quelque dieu ou à quelque homme pendant trente jours, excepté à toi, ô roi! sera jeté dans la fosse aux lions.

WLC ⁷ אֱ֠דַיִן סָרְכַיָּ֤א וַאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּא֙ אִלֵּ֔ן הַרְגִּ֖שׁוּ עַל־ מַלְכָּ֑א וְכֵן֙ אָמְרִ֣ין לֵ֔הּ דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֖א לְעָלְמִ֥ין חֱיִֽי׃

DRB ⁸ Maintenant, ô roi, établis la défense, et signe l'écrit afin qu'il ne soit pas changé, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui ne peut être abrogée.

KJV ⁸ Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

OST ⁸ Maintenant, ô roi! confirme la défense, et mets-la par écrit, afin qu'il n'y soit rien changé, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui est irrévocable.

DRB ⁹ À cause de cela, le roi Darius signa l'écrit et la défense.

KJV ⁹ Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.

DRB ¹⁰ Or Daniel, quand il sut que l'écrit était signé, entra dans sa maison ; et, ses fenêtres étant ouvertes dans sa chambre haute, du côté de Jérusalem, il s'agenouillait sur ses genoux trois fois le jour, et priait, et rendait grâce devant son Dieu, comme il avait fait auparavant.

KJV ¹⁰ Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

OST ¹⁰ Et quand Daniel eut appris que le décret était écrit, il entra dans sa maison, et, les fenêtres de sa chambre étant ouvertes du côté de Jérusalem, il se mettait trois fois le jour à genoux, et il priait et il célébrait son Dieu comme auparavant.

DRB ¹² Alors ils s'approchèrent et dirent devant le roi, touchant la défense du roi : N'as-tu pas signé une défense, [portant] que tout homme qui, durant trente jours, ferait une demande à quelque dieu ou à quelque homme que ce fût, excepté à toi, ô roi, serait jeté dans la fosse aux lions ? Le roi répondit et dit : La chose est certaine, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui ne peut être abrogée.

KJV ¹² Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

Le roi répondit et dit: La chose est certaine, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui est irrévocable.

KJV ¹³ Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

OST ¹³ Alors ils répondirent et dirent au roi: Daniel, qui est l'un des captifs de Juda, n'a eu aucun égard pour toi, ô roi! ni pour la défense que tu as écrite; mais trois fois le jour il fait sa prière à son Dieu.

DRB ¹⁴ Alors le roi, quand il entendit ces paroles, en fut fort affligé, et il pensa avec sollicitude à Daniel afin de le sauver, et jusqu'au coucher du soleil il s'efforça de le délivrer.

KJV ¹⁴ Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

OST ¹⁴ Le roi, ayant entendu cela, en eut un grand déplaisir; il prit à coeur de délivrer Daniel, et jusqu'au coucher du soleil il travailla à le sauver.

KJV ¹⁵ Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.

OST ¹⁵ Mais ces hommes se rendirent en tumulte vers le roi et lui dirent: Sache, ô roi! que c'est la loi des Mèdes et des Perses que toute défense ou tout décret confirmé par le roi ne se doit point changer.

DRB ¹⁶ Alors le roi donna des ordres, et on amena Daniel, et on le jeta dans la fosse aux lions. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel : Ton Dieu que tu sers continuellement, lui, te sauvera.

KJV ¹⁶ Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

OST ¹⁶ Alors le roi commanda qu'on amenât Daniel, et qu'on le jetât dans la fosse aux lions. Le roi prit la parole, et dit à Daniel: Puisse ton Dieu, que tu sers sans cesse, te délivrer lui-même!

DRB ¹⁷ Et une pierre fut apportée et mise sur l'ouverture de la fosse, et le roi la scella de son cachet et du cachet de ses grands, afin que l'intention à l'égard de Daniel ne fût pas changée.

KJV ¹⁷ And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.

OST ¹⁷ Et on apporta une pierre qui fut mise sur l'ouverture de la fosse, et le roi la scella de son anneau et de l'anneau de ses grands, afin que rien ne fût changé à l'égard de Daniel.
