BCC ⁶ Il y eut un homme, envoyé de Dieu ; son nom était Jean.

KJV ⁶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

BCC ⁷ Celui-ci vint en témoignage, pour rendre témoignage à la lumière, afin que tous crussent par lui :

KJV ⁷ The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

BCC ⁸ non que celui-ci fût la lumière, mais il avait à rendre témoignage à la lumière.

KJV ⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

BCC ⁹ La lumière, la vraie, celle qui éclaire tout homme, venait dans le monde.

KJV ⁹ That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

BCC ¹⁰ Il (le Verbe) était dans le monde, et le monde par lui a été fait, et le monde ne l'a pas connu.

KJV ¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

BCC ¹¹ Il vint chez lui, et les siens ne l'ont pas reçu.

KJV ¹¹ He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

BCC ¹² Mais quant à tous ceux qui l'ont reçu, Il leur a donné le pouvoir de devenir enfants de Dieu, à ceux qui croient en son nom,
