BCC ⁹ Puis Abram s'avança, de campement en campement, vers le Midi.

KJV ⁹ And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.

BCC ¹⁰ Il y eut une famine dans le pays, et Abram descendit en Égypte pour y séjourner ; car la famine était grande dans le pays.

KJV ¹⁰ And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

WLC ¹⁰ וַיְהִ֥י רָעָ֖ב בָּאָ֑רֶץ וַיֵּ֨רֶד אַבְרָ֤ם מִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙ לָג֣וּר שָׁ֔ם כִּֽי־ כָבֵ֥ד הָרָעָ֖ב בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

BCC ¹¹ Comme il était près d'entrer en Égypte, il dit à Saraï, sa femme : « Voici, je sais que tu es une belle femme ; quand les Égyptiens te verront, ils diront :

KJV ¹¹ And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

WLC ¹¹ וַיְהִ֕י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הִקְרִ֖יב לָב֣וֹא מִצְרָ֑יְמָה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ שָׂרַ֣י אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ הִנֵּה־ נָ֣א יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּ֛י אִשָּׁ֥ה יְפַת־ מַרְאֶ֖ה אָֽתְּ׃

BCC ¹² "C'est sa femme", et ils me tueront et te laisseront vivre.

KJV ¹² Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.

WLC ¹² וְהָיָ֗ה כִּֽי־ יִרְא֤וּ אֹתָךְ֙ הַמִּצְרִ֔ים וְאָמְר֖וּ אִשְׁתּ֣וֹ זֹ֑את וְהָרְג֥וּ אֹתִ֖י וְאֹתָ֥ךְ יְחַיּֽוּ׃

BCC ¹³ Dis donc que tu es ma soeur, afin que je sois bien traité à cause de toi, et qu'on me laisse la vie par égard pour toi. »

KJV ¹³ Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.

WLC ¹³ אִמְרִי־ נָ֖א אֲחֹ֣תִי אָ֑תְּ לְמַ֙עַן֙ יִֽיטַב־ לִ֣י בַעֲבוּרֵ֔ךְ וְחָיְתָ֥ה נַפְשִׁ֖י בִּגְלָלֵֽךְ׃

BCC ¹⁴ Lorsque Abram fut arrivé en Égypte, les Égyptiens virent que sa femme était fort belle.

KJV ¹⁴ And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.

WLC ¹⁴ וַיְהִ֕י כְּב֥וֹא אַבְרָ֖ם מִצְרָ֑יְמָה וַיִּרְא֤וּ הַמִּצְרִים֙ אֶת־ הָ֣אִשָּׁ֔ה כִּֽי־ יָפָ֥ה הִ֖וא מְאֹֽד׃

BCC ¹⁵ Les grands de Pharaon, l'ayant vue, la vantèrent à Pharaon, et cette femme fut prise et emmenée dans la maison de Pharaon.

KJV ¹⁵ The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

WLC ¹⁵ וַיִּרְא֤וּ אֹתָהּ֙ שָׂרֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה וַיְהַֽלְל֥וּ אֹתָ֖הּ אֶל־ פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַתֻּקַּ֥ח הָאִשָּׁ֖ה בֵּ֥ית פַּרְעֹֽה׃

BCC ¹⁶ Il traita bien Abram à cause d'elle, et Abram reçut des brebis, des boeufs, des ânes, des serviteurs et des servantes, des ânesses et des chameaux.

KJV ¹⁶ And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.

WLC ¹⁶ וּלְאַבְרָ֥ם הֵיטִ֖יב בַּעֲבוּרָ֑הּ וַֽיְהִי־ ל֤וֹ צֹאן־ וּבָקָר֙ וַחֲמֹרִ֔ים וַעֲבָדִים֙ וּשְׁפָחֹ֔ת וַאֲתֹנֹ֖ת וּגְמַלִּֽים׃

BCC ¹⁷ Mais Yahweh frappa de grandes plaies Pharaon et sa maison, à cause de Saraï, femme d'Abram.

KJV ¹⁷ And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיְנַגַּ֨ע יְהוָ֧ה ׀ אֶת־ פַּרְעֹ֛ה נְגָעִ֥ים גְּדֹלִ֖ים וְאֶת־ בֵּית֑וֹ עַל־ דְּבַ֥ר שָׂרַ֖י אֵ֥שֶׁת אַבְרָֽם׃

BCC ¹⁸ Pharaon appela alors Abram et lui dit : « Qu'est-ce que tu m'as fait ? Pourquoi ne m'as-tu pas déclaré qu'elle était ta femme ?

KJV ¹⁸ And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?

WLC ¹⁸ וַיִּקְרָ֤א פַרְעֹה֙ לְאַבְרָ֔ם וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מַה־ זֹּ֖את עָשִׂ֣יתָ לִּ֑י לָ֚מָּה לֹא־ הִגַּ֣דְתָּ לִּ֔י כִּ֥י אִשְׁתְּךָ֖ הִֽוא׃

BCC ¹⁹ Pourquoi as-tu dit : "C'est ma soeur" ; de sorte que je l'ai prise pour femme ? Maintenant, voici ta femme ; prends-la et va-t'en ! »

KJV ¹⁹ Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

WLC ¹⁹ לָמָ֤ה אָמַ֙רְתָּ֙ אֲחֹ֣תִי הִ֔וא וָאֶקַּ֥ח אֹתָ֛הּ לִ֖י לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וְעַתָּ֕ה הִנֵּ֥ה אִשְׁתְּךָ֖ קַ֥ח וָלֵֽךְ׃

BCC ²⁰ Et Pharaon, ayant donné des ordres à ses gens au sujet d'Abram, ils le renvoyèrent, lui et sa femme, et tout ce qui lui appartenait.

KJV ²⁰ And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

WLC ²⁰ וַיְצַ֥ו עָלָ֛יו פַּרְעֹ֖ה אֲנָשִׁ֑ים וַֽיְשַׁלְּח֥וּ אֹת֛וֹ וְאֶת־ אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ וְאֶת־ כָּל־ אֲשֶׁר־ לֽוֹ׃

BCC ¹ Abram remonta d'Égypte vers le Midi, lui, sa femme et tout ce qui lui appartenait, et Lot avec lui.

KJV ¹ And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

WLC ¹ וַיַּעַל֩ אַבְרָ֨ם מִמִּצְרַ֜יִם ה֠וּא וְאִשְׁתּ֧וֹ וְכָל־ אֲשֶׁר־ ל֛וֹ וְל֥וֹט עִמּ֖וֹ הַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃

BCC ² Or Abram était fort riche en troupeaux, en argent et en or.

KJV ² And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

WLC ² וְאַבְרָ֖ם כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֑ד בַּמִּקְנֶ֕ה בַּכֶּ֖סֶף וּבַזָּהָֽב׃
