KJV ¹⁰ And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

LSG ¹⁰ Il y eut une famine dans le pays ; et Abram descendit en Égypte pour y séjourner, car la famine était grande dans le pays.

WLC ¹⁰ וַיְהִ֥י רָעָ֖ב בָּאָ֑רֶץ וַיֵּ֨רֶד אַבְרָ֤ם מִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙ לָג֣וּר שָׁ֔ם כִּֽי־ כָבֵ֥ד הָרָעָ֖ב בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ¹¹ And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

LSG ¹¹ Comme il était près d'entrer en Égypte, il dit à Saraï, sa femme: Voici, je sais que tu es une femme belle de figure.

WLC ¹¹ וַיְהִ֕י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הִקְרִ֖יב לָב֣וֹא מִצְרָ֑יְמָה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ שָׂרַ֣י אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ הִנֵּה־ נָ֣א יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּ֛י אִשָּׁ֥ה יְפַת־ מַרְאֶ֖ה אָֽתְּ׃

KJV ¹² Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.

LSG ¹² Quand les Égyptiens te verront, ils diront: C'est sa femme ! Et ils me tueront, et te laisseront la vie.

WLC ¹² וְהָיָ֗ה כִּֽי־ יִרְא֤וּ אֹתָךְ֙ הַמִּצְרִ֔ים וְאָמְר֖וּ אִשְׁתּ֣וֹ זֹ֑את וְהָרְג֥וּ אֹתִ֖י וְאֹתָ֥ךְ יְחַיּֽוּ׃

KJV ¹³ Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.

KJV ¹⁴ And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.

LSG ¹⁴ Lorsque Abram fut arrivé en Égypte, les Égyptiens virent que la femme était fort belle.

KJV ¹⁵ The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

LSG ¹⁵ Les grands de Pharaon la virent aussi et la vantèrent à Pharaon ; et la femme fut emmenée dans la maison de Pharaon.

WLC ¹⁵ וַיִּרְא֤וּ אֹתָהּ֙ שָׂרֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה וַיְהַֽלְל֥וּ אֹתָ֖הּ אֶל־ פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַתֻּקַּ֥ח הָאִשָּׁ֖ה בֵּ֥ית פַּרְעֹֽה׃

KJV ¹⁶ And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.

LSG ¹⁶ Il traita bien Abram à cause d'elle ; et Abram reçut des brebis, des boeufs, des ânes, des serviteurs et des servantes, des ânesses, et des chameaux.

WLC ¹⁶ וּלְאַבְרָ֥ם הֵיטִ֖יב בַּעֲבוּרָ֑הּ וַֽיְהִי־ ל֤וֹ צֹאן־ וּבָקָר֙ וַחֲמֹרִ֔ים וַעֲבָדִים֙ וּשְׁפָחֹ֔ת וַאֲתֹנֹ֖ת וּגְמַלִּֽים׃

KJV ¹⁷ And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.

LSG ¹⁷ Mais l'Éternel frappa de grandes plaies Pharaon et sa maison, au sujet de Saraï, femme d'Abram.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיְנַגַּ֨ע יְהוָ֧ה ׀ אֶת־ פַּרְעֹ֛ה נְגָעִ֥ים גְּדֹלִ֖ים וְאֶת־ בֵּית֑וֹ עַל־ דְּבַ֥ר שָׂרַ֖י אֵ֥שֶׁת אַבְרָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁸ And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?

LSG ¹⁸ Alors Pharaon appela Abram, et dit: Qu'est-ce que tu m'as fait ? Pourquoi ne m'as-tu pas déclaré que c'est ta femme ?

WLC ¹⁸ וַיִּקְרָ֤א פַרְעֹה֙ לְאַבְרָ֔ם וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מַה־ זֹּ֖את עָשִׂ֣יתָ לִּ֑י לָ֚מָּה לֹא־ הִגַּ֣דְתָּ לִּ֔י כִּ֥י אִשְׁתְּךָ֖ הִֽוא׃

KJV ¹⁹ Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

LSG ¹⁹ Pourquoi as-tu dit: C'est ma soeur ? Aussi l'ai-je prise pour ma femme. Maintenant, voici ta femme, prends-la, et va-t-en !

WLC ¹⁹ לָמָ֤ה אָמַ֙רְתָּ֙ אֲחֹ֣תִי הִ֔וא וָאֶקַּ֥ח אֹתָ֛הּ לִ֖י לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וְעַתָּ֕ה הִנֵּ֥ה אִשְׁתְּךָ֖ קַ֥ח וָלֵֽךְ׃

KJV ²⁰ And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

LSG ²⁰ Et Pharaon donna ordre à ses gens de le renvoyer, lui et sa femme, avec tout ce qui lui appartenait.

KJV ¹ And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

KJV ² And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

LSG ² Abram était très riche en troupeaux, en argent et en or.

WLC ² וְאַבְרָ֖ם כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֑ד בַּמִּקְנֶ֕ה בַּכֶּ֖סֶף וּבַזָּהָֽב׃
