DRB ¹ Car la loi, ayant l'ombre des biens à venir, non l'image même des choses, ne peut jamais, par les mêmes sacrifices que l'on offre continuellement chaque année, rendre parfaits ceux qui s'approchent.

KJV ¹ For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

DRB ² Autrement n'eussent-ils pas cessé d'être offerts, puisque ceux qui rendent le culte, étant une fois purifiés, n'auraient plus eu aucune conscience de péchés ?

KJV ² For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

DRB ³ Mais il y a dans ces [sacrifices], chaque année, un acte remémoratif de péchés.

KJV ³ But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

DRB ⁴ Car il est impossible que le sang de taureaux et de boucs ôte les péchés.

KJV ⁴ For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

DRB ⁵ C'est pourquoi, en entrant dans le monde, il dit : «Tu n'as pas voulu de sacrifice ni d'offrande, mais tu m'as formé un corps.

KJV ⁵ Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

DRB ⁶ Tu n'as pas pris plaisir aux holocaustes ni aux sacrifices pour le péché ;

KJV ⁶ In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

DRB ⁷ alors j'ai dit : Voici, je viens, - il est écrit de moi dans* le rouleau du livre - pour faire, ô Dieu, ta volonté» {Psaume 40:6-8}.

KJV ⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

DRB ⁸ Ayant dit plus haut* : «Tu n'as pas voulu de sacrifices, ni d'offrandes, ni d'holocaustes, ni de sacrifices pour le péché, et tu n'y as pas pris plaisir» - lesquels sont offerts selon la loi,

KJV ⁸ Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

DRB ⁹ - alors il dit : «Voici, je viens pour faire ta volonté». Il ôte le premier afin d'établir le second.

KJV ⁹ Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

DRB ¹⁰ C'est par cette volonté que nous avons été sanctifiés, par l'offrande du corps de Jésus Christ [faite] une fois pour toutes.

KJV ¹⁰ By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

DRB ¹¹ - Et tout sacrificateur se tient debout chaque jour, faisant le service et offrant souvent les mêmes sacrifices qui ne peuvent jamais ôter les péchés ;

KJV ¹¹ And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

DRB ¹² mais celui-ci, ayant offert un seul sacrifice pour les péchés, s'est assis à perpétuité à la droite de Dieu,

KJV ¹² But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

DRB ¹³ attendant désormais «jusqu'à ce que ses ennemis soient mis pour marchepied de ses pieds» {Psaume 110:1}.

KJV ¹³ From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

DRB ¹⁴ Car, par une seule offrande, il a rendu parfaits à perpétuité ceux qui sont sanctifiés.

KJV ¹⁴ For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

DRB ¹⁵ Et l'Esprit Saint aussi nous en rend témoignage ; car,

KJV ¹⁵ Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

DRB ¹⁶ après avoir dit : «C'est ici l'alliance que j'établirai pour eux après ces jours-là, dit le Seigneur : En mettant* mes lois dans leurs cœurs, je les écrirai aussi sur leurs entendements»,

KJV ¹⁶ This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

DRB ¹⁷ [il dit] : «Et je ne me souviendrai plus jamais* de leurs péchés ni de leurs iniquités**» {Jérémie 31:33-34}.

KJV ¹⁷ And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

DRB ¹⁸ Or, là où il y a rémission de ces choses, il n'y a plus d'offrande pour le péché.

KJV ¹⁸ Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
