KJV ² And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

WLC ² וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אַבְרָ֗ם אֲדֹנָ֤י יֱהוִה֙ מַה־ תִּתֶּן־ לִ֔י וְאָנֹכִ֖י הוֹלֵ֣ךְ עֲרִירִ֑י וּבֶן־ מֶ֣שֶׁק בֵּיתִ֔י ה֖וּא דַּמֶּ֥שֶׂק אֱלִיעֶֽזֶר׃

BCC ³ Et Abram dit : « Voici, vous ne m'avez pas donné de postérité, et un homme attaché à ma maison sera mon héritier. »

KJV ³ And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

WLC ³ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אַבְרָ֔ם הֵ֣ן לִ֔י לֹ֥א נָתַ֖תָּה זָ֑רַע וְהִנֵּ֥ה בֶן־ בֵּיתִ֖י יוֹרֵ֥שׁ אֹתִֽי׃

BCC ⁴ Alors la parole de Yahweh lui fut adressée en ces termes : « Ce n'est pas lui qui sera ton héritier, mais celui qui sortira de tes entrailles sera ton héritier. »

KJV ⁴ And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

WLC ⁴ וְהִנֵּ֨ה דְבַר־ יְהוָ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֥א יִֽירָשְׁךָ֖ זֶ֑ה כִּי־ אִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵצֵ֣א מִמֵּעֶ֔יךָ ה֖וּא יִֽירָשֶֽׁךָ׃

BCC ⁵ Et, l'ayant conduit dehors, il dit : « Lève ton regard vers le ciel et compte les étoiles, si tu peux les compter. » Et il lui dit : « Telle sera ta postérité. »
