KJV ¹ When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;

KJV ³ And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land:

DRB ⁴ et l'autre Éliézer* : Car le Dieu de mon père m'a été en aide, et m'a délivré de l'épée du Pharaon.

KJV ⁴ And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:

DRB ⁵ Et Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, vint, avec les fils et la femme de Moïse, vers celui-ci, au désert où il était campé, à la montagne de Dieu ;

KJV ⁵ And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:

VULC ⁵ Venit ergo Jethro cognatus Moysi, et filii ejus, et uxor ejus ad Moysen in desertum, ubi erat castrametatus juxta montem Dei.

DRB ⁶ et il fit dire à Moïse : Moi, ton beau-père Jéthro, je suis venu vers toi, et ta femme, et ses deux fils avec elle.

KJV ⁶ And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.

VULC ⁶ Et mandavit Moysi, dicens : Ego Jethro cognatus tuus venio ad te, et uxor tua, et duo filii tui cum ea.

DRB ⁷ Et Moïse sortit à la rencontre de son beau-père, et se prosterna et le baisa ; et ils s'enquirent l'un de l'autre touchant leur bien-être, et entrèrent dans la tente.

KJV ⁷ And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.

DRB ⁸ Et Moïse raconta à son beau-père tout ce que l'Éternel avait fait au Pharaon et à l'Égypte à cause d'Israël, toute la fatigue qui les avait atteints en chemin, et comment l'Éternel les avait délivrés.

KJV ⁸ And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.

VULC ⁸ narravit Moyses cognato suo cuncta quæ fecerat Dominus Pharaoni et Ægyptiis propter Israël : universumque laborem, qui accidisset eis in itinere, et quod liberaverat eos Dominus.

DRB ⁹ Et Jéthro se réjouit de tout le bien que l'Éternel avait fait à Israël, en ce qu'il l'avait délivré de la main des Égyptiens.

KJV ⁹ And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

VULC ⁹ Lætatusque est Jethro super omnibus bonis, quæ fecerat Dominus Israëli, eo quod eruisset eum de manu Ægyptiorum.

DRB ¹⁰ Et Jéthro dit : Béni soit l'Éternel, qui vous a délivrés de la main des Égyptiens et de la main du Pharaon, - qui a délivré le peuple de dessous la main des Égyptiens !

KJV ¹⁰ And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

DRB ¹² Et Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, prit un holocauste et des sacrifices pour Dieu ; et Aaron et tous les anciens d'Israël vinrent pour manger le pain avec le beau-père de Moïse, en la présence de Dieu.

KJV ¹² And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.
