KJV ¹ Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.

KJV ² So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.

LSG ² J'achetai la ceinture, selon la parole de l'Éternel, et je la mis sur mes reins.

KJV ³ And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,

LSG ³ La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée une seconde fois, en ces mots:

KJV ⁴ Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.

LSG ⁴ Prends la ceinture que tu as achetée, et qui est sur tes reins ; lève-toi, va vers l'Euphrate, et là, cache-la dans la fente d'un rocher.

KJV ⁵ So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.

LSG ⁵ J'allai, et je la cachai près de l'Euphrate, comme l'Éternel me l'avait ordonné.

KJV ⁶ And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

LSG ⁶ Plusieurs jours après, l'Éternel me dit: Lève-toi, va vers l'Euphrate, et là, prends la ceinture que je t'avais ordonné d'y cacher.

KJV ⁷ Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.

LSG ⁷ J'allai vers l'Euphrate, je fouillai, et je pris la ceinture dans le lieu où je l'avais cachée ; mais voici, la ceinture était gâtée, elle n'était plus bonne à rien.

KJV ⁸ Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

LSG ⁸ La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

KJV ⁹ Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.

LSG ⁹ Ainsi parle l'Éternel: C'est ainsi que je détruirai l'orgueil de Juda Et l'orgueil immense de Jérusalem.

KJV ¹⁰ This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

LSG ¹⁰ Ce méchant peuple, qui refuse d'écouter mes paroles, Qui suit les penchants de son coeur, Et qui va après d'autres dieux, Pour les servir et se prosterner devant eux, Qu'il devienne comme cette ceinture, Qui n'est plus bonne à rien !

KJV ¹¹ For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

LSG ¹¹ Car comme on attache la ceinture aux reins d'un homme, Ainsi je m'étais attaché toute la maison d'Israël Et toute la maison de Juda, dit l'Éternel, Afin qu'elles fussent mon peuple, Mon nom, ma louange, et ma gloire. Mais ils ne m'ont point écouté.
