KJV ¹² And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

LSG ¹² Moïse dit à l'Éternel: Voici, tu me dis: Fais monter ce peuple ! Et tu ne me fais pas connaître qui tu enverras avec moi. Cependant, tu as dit: Je te connais par ton nom, et tu as trouvé grâce à mes yeux.

VULC ¹² Dixit autem Moyses ad Dominum : Præcipis ut educam populum istum : et non indicas mihi quem missurus es mecum, præsertim cum dixeris : Novi te ex nomine, et invenisti gratiam coram me.

KJV ¹³ Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

LSG ¹³ Maintenant, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, fais-moi connaître tes voies ; alors je te connaîtrai, et je trouverai encore grâce à tes yeux. Considère que cette nation est ton peuple.

VULC ¹³ Si ergo inveni gratiam in conspectu tuo, ostende mihi faciem tuam, ut sciam te, et inveniam gratiam ante oculos tuos : respice populum tuum gentem hanc.

KJV ¹⁴ And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

LSG ¹⁴ L'Éternel répondit: Je marcherai moi-même avec toi, et je te donnerai du repos.

VULC ¹⁴ Dixitque Dominus : Facies mea præcedet te, et requiem dabo tibi.

KJV ¹⁵ And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

LSG ¹⁵ Moïse lui dit: Si tu ne marches pas toi-même avec nous, ne nous fais point partir d'ici.

VULC ¹⁵ Et ait Moyses : Si non tu ipse præcedas, ne educas nos de loco isto.

KJV ¹⁶ For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

LSG ¹⁶ Comment sera-t-il donc certain que j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, moi et ton peuple ? Ne sera-ce pas quand tu marcheras avec nous, et quand nous serons distingués, moi et ton peuple, de tous les peuples qui sont sur la face de la terre ?

VULC ¹⁶ In quo enim scire poterimus ego et populus tuus invenisse nos gratiam in conspectu tuo, nisi ambulaveris nobiscum, ut glorificemur ab omnibus populis qui habitant super terram ?

KJV ¹⁷ And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

VULC ¹⁷ Dixit autem Dominus ad Moysen : Et verbum istud, quod locutus es, faciam : invenisti enim gratiam coram me, et teipsum novi ex nomine.

KJV ¹⁸ And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

LSG ¹⁸ Moïse dit: Fais-moi voir ta gloire !

VULC ¹⁸ Qui ait : Ostende mihi gloriam tuam.

KJV ¹⁹ And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

LSG ¹⁹ L'Éternel répondit: Je ferai passer devant toi toute ma bonté, et je proclamerai devant toi le nom de l'Éternel ; je fais grâce à qui je fais grâce, et miséricorde à qui je fais miséricorde.

VULC ¹⁹ Respondit : Ego ostendam omne bonum tibi, et vocabo in nomine Domini coram te : et miserebor cui voluero, et clemens ero in quem mihi placuerit.

KJV ²⁰ And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

LSG ²⁰ L'Éternel dit: Tu ne pourras pas voir ma face, car l'homme ne peut me voir et vivre.

VULC ²⁰ Rursumque ait : Non poteris videre faciem meam : non enim videbit me homo et vivet.

KJV ²¹ And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

LSG ²¹ L'Éternel dit: Voici un lieu près de moi ; tu te tiendras sur le rocher.

VULC ²¹ Et iterum : Ecce, inquit, est locus apud me, et stabis supra petram.

KJV ²² And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

LSG ²² Quand ma gloire passera, je te mettrai dans un creux du rocher, et je te couvrirai de ma main jusqu'à ce que j'aie passé.

VULC ²² Cumque transibit gloria mea, ponam te in foramine petræ, et protegam dextera mea, donec transeam :

KJV ²³ And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

LSG ²³ Et lorsque je retournerai ma main, tu me verras par derrière, mais ma face ne pourra pas être vue.

VULC ²³ tollamque manum meam, et videbis posteriora mea : faciem autem meam videre non poteris.
