DRB ² Et j'achetai une ceinture, selon la parole de l'Éternel, et je la mis sur mes reins.

KJV ² So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.

VULC ² Et possedi lumbare juxta verbum Domini, et posui circa lumbos meos.

WLC ² וָאֶקְנֶ֥ה אֶת־ הָאֵז֖וֹר כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה וָאָשִׂ֖ם עַל־ מָתְנָֽי׃

DRB ³ Et la parole de l'Éternel vint à moi pour la seconde fois, disant :

KJV ³ And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,

VULC ³ Et factus est sermo Domini ad me secundo, dicens :

WLC ³ וַיְהִ֧י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֛ה אֵלַ֖י שֵׁנִ֥ית לֵאמֹֽר׃

DRB ⁴ Prends la ceinture que tu as achetée, qui est sur tes reins, et lève-toi, va vers l'Euphrate, et là, cache-la dans le creux d'un rocher.

KJV ⁴ Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.

VULC ⁴ Tolle lumbare quod possedisti, quod est circa lumbos tuos : et surgens vade ad Euphraten, et absconde ibi illud in foramine petræ.

WLC ⁴ קַ֧ח אֶת־ הָאֵז֛וֹר אֲשֶׁ֥ר קָנִ֖יתָ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־ מָתְנֶ֑יךָ וְקוּם֙ לֵ֣ךְ פְּרָ֔תָה וְטָמְנֵ֥הוּ שָׁ֖ם בִּנְקִ֥יק הַסָּֽלַע׃

DRB ⁵ Et je m'en allai, et la cachai dans l'Euphrate, comme l'Éternel m'avait commandé.

KJV ⁵ So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.

VULC ⁵ Et abii, et abscondi illud in Euphrate, sicut præceperat mihi Dominus.

WLC ⁵ וָאֵלֵ֕ךְ וָאֶטְמְנֵ֖הוּ בִּפְרָ֑ת כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אוֹתִֽי׃

DRB ⁶ Et il arriva, à la fin de plusieurs jours, que l'Éternel me dit : Lève-toi, va vers l'Euphrate, et prends de là la ceinture que je t'avais commandé d'y cacher.

KJV ⁶ And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

VULC ⁶ Et factum est post dies plurimos, dixit Dominus ad me : Surge, vade ad Euphraten, et tolle inde lumbare quod præcepi tibi ut absconderes illud ibi.

WLC ⁶ וַיְהִ֕י מִקֵּ֖ץ יָמִ֣ים רַבִּ֑ים וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י ק֚וּם לֵ֣ךְ פְּרָ֔תָה וְקַ֤ח מִשָּׁם֙ אֶת־ הָ֣אֵז֔וֹר אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּיתִ֖יךָ לְטָמְנוֹ־ שָֽׁם׃

DRB ⁷ Et je m'en allai vers l'Euphrate, et je creusai, et je pris la ceinture du lieu où je l'avais cachée ; et voici, la ceinture était gâtée, elle n'était plus bonne à rien.

KJV ⁷ Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.

VULC ⁷ Et abii ad Euphraten, et fodi, et tuli lumbare de loco ubi absconderam illud : et ecce computruerat lumbare, ita ut nulli usui aptum esset.

WLC ⁸ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

DRB ⁹ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : C'est ainsi que je détruirai l'orgueil de Juda, et le grand orgueil de Jérusalem.

KJV ⁹ Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

VULC ⁹ [Hæc dicit Dominus :
Sic putrescere faciam superbiam Juda,
et superbiam Jerusalem multam :

WLC ⁹ כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה כָּ֠כָה אַשְׁחִ֞ית אֶת־ גְּא֧וֹן יְהוּדָ֛ה וְאֶת־ גְּא֥וֹן יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם הָרָֽב׃

DRB ¹⁰ Ce peuple mauvais, qui refuse d'écouter mes paroles, qui marche dans l'obstination de son cœur, et qui marche après d'autres dieux pour les servir et pour se prosterner devant eux, sera comme cette ceinture qui n'est bonne à rien.

KJV ¹⁰ This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

DRB ¹¹ Car, comme une ceinture s'attache aux reins d'un homme, ainsi je me suis attaché toute la maison d'Israël et toute la maison de Juda, dit l'Éternel, pour être mon peuple, et un renom, et une louange, et un ornement* ; mais ils n'ont pas écouté.

KJV ¹¹ For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
