KJV ¹⁴ And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.

KJV ¹⁵ Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.

VULC ¹⁵ Vade ad eum mane, ecce egredietur ad aquas : et stabis in occursum ejus super ripam fluminis : et virgam quæ conversa est in draconem, tolles in manu tua.

WLC ¹⁵ לֵ֣ךְ אֶל־ פַּרְעֹ֞ה בַּבֹּ֗קֶר הִנֵּה֙ יֹצֵ֣א הַמַּ֔יְמָה וְנִצַּבְתָּ֥ לִקְרָאת֖וֹ עַל־ שְׂפַ֣ת הַיְאֹ֑ר וְהַמַּטֶּ֛ה אֲשֶׁר־ נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ לְנָחָ֖שׁ תִּקַּ֥ח בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃

KJV ¹⁶ And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.

VULC ¹⁶ Dicesque ad eum : Dominus Deus Hebræorum misit me ad te, dicens : Dimitte populum meum ut sacrificet mihi in deserto : et usque ad præsens audire noluisti.

KJV ¹⁷ Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

VULC ¹⁷ Hæc igitur dicit Dominus : In hoc scies quod sim Dominus : ecce percutiam virga, quæ in manu mea est, aquam fluminis, et vertetur in sanguinem.

KJV ¹⁸ And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.

VULC ¹⁸ Pisces quoque, qui sunt in fluvio, morientur, et computrescent aquæ, et affligentur Ægyptii bibentes aquam fluminis.

WLC ¹⁸ וְהַדָּגָ֧ה אֲשֶׁר־ בַּיְאֹ֛ר תָּמ֖וּת וּבָאַ֣שׁ הַיְאֹ֑ר וְנִלְא֣וּ מִצְרַ֔יִם לִשְׁתּ֥וֹת מַ֖יִם מִן־ הַיְאֹֽר׃

KJV ¹⁹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.

KJV ²⁰ And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

VULC ²⁰ Feceruntque Moyses et Aaron sicut præceperat Dominus : et elevans virgam percussit aquam fluminis coram Pharaone et servis ejus : quæ versa est in sanguinem.

KJV ²¹ And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

VULC ²¹ Et pisces, qui erant in flumine, mortui sunt : computruitque fluvius, et non poterant Ægyptii bibere aquam fluminis, et fuit sanguis in tota terra Ægypti.

WLC ²¹ וְהַדָּגָ֨ה אֲשֶׁר־ בַּיְאֹ֥ר מֵ֙תָה֙ וַיִּבְאַ֣שׁ הַיְאֹ֔ר וְלֹא־ יָכְל֣וּ מִצְרַ֔יִם לִשְׁתּ֥וֹת מַ֖יִם מִן־ הַיְאֹ֑ר וַיְהִ֥י הַדָּ֖ם בְּכָל־ אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ²² And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.

VULC ²² Feceruntque similiter malefici Ægyptiorum incantationibus suis : et induratum est cor Pharaonis, nec audivit eos, sicut præceperat Dominus.

WLC ²² וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־ כֵ֛ן חַרְטֻמֵּ֥י מִצְרַ֖יִם בְּלָטֵיהֶ֑ם וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק לֵב־ פַּרְעֹה֙ וְלֹא־ שָׁמַ֣ע אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ²³ And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.

VULC ²³ Avertitque se, et ingressus est domum suam, nec apposuit cor etiam hac vice.

WLC ²³ וַיִּ֣פֶן פַּרְעֹ֔ה וַיָּבֹ֖א אֶל־ בֵּית֑וֹ וְלֹא־ שָׁ֥ת לִבּ֖וֹ גַּם־ לָזֹֽאת׃

KJV ²⁴ And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

VULC ²⁴ Foderunt autem omnes Ægyptii per circuitum fluminis aquam ut biberent : non enim poterant bibere de aqua fluminis.

WLC ²⁴ וַיַּחְפְּר֧וּ כָל־ מִצְרַ֛יִם סְבִיבֹ֥ת הַיְאֹ֖ר מַ֣יִם לִשְׁתּ֑וֹת כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָֽכְלוּ֙ לִשְׁתֹּ֔ת מִמֵּימֵ֖י הַיְאֹֽר׃

KJV ²⁵ And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river.

VULC ²⁵ Impletique sunt septem dies, postquam percussit Dominus fluvium.

WLC ²⁵ וַיִּמָּלֵ֖א שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֑ים אַחֲרֵ֥י הַכּוֹת־ יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ הַיְאֹֽר׃
