KJV 1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:

KJV 2 To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

VULC 2 Quod factum est verbum Domini ad eum in diebus Josiæ filii Amon, regis Juda, in tertiodecimo anno regni ejus.

WLC 2 אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֤ה דְבַר־ יְהוָה֙ אֵלָ֔יו בִּימֵ֛י יֹאשִׁיָּ֥הוּ בֶן־ אָמ֖וֹן מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה בִּשְׁלֹשׁ־ עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה שָׁנָ֖ה לְמָלְכֽוֹ׃

KJV 3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

VULC 3 Et factum est in diebus Joakim filii Josiæ, regis Juda, usque ad consummationem undecimi anni Sedeciæ, filii Josiæ, regis Juda, usque ad transmigrationem Jerusalem, in mense quinto.

WLC 3 וַיְהִ֗י בִּימֵ֨י יְהוֹיָקִ֤ים בֶּן־ יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה עַד־ תֹּם֙ עַשְׁתֵּ֣י עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה לְצִדְקִיָּ֥הוּ בֶן־ יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה עַד־ גְּל֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִֽׁי׃

KJV 4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

WLC 4 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

VULC 5 [Priusquam te formarem in utero, novi te,
et antequam exires de vulva, sanctificavi te,
et prophetam in gentibus dedi te.]

WLC 5 בְּטֶ֨רֶם בַבֶּ֙טֶן֙ יְדַעְתִּ֔יךָ וּבְטֶ֛רֶם תֵּצֵ֥א מֵרֶ֖חֶם הִקְדַּשְׁתִּ֑יךָ נָבִ֥יא לַגּוֹיִ֖ם נְתַתִּֽיךָ׃

KJV 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

VULC 6 Et dixi : [A, a, a, Domine Deus, ecce nescio loqui,
quia puer ego sum.]

WLC 6 וָאֹמַ֗ר אֲהָהּ֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהֹוִ֔ה הִנֵּ֥ה לֹא־ יָדַ֖עְתִּי דַּבֵּ֑ר כִּי־ נַ֖עַר אָנֹֽכִי׃

KJV 7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

VULC 7 Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Noli dicere : Puer sum :
quoniam ad omnia quæ mittam te ibis,
et universa quæcumque mandavero tibi loqueris.

WLC 7 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֵלַ֔י אַל־ תֹּאמַ֖ר נַ֣עַר אָנֹ֑כִי כִּ֠י עַֽל־ כָּל־ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֶֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֙ תֵּלֵ֔ךְ וְאֵ֛ת כָּל־ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲצַוְּךָ֖ תְּדַבֵּֽר׃

KJV 8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

VULC 8 Ne timeas a facie eorum,
quia tecum ego sum ut eruam te,
dicit Dominus.]

WLC 8 אַל־ תִּירָ֖א מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם כִּֽי־ אִתְּךָ֥ אֲנִ֛י לְהַצִּלֶ֖ךָ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV 9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

VULC 9 Et misit Dominus manum suam, et tetigit os meum, et dixit Dominus ad me : [Ecce dedi verba mea in ore tuo :

WLC 9 וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת־ יָד֔וֹ וַיַּגַּ֖ע עַל־ פִּ֑י וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֵלַ֔י הִנֵּ֛ה נָתַ֥תִּי דְבָרַ֖י בְּפִֽיךָ׃

KJV 10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

VULC 10 ecce constitui te hodie
super gentes et super regna,
ut evellas, et destruas,
et disperdas, et dissipes,
et ædifices, et plantes.]

WLC 10 רְאֵ֞ה הִפְקַדְתִּ֣יךָ ׀ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֗ה עַל־ הַגּוֹיִם֙ וְעַל־ הַמַּמְלָכ֔וֹת לִנְת֥וֹשׁ וְלִנְת֖וֹץ וּלְהַאֲבִ֣יד וְלַהֲר֑וֹס לִבְנ֖וֹת וְלִנְטֽוֹעַ׃

KJV 11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

VULC 11 Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens : [Quid tu vides, Jeremia ?] Et dixi : [Virgam vigilantem ego video.]

WLC 11 וַיְהִ֤י דְבַר־ יְהוָה֙ אֵלַ֣י לֵאמֹ֔ר מָה־ אַתָּ֥ה רֹאֶ֖ה יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ וָאֹמַ֕ר מַקֵּ֥ל שָׁקֵ֖ד אֲנִ֥י רֹאֶֽה׃

KJV 12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

VULC 12 Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Bene vidisti :
quia vigilabo ego super verbo meo,
ut faciam illud.]

WLC 12 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יְהוָ֛ה אֵלַ֖י הֵיטַ֣בְתָּ לִרְא֑וֹת כִּֽי־ שֹׁקֵ֥ד אֲנִ֛י עַל־ דְּבָרִ֖י לַעֲשֹׂתֽוֹ׃

KJV 13 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.

VULC 13 Et factum est verbum Domini secundo ad me, dicens : [Quid tu vides ?] Et dixi : [Ollam succensam ego video,
et faciem ejus a facie aquilonis.]

WLC 13 וַיְהִ֨י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֤ה ׀ אֵלַי֙ שֵׁנִ֣ית לֵאמֹ֔ר מָ֥ה אַתָּ֖ה רֹאֶ֑ה וָאֹמַ֗ר סִ֤יר נָפ֙וּחַ֙ אֲנִ֣י רֹאֶ֔ה וּפָנָ֖יו מִפְּנֵ֥י צָפֽוֹנָה׃

KJV 14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

VULC 14 Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Ab aquilone pandetur malum
super omnes habitatores terræ :

WLC 14 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י מִצָּפוֹן֙ תִּפָּתַ֣ח הָרָעָ֔ה עַ֥ל כָּל־ יֹשְׁבֵ֖י הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV 15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

VULC 15 quia ecce ego convocabo omnes cognationes regnorum aquilonis,
ait Dominus :
et venient, et ponent unusquisque solium suum
in introitu portarum Jerusalem,
et super omnes muros ejus in circuitu,
et super universas urbes Juda :

WLC 15 כִּ֣י ׀ הִנְנִ֣י קֹרֵ֗א לְכָֽל־ מִשְׁפְּח֛וֹת מַמְלְכ֥וֹת צָפ֖וֹנָה נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וּבָ֡אוּ וְֽנָתְנוּ֩ אִ֨ישׁ כִּסְא֜וֹ פֶּ֣תַח ׀ שַׁעֲרֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם וְעַ֤ל כָּל־ חוֹמֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ סָבִ֔יב וְעַ֖ל כָּל־ עָרֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃

KJV 16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

VULC 16 et loquar judicia mea cum eis
super omnem malitiam eorum qui dereliquerunt me,
et libaverunt diis alienis,
et adoraverunt opus manuum suarum.

WLC 16 וְדִבַּרְתִּ֤י מִשְׁפָּטַי֙ אוֹתָ֔ם עַ֖ל כָּל־ רָעָתָ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲזָב֗וּנִי וַֽיְקַטְּרוּ֙ לֵאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ לְמַעֲשֵׂ֥י יְדֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV 17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

VULC 17 Tu ergo, accinge lumbos tuos,
et surge, et loquere ad eos
omnia quæ ego præcipio tibi.
Ne formides a facie eorum,
nec enim timere te faciam vultum eorum.

WLC 17 וְאַתָּה֙ תֶּאְזֹ֣ר מָתְנֶ֔יךָ וְקַמְתָּ֙ וְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אֵ֛ת כָּל־ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י אֲצַוֶּ֑ךָּ אַל־ תֵּחַת֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם פֶּֽן־ אֲחִתְּךָ֖ לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV 18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.

VULC 18 Ego quippe dedi te hodie in civitatem munitam,
et in columnam ferream,
et in murum æreum,
super omnem terram,
regibus Juda, principibus ejus,
et sacerdotibus, et populo terræ.

WLC 18 וַאֲנִ֞י הִנֵּ֧ה נְתַתִּ֣יךָ הַיּ֗וֹם לְעִ֨יר מִבְצָ֜ר וּלְעַמּ֥וּד בַּרְזֶ֛ל וּלְחֹמ֥וֹת נְחֹ֖שֶׁת עַל־ כָּל־ הָאָ֑רֶץ לְמַלְכֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ לְשָׂרֶ֔יהָ לְכֹהֲנֶ֖יהָ וּלְעַ֥ם הָאָֽרֶץ׃

KJV 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

VULC 19 Et bellabunt adversum te,
et non prævalebunt,
quia ego tecum sum, ait Dominus, ut liberem te.]

WLC 19 וְנִלְחֲמ֥וּ אֵלֶ֖יךָ וְלֹא־ י֣וּכְלוּ לָ֑ךְ כִּֽי־ אִתְּךָ֥ אֲנִ֛י נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֖ה לְהַצִּילֶֽךָ׃

KJV 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

WLC 1 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

KJV 2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

VULC 2 [Vade, et clama in auribus Jerusalem, dicens :
Hæc dicit Dominus :
Recordatus sum tui, miserans adolescentiam tuam,
et caritatem desponsationis tuæ,
quando secuta es me in deserto,
in terra quæ non seminatur.

WLC 2 הָלֹ֡ךְ וְקָֽרָאתָ֩ בְאָזְנֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה זָכַ֤רְתִּי לָךְ֙ חֶ֣סֶד נְעוּרַ֔יִךְ אַהֲבַ֖ת כְּלוּלֹתָ֑יִךְ לֶכְתֵּ֤ךְ אַחֲרַי֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר בְּאֶ֖רֶץ לֹ֥א זְרוּעָֽה׃

KJV 3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.

VULC 3 Sanctus Israël Domino,
primitiæ frugum ejus :
omnes qui devorant eum delinquunt :
mala venient super eos,
dicit Dominus.

KJV 4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

VULC 4 Audite verbum Domini, domus Jacob,
et omnes cognationes domus Israël.

WLC 4 שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה בֵּ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְכָֽל־ מִשְׁפְּח֖וֹת בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV 5 Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

VULC 5 Hæc dicit Dominus :
Quid invenerunt patres vestri in me iniquitatis,
quia elongaverunt a me,
et ambulaverunt post vanitatem,
et vani facti sunt ?

WLC 5 כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה מַה־ מָּצְא֨וּ אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֥ם בִּי֙ עָ֔וֶל כִּ֥י רָחֲק֖וּ מֵעָלָ֑י וַיֵּֽלְכ֛וּ אַחֲרֵ֥י הַהֶ֖בֶל וַיֶּהְבָּֽלוּ׃

KJV 6 Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

VULC 6 Et non dixerunt : Ubi est Dominus
qui ascendere nos fecit de terra Ægypti ;
qui traduxit nos per desertum,
per terram inhabitabilem et inviam,
per terram sitis, et imaginem mortis,
per terram in qua non ambulavit vir,
neque habitavit homo ?

WLC 6 וְלֹ֣א אָמְר֔וּ אַיֵּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה הַמַּעֲלֶ֥ה אֹתָ֖נוּ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם הַמּוֹלִ֨יךְ אֹתָ֜נוּ בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר בְּאֶ֨רֶץ עֲרָבָ֤ה וְשׁוּחָה֙ בְּאֶ֙רֶץ֙ צִיָּ֣ה וְצַלְמָ֔וֶת בְּאֶ֗רֶץ לֹֽא־ עָ֤בַר בָּהּ֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־ יָשַׁ֥ב אָדָ֖ם שָֽׁם׃

KJV 7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

VULC 7 Et induxi vos in terram Carmeli,
ut comederetis fructum ejus et optima illius :
et ingressi contaminastis terram meam,
et hæreditatem meam posuistis in abominationem.

WLC 7 וָאָבִ֤יא אֶתְכֶם֙ אֶל־ אֶ֣רֶץ הַכַּרְמֶ֔ל לֶאֱכֹ֥ל פִּרְיָ֖הּ וְטוּבָ֑הּ וַתָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ וַתְּטַמְּא֣וּ אֶת־ אַרְצִ֔י וְנַחֲלָתִ֥י שַׂמְתֶּ֖ם לְתוֹעֵבָֽה׃

KJV 8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

VULC 8 Sacerdotes non dixerunt : Ubi est Dominus ?
et tenentes legem nescierunt me,
et pastores prævaricati sunt in me,
et prophetæ prophetaverunt in Baal,
et idola secuti sunt.

WLC 8 הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים לֹ֤א אָֽמְרוּ֙ אַיֵּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה וְתֹפְשֵׂ֤י הַתּוֹרָה֙ לֹ֣א יְדָע֔וּנִי וְהָרֹעִ֖ים פָּ֣שְׁעוּ בִ֑י וְהַנְּבִיאִים֙ נִבְּא֣וּ בַבַּ֔עַל וְאַחֲרֵ֥י לֹֽא־ יוֹעִ֖לוּ הָלָֽכוּ׃

KJV 9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.

VULC 9 Propterea adhuc judicio contendam vobiscum, ait Dominus,
et cum filiis vestris disceptabo.

WLC 9 לָכֵ֗ן עֹ֛ד אָרִ֥יב אִתְּכֶ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וְאֶת־ בְּנֵ֥י בְנֵיכֶ֖ם אָרִֽיב׃

KJV 10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

VULC 10 Transite ad insulas Cethim, et videte :
et in Cedar mittite, et considerate vehementer :
et videte si factum est hujuscemodi :

WLC 10 כִּ֣י עִבְר֞וּ אִיֵּ֤י כִתִּיִּים֙ וּרְא֔וּ וְקֵדָ֛ר שִׁלְח֥וּ וְהִֽתְבּוֹנְנ֖וּ מְאֹ֑ד וּרְא֕וּ הֵ֥ן הָיְתָ֖ה כָּזֹֽאת׃

KJV 11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

VULC 11 si mutavit gens deos suos,
et certe ipsi non sunt dii :
populus vero meus mutavit gloriam suam in idolum.

WLC 11 הַהֵימִ֥יר גּוֹי֙ אֱלֹהִ֔ים וְהֵ֖מָּה לֹ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְעַמִּ֛י הֵמִ֥יר כְּבוֹד֖וֹ בְּל֥וֹא יוֹעִֽיל׃

KJV 12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.

VULC 12 Obstupescite, cæli, super hoc,
et portæ ejus, desolamini vehementer, dicit Dominus.

WLC 12 שֹׁ֥מּוּ שָׁמַ֖יִם עַל־ זֹ֑את וְשַׂעֲר֛וּ חָרְב֥וּ מְאֹ֖ד נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV 13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

VULC 13 Duo enim mala fecit populus meus :
me dereliquerunt fontem aquæ vivæ,
et foderunt sibi cisternas, cisternas dissipatas,
quæ continere non valent aquas.

WLC 13 כִּֽי־ שְׁתַּ֥יִם רָע֖וֹת עָשָׂ֣ה עַמִּ֑י אֹתִ֨י עָזְב֜וּ מְק֣וֹר ׀ מַ֣יִם חַיִּ֗ים לַחְצֹ֤ב לָהֶם֙ בֹּאר֔וֹת בֹּארֹת֙ נִשְׁבָּרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־ יָכִ֖לוּ הַמָּֽיִם׃

KJV 14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?

VULC 14 Numquid servus est Israël, aut vernaculus ?
quare ergo factus est in prædam ?

WLC 14 הַעֶ֙בֶד֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אִם־ יְלִ֥יד בַּ֖יִת ה֑וּא מַדּ֖וּעַ הָיָ֥ה לָבַֽז׃

KJV 15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.

VULC 15 Super eum rugierunt leones,
et dederunt vocem suam :
posuerunt terram ejus in solitudinem.
Civitates ejus exustæ sunt,
et non est qui habitet in eis.

WLC 15 עָלָיו֙ יִשְׁאֲג֣וּ כְפִרִ֔ים נָתְנ֖וּ קוֹלָ֑ם וַיָּשִׁ֤יתוּ אַרְצוֹ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה עָרָ֥יו מִבְּלִ֥י יֹשֵֽׁב׃

KJV 16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.

VULC 16 Filii quoque Mempheos et Taphnes
constupraverunt te usque ad verticem.

WLC 16 גַּם־ בְּנֵי־ נֹ֖ף יִרְע֖וּךְ קָדְקֹֽד׃

KJV 17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?

VULC 17 Numquid non istud factum est tibi,
quia dereliquisti Dominum Deum tuum
eo tempore quo ducebat te per viam ?

WLC 17 הֲלוֹא־ זֹ֖את תַּעֲשֶׂה־ לָּ֑ךְ עָזְבֵךְ֙ אֶת־ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהַ֔יִךְ בְּעֵ֖ת מוֹלִיכֵ֥ךְ בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃

KJV 7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

KJV 8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

KJV 9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

KJV 11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

KJV 13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

WLC 13 אַ֚ךְ דְּעִ֣י עֲוֺנֵ֔ךְ כִּ֛י בַּיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהַ֖יִךְ פָּשָׁ֑עַתְּ וַתְּפַזְּרִ֨י אֶת־ דְּרָכַ֜יִךְ לַזָּרִ֗ים תַּ֚חַת כָּל־ עֵ֣ץ רַעֲנָ֔ן וּבְקוֹלִ֥י לֹא־ שְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ם נְאֻם־ יְהֹוָֽה׃

KJV 14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

VULC 14 Convertimini, filii revertentes, dicit Dominus,
quia ego vir vester :
et assumam vos unum de civitate,
et duos de cognatione,
et introducam vos in Sion.

KJV 15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

KJV 16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

KJV 17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.

KJV 18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

KJV 19 But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

KJV 22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

KJV 23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

KJV 25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.

KJV 5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

KJV 6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

KJV 8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.

KJV 10 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

KJV 11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

KJV 12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.

KJV 13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

KJV 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

KJV 15 For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.

KJV 16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

KJV 17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.

KJV 18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.

KJV 19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

KJV 20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

KJV 21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

WLC 21 עַד־ מָתַ֖י אֶרְאֶה־ נֵּ֑ס אֶשְׁמְעָ֖ה ק֥וֹל שׁוֹפָֽר׃

KJV 22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

KJV 18 Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.

KJV 19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not your's.

KJV 20 Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,

KJV 22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

KJV 23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

KJV 25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

KJV 26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

KJV 28 They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
