¹ Voici les noms des enfants d'Israël venus en Égypte ; ‒ ils y vinrent avec Jacob, chacun avec sa famille ‒ ² Ruben, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, ³ Issachar, Zabulon, Benjamin, ⁴ Dan, Nephtali, Gad et Aser. ⁵ Toutes les personnes issues de Jacob étaient au nombre de soixante-dix, et Joseph était déjà en Égypte. ⁶ Joseph mourut, ainsi que tous ses frères et toute cette génération. ⁷ Les enfants d'Israël furent féconds et multiplièrent ; ils devinrent nombreux et très puissants, et le pays en fut rempli.

   ¹ Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob. ² Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, ³ Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin, ⁴ Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. ⁵ And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already. ⁶ And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. ⁷ And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

¹ Voici les noms des fils d'Israël venus en Egypte avec Jacob, chacun accompagné de sa famille: ² Ruben, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, ³ Issacar, Zabulon, Benjamin, ⁴ Dan, Nephthali, Gad et Aser. ⁵ Les personnes issues de Jacob étaient au nombre de 70 en tout. Joseph était alors en Egypte.
⁶ Puis Joseph mourut, ainsi que tous ses frères et toute cette génération-là. ⁷ Les Israélites eurent des enfants et pullulèrent; ils devinrent très nombreux et puissants, au point de remplir le pays.
