WLC ¹ הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה אֶֽל־ יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

DRB ² Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, disant : Écris pour toi dans un livre toutes les paroles que je t'ai dites.

KJV ² Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

WLC ² כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר כְּתָב־ לְךָ֗ אֵ֧ת כָּל־ הַדְּבָרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־ דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי אֵלֶ֖יךָ אֶל־ סֵֽפֶר׃

DRB ³ Car voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, où je rétablirai les captifs de mon peuple Israël et Juda, dit l'Éternel ; et je les ferai retourner au pays que j'ai donné à leurs pères, et ils le posséderont.

KJV ³ For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

WLC ³ כִּ֠י הִנֵּ֨ה יָמִ֤ים בָּאִים֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וְ֠שַׁבְתִּי אֶת־ שְׁב֨וּת עַמִּ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וִֽיהוּדָ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֗ים אֶל־ הָאָ֛רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־ נָתַ֥תִּי לַאֲבוֹתָ֖ם וִֽירֵשֽׁוּהָ׃

DRB ⁴ Et ce sont ici les paroles que l'Éternel a dites touchant Israël et touchant Juda ; car ainsi dit l'Éternel :

KJV ⁴ And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

WLC ⁴ וְאֵ֣לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְאֶל־ יְהוּדָֽה׃

DRB ⁵ Nous entendons la voix de la frayeur ; il y a la peur, et point de paix.

KJV ⁵ For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

WLC ⁵ כִּי־ כֹה֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה ק֥וֹל חֲרָדָ֖ה שָׁמָ֑עְנוּ פַּ֖חַד וְאֵ֥ין שָׁלֽוֹם׃

DRB ⁶ Demandez, je vous prie, et voyez si un mâle enfante. Pourquoi vois-je tout homme tenant ses mains sur ses reins comme une femme qui enfante, et pourquoi tous les visages sont-ils devenus pâles ? Hélas ! que cette journée est grande !

KJV ⁶ Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

WLC ⁶ שַׁאֲלוּ־ נָ֣א וּרְא֔וּ אִם־ יֹלֵ֖ד זָכָ֑ר מַדּוּעַ֩ רָאִ֨יתִי כָל־ גֶּ֜בֶר יָדָ֤יו עַל־ חֲלָצָיו֙ כַּיּ֣וֹלֵדָ֔ה וְנֶהֶפְכ֥וּ כָל־ פָּנִ֖ים לְיֵרָקֽוֹן׃

DRB ⁷ Il n'y en a point de semblable ; et c'est le temps de la détresse pour Jacob, mais il en sera sauvé.

KJV ⁷ Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

WLC ⁷ ה֗וֹי כִּ֥י גָד֛וֹל הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא מֵאַ֣יִן כָּמֹ֑הוּ וְעֵֽת־ צָרָ֥ה הִיא֙ לְיַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וּמִמֶּ֖נָּה יִוָּשֵֽׁעַ׃

DRB ⁸ Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, dit l'Éternel des armées, que je briserai son joug de dessus ton cou, et que je romprai tes liens, et les étrangers ne se serviront plus de lui* ;

KJV ⁸ For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

WLC ⁸ וְהָיָה֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא נְאֻ֣ם ׀ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת אֶשְׁבֹּ֤ר עֻלּוֹ֙ מֵעַ֣ל צַוָּארֶ֔ךָ וּמוֹסְרוֹתֶ֖יךָ אֲנַתֵּ֑ק וְלֹא־ יַעַבְדוּ־ ב֥וֹ ע֖וֹד זָרִֽים׃

DRB ⁹ et ils serviront l'Éternel, leur Dieu, et David, leur roi, lequel je leur susciterai.

KJV ⁹ But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

WLC ⁹ וְעָ֣בְד֔וּ אֵ֖ת יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם וְאֵת֙ דָּוִ֣ד מַלְכָּ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָקִ֖ים לָהֶֽם׃

DRB ¹⁰ Et toi, mon serviteur Jacob, ne crains point, dit l'Éternel, et ne t'effraye pas, Israël ! car voici, je te sauve d'un [pays] lointain, et ta semence, du pays de leur captivité, et Jacob reviendra, et sera tranquille et en repos, et il n'y aura personne qui l'effraye.

KJV ¹⁰ Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאַתָּ֡ה אַל־ תִּירָא֩ עַבְדִּ֨י יַעֲקֹ֤ב נְאֻם־ יְהֹוָה֙ וְאַל־ תֵּחַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֠י הִנְנִ֤י מוֹשִֽׁיעֲךָ֙ מֵֽרָח֔וֹק וְאֶֽת־ זַרְעֲךָ֖ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ שִׁבְיָ֑ם וְשָׁ֧ב יַעֲקֹ֛ב וְשָׁקַ֥ט וְשַׁאֲנַ֖ן וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃

DRB ¹¹ Car je suis avec toi, dit l'Éternel, pour te sauver ; car je détruirai entièrement* toutes les nations où je t'ai dispersé ; mais quant à toi, je ne te détruirai pas entièrement*, mais je te corrigerai avec mesure*, et je ne te tiendrai point pour innocent.

KJV ¹¹ For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

WLC ¹¹ כִּֽי־ אִתְּךָ֥ אֲנִ֛י נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֖ה לְהֽוֹשִׁיעֶ֑ךָ כִּי֩ אֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה כָלָ֜ה בְּכָֽל־ הַגּוֹיִ֣ם ׀ אֲשֶׁ֧ר הֲפִצוֹתִ֣יךָ שָּׁ֗ם אַ֤ךְ אֹֽתְךָ֙ לֹֽא־ אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה כָלָ֔ה וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט וְנַקֵּ֖ה לֹ֥א אֲנַקֶּֽךָּ׃

DRB ¹² Car ainsi dit l'Éternel : Ta blessure* est incurable, ta plaie est difficile à guérir.

KJV ¹² For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

WLC ¹² כִּ֣י כֹ֥ה אָמַ֛ר יְהוָ֖ה אָנ֣וּשׁ לְשִׁבְרֵ֑ךְ נַחְלָ֖ה מַכָּתֵֽךְ׃

DRB ¹³ Nul ne défend ta cause pour bander [ta plaie] ; il n'y a point de remèdes, [point] de guérison pour toi.

KJV ¹³ There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

WLC ¹³ אֵֽין־ דָּ֥ן דִּינֵ֖ךְ לְמָז֑וֹר רְפֻא֥וֹת תְּעָלָ֖ה אֵ֥ין לָֽךְ׃

DRB ¹⁴ Tous tes amants t'ont oubliée, ils ne te recherchent pas ; car je t'ai frappée d'une plaie d'ennemi, d'une correction d'homme cruel, à cause de la grandeur de ton iniquité : tes péchés se sont renforcés.

KJV ¹⁴ All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.

WLC ¹⁴ כָּל־ מְאַהֲבַ֣יִךְ שְׁכֵח֔וּךְ אוֹתָ֖ךְ לֹ֣א יִדְרֹ֑שׁוּ כִּי֩ מַכַּ֨ת אוֹיֵ֤ב הִכִּיתִיךְ֙ מוּסַ֣ר אַכְזָרִ֔י עַ֚ל רֹ֣ב עֲוֺנֵ֔ךְ עָצְמ֖וּ חַטֹּאתָֽיִךְ׃

DRB ¹⁵ Pourquoi cries-tu à cause de ton brisement* ? Ta douleur est incurable ; je t'ai fait ces choses à cause de la grandeur de ton iniquité, [parce que] tes péchés se sont renforcés.

KJV ¹⁵ Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

WLC ¹⁵ מַה־ תִּזְעַק֙ עַל־ שִׁבְרֵ֔ךְ אָנ֖וּשׁ מַכְאֹבֵ֑ךְ עַ֣ל ׀ רֹ֣ב עֲוֺנֵ֗ךְ עָֽצְמוּ֙ חַטֹּאתַ֔יִךְ עָשִׂ֥יתִי אֵ֖לֶּה לָֽךְ׃

DRB ¹⁶ C'est pourquoi tous ceux qui te dévorent seront dévorés, et tous tes ennemis oui, tous, iront en captivité, et ceux qui te dépouillent seront dépouillés, et tous ceux qui te pillent je les livrerai au pillage.

KJV ¹⁶ Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

WLC ¹⁶ לָכֵ֞ן כָּל־ אֹכְלַ֙יִךְ֙ יֵאָכֵ֔לוּ וְכָל־ צָרַ֥יִךְ כֻּלָּ֖ם בַּשְּׁבִ֣י יֵלֵ֑כוּ וְהָי֤וּ שֹׁאסַ֙יִךְ֙ לִמְשִׁסָּ֔ה וְכָל־ בֹּזְזַ֖יִךְ אֶתֵּ֥ן לָבַֽז׃

DRB ¹⁷ Car je t'appliquerai un appareil et je te guérirai de tes plaies, dit l'Éternel ; car ils t'ont appelée la Chassée : c'est Sion, que personne ne recherche !

KJV ¹⁷ For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

WLC ¹⁷ כִּי֩ אַעֲלֶ֨ה אֲרֻכָ֥ה לָ֛ךְ וּמִמַּכּוֹתַ֥יִךְ אֶרְפָּאֵ֖ךְ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֤י נִדָּחָה֙ קָ֣רְאוּ לָ֔ךְ צִיּ֣וֹן הִ֔יא דֹּרֵ֖שׁ אֵ֥ין לָֽהּ׃

DRB ¹⁸ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Voici, je rétablirai les captifs des tentes de Jacob, et j'aurai compassion de ses demeures ; et la ville sera bâtie sur le monceau de ses ruines, et le palais sera habité selon sa coutume.

KJV ¹⁸ Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

WLC ¹⁸ כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה הִנְנִי־ שָׁב֙ שְׁבוּת֙ אָהֳלֵ֣י יַֽעֲק֔וֹב וּמִשְׁכְּנֹתָ֖יו אֲרַחֵ֑ם וְנִבְנְתָ֥ה עִיר֙ עַל־ תִּלָּ֔הּ וְאַרְמ֖וֹן עַל־ מִשְׁפָּט֥וֹ יֵשֵֽׁב׃

DRB ¹⁹ Et il en sortira la louange et la voix de gens qui s'égaient ; et je les multiplierai, et ils ne seront pas diminués ; et je les glorifierai, et ils ne seront pas amoindris.

KJV ¹⁹ And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

WLC ¹⁹ וְיָצָ֥א מֵהֶ֛ם תּוֹדָ֖ה וְק֣וֹל מְשַׂחֲקִ֑ים וְהִרְבִּתִים֙ וְלֹ֣א יִמְעָ֔טוּ וְהִכְבַּדְתִּ֖ים וְלֹ֥א יִצְעָֽרוּ׃

DRB ²⁰ Et ses fils seront comme jadis, et son assemblée sera affermie devant moi, et je punirai tous ses oppresseurs.

KJV ²⁰ Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.

WLC ²⁰ וְהָי֤וּ בָנָיו֙ כְּקֶ֔דֶם וַעֲדָת֖וֹ לְפָנַ֣י תִּכּ֑וֹן וּפָ֣קַדְתִּ֔י עַ֖ל כָּל־ לֹחֲצָֽיו׃

DRB ²¹ Et son chef sera de lui, et son dominateur sortira du milieu de lui ; et je le ferai approcher, et il viendra à moi ; car qui est celui qui engage son cœur pour venir à moi ? dit l'Éternel.

KJV ²¹ And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.

WLC ²¹ וְהָיָ֨ה אַדִּיר֜וֹ מִמֶּ֗נּוּ וּמֹֽשְׁלוֹ֙ מִקִּרְבּ֣וֹ יֵצֵ֔א וְהִקְרַבְתִּ֖יו וְנִגַּ֣שׁ אֵלָ֑י כִּי֩ מִ֨י הוּא־ זֶ֜ה עָרַ֧ב אֶת־ לִבּ֛וֹ לָגֶ֥שֶׁת אֵלַ֖י נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ²² Et vous serez mon peuple, et moi je serai votre Dieu.

KJV ²² And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

WLC ²² וִהְיִ֥יתֶם לִ֖י לְעָ֑ם וְאָ֣נֹכִ֔י אֶהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם לֵאלֹהִֽים׃

DRB ²³ Voici, une tempête de l'Éternel, la fureur, est sortie ; une tempête continue* fondra sur la tête des méchants.

KJV ²³ Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.

WLC ²³ הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ סַעֲרַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה חֵמָה֙ יָֽצְאָ֔ה סַ֖עַר מִתְגּוֹרֵ֑ר עַ֛ל רֹ֥אשׁ רְשָׁעִ֖ים יָחֽוּל׃

DRB ²⁴ L'ardeur de la colère de l'Éternel ne retournera pas, jusqu'à ce qu'il ait exécuté et accompli les pensées de son cœur. À la fin des jours vous le comprendrez.

KJV ²⁴ The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he hath done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.

WLC ²⁴ לֹ֣א יָשׁ֗וּב חֲרוֹן֙ אַף־ יְהוָ֔ה עַד־ עֲשֹׂת֥וֹ וְעַד־ הֲקִימ֖וֹ מְזִמּ֣וֹת לִבּ֑וֹ בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית הַיָּמִ֖ים תִּתְבּ֥וֹנְנוּ בָֽהּ׃

DRB ¹ En ce temps-là, dit l'Éternel, je serai le Dieu de toutes les familles d'Israël, et ils seront mon peuple.

KJV ¹ At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

WLC ¹ בָּעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה אֶֽהְיֶה֙ לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים לְכֹ֖ל מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהֵ֖מָּה יִֽהְיוּ־ לִ֥י לְעָֽם׃

DRB ² Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Le peuple des réchappés de l'épée a trouvé grâce dans le désert ; je m'en vais donner du repos à Israël.

KJV ² Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

WLC ² כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה מָצָ֥א חֵן֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר עַ֖ם שְׂרִ֣ידֵי חָ֑רֶב הָל֥וֹךְ לְהַרְגִּיע֖וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

DRB ³ L'Éternel m'est apparu de loin : Je t'ai aimée d'un amour éternel ; c'est pourquoi je t'attire avec bonté*.

KJV ³ The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

WLC ³ מֵרָח֕וֹק יְהוָ֖ה נִרְאָ֣ה לִ֑י וְאַהֲבַ֤ת עוֹלָם֙ אֲהַבְתִּ֔יךְ עַל־ כֵּ֖ן מְשַׁכְתִּ֥יךְ חָֽסֶד׃

DRB ⁴ Je te bâtirai encore, et tu seras bâtie, vierge d'Israël ! Tu te pareras encore de tes tambourins, et tu sortiras dans la danse de ceux qui s'égaient.

KJV ⁴ Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

WLC ⁴ ע֤וֹד אֶבְנֵךְ֙ וְֽנִבְנֵ֔ית בְּתוּלַ֖ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל ע֚וֹד תַּעְדִּ֣י תֻפַּ֔יִךְ וְיָצָ֖את בִּמְח֥וֹל מְשַׂחֲקִֽים׃

DRB ⁵ Tu planteras encore des vignes sur les montagnes de Samarie ; les planteurs les planteront, et en mangeront le fruit*.

KJV ⁵ Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

WLC ⁵ ע֚וֹד תִּטְּעִ֣י כְרָמִ֔ים בְּהָרֵ֖י שֹֽׁמְר֑וֹן נָטְע֥וּ נֹטְעִ֖ים וְחִלֵּֽלוּ׃

DRB ⁶ Car il y a un jour auquel les gardes crieront sur la montagne d'Éphraïm : Levez-vous, et nous monterons à Sion, vers l'Éternel, notre Dieu.

KJV ⁶ For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.

WLC ⁶ כִּ֣י יֶשׁ־ י֔וֹם קָרְא֥וּ נֹצְרִ֖ים בְּהַ֣ר אֶפְרָ֑יִם ק֚וּמוּ וְנַעֲלֶ֣ה צִיּ֔וֹן אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

DRB ⁷ Car ainsi dit l'Éternel : Exultez d'allégresse au sujet de Jacob, et poussez des cris de joie, à la tête* des nations ; faites éclater la louange, et dites : Éternel, sauve ton peuple, le reste d'Israël.

KJV ⁷ For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.

WLC ⁷ כִּי־ כֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה רָנּ֤וּ לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ שִׂמְחָ֔ה וְצַהֲל֖וּ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ הַגּוֹיִ֑ם הַשְׁמִ֤יעוּ הַֽלְלוּ֙ וְאִמְר֔וּ הוֹשַׁ֤ע יְהוָה֙ אֶֽת־ עַמְּךָ֔ אֵ֖ת שְׁאֵרִ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

DRB ⁸ Voici, je les fais venir du pays du nord, et je les rassemble des extrémités de la terre, [et] parmi eux l'aveugle et le boiteux, la femme enceinte et celle qui enfante, [tous] ensemble, - une grande congrégation : ils retourneront ici.

KJV ⁸ Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

WLC ⁸ הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אוֹתָ֜ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֗וֹן וְקִבַּצְתִּים֮ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־ אָרֶץ֒ בָּ֚ם עִוֵּ֣ר וּפִסֵּ֔חַ הָרָ֥ה וְיֹלֶ֖דֶת יַחְדָּ֑ו קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל יָשׁ֥וּבוּ הֵֽנָּה׃

DRB ⁹ Ils viendront avec des larmes, et je les conduirai avec des supplications ; je les ferai marcher vers des torrents d'eaux par un chemin droit ; ils n'y trébucheront pas ; car je serai pour père à Israël, et Éphraïm sera mon premier-né.

KJV ⁹ They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

WLC ⁹ בִּבְכִ֣י יָבֹ֗אוּ וּֽבְתַחֲנוּנִים֮ אֽוֹבִילֵם֒ אֽוֹלִיכֵם֙ אֶל־ נַ֣חֲלֵי מַ֔יִם בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יָשָׁ֔ר לֹ֥א יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ בָּ֑הּ כִּֽי־ הָיִ֤יתִי לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְאָ֔ב וְאֶפְרַ֖יִם בְּכֹ֥רִי הֽוּא׃

DRB ¹⁰ Nations, écoutez la parole de l'Éternel, et annoncez-la aux îles éloignées, et dites : Celui qui a dispersé Israël le rassemblera et le gardera comme un berger son troupeau.

KJV ¹⁰ Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

DRB ¹¹ Car l'Éternel a délivré Jacob, et l'a racheté de la main d'un plus fort que lui.

KJV ¹¹ For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

WLC ¹¹ כִּֽי־ פָדָ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶֽת־ יַעֲקֹ֑ב וּגְאָל֕וֹ מִיַּ֖ד חָזָ֥ק מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

DRB ¹² Et ils viendront et exulteront avec chant de triomphe sur les hauteurs de Sion, et ils afflueront vers les biens de l'Éternel, au blé, et au moût, et à l'huile, et au fruit du menu et du gros bétail ; et leur âme sera comme un jardin arrosé, et ils ne seront plus languissants.

KJV ¹² Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

WLC ¹² וּבָאוּ֮ וְרִנְּנ֣וּ בִמְרוֹם־ צִיּוֹן֒ וְנָהֲר֞וּ אֶל־ ט֣וּב יְהוָ֗ה עַל־ דָּגָן֙ וְעַל־ תִּירֹ֣שׁ וְעַל־ יִצְהָ֔ר וְעַל־ בְּנֵי־ צֹ֖אן וּבָקָ֑ר וְהָיְתָ֤ה נַפְשָׁם֙ כְּגַ֣ן רָוֶ֔ה וְלֹא־ יוֹסִ֥יפוּ לְדַאֲבָ֖ה עֽוֹד׃

DRB ¹³ Alors la vierge se réjouira dans la danse, et les jeunes gens et les vieillards, [tous] ensemble. Et je changerai leur deuil en allégresse, et je les consolerai, et je les réjouirai [en les délivrant] de leur douleur ;

KJV ¹³ Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

WLC ¹³ אָ֣ז תִּשְׂמַ֤ח בְּתוּלָה֙ בְּמָח֔וֹל וּבַחֻרִ֥ים וּזְקֵנִ֖ים יַחְדָּ֑ו וְהָפַכְתִּ֨י אֶבְלָ֤ם לְשָׂשׂוֹן֙ וְנִ֣חַמְתִּ֔ים וְשִׂמַּחְתִּ֖ים מִיגוֹנָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁴ et je rassasierai de graisse l'âme des sacrificateurs, et mon peuple sera rassasié de mes biens, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

WLC ¹⁴ וְרִוֵּיתִ֛י נֶ֥פֶשׁ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים דָּ֑שֶׁן וְעַמִּ֛י אֶת־ טוּבִ֥י יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁵ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Une voix a été ouïe à Rama, une lamentation, des pleurs amers, Rachel pleurant ses fils, refusant d'être consolée au sujet de ses fils, parce qu'ils ne sont pas.

KJV ¹⁵ Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

WLC ¹⁵ כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה ק֣וֹל בְּרָמָ֤ה נִשְׁמָע֙ נְהִי֙ בְּכִ֣י תַמְרוּרִ֔ים רָחֵ֖ל מְבַכָּ֣ה עַל־ בָּנֶ֑יהָ מֵאֲנָ֛ה לְהִנָּחֵ֥ם עַל־ בָּנֶ֖יהָ כִּ֥י אֵינֶֽנּוּ׃

DRB ¹⁶ Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Retiens ta voix de pleurer et tes yeux [de verser] des larmes ; car il y a un salaire pour ton travail, dit l'Éternel ; et ils reviendront du pays de l'ennemi.

KJV ¹⁶ Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

DRB ¹⁷ Et il y a espoir pour ta fin, dit l'Éternel, et tes fils reviendront dans leurs confins.

KJV ¹⁷ And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

WLC ¹⁷ וְיֵשׁ־ תִּקְוָ֥ה לְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וְשָׁ֥בוּ בָנִ֖ים לִגְבוּלָֽם׃

DRB ¹⁸ J'ai très bien entendu Éphraïm se lamentant : Tu m'as corrigé, et j'ai été corrigé comme un veau indompté ; convertis-moi, et je serai converti*, car tu es l'Éternel, mon Dieu.

DRB ¹⁹ Car, après que j'ai été converti*, je me suis repenti ; et, après que je me suis connu, j'ai frappé sur ma cuisse ; j'ai été honteux, et j'ai aussi été confus, car je porte l'opprobre de ma jeunesse.

KJV ¹⁹ Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

DRB ²⁰ Éphraïm m'est-il un fils précieux, un enfant de prédilection ? Car depuis que j'ai parlé contre lui, je me souviens de lui encore constamment ; c'est pourquoi mes entrailles se sont émues pour lui ; certainement j'aurai compassion de lui, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ²⁰ Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

WLC ²⁰ הֲבֵן֩ יַקִּ֨יר לִ֜י אֶפְרַ֗יִם אִ֚ם יֶ֣לֶד שַׁעֲשֻׁעִ֔ים כִּֽי־ מִדֵּ֤י דַבְּרִי֙ בּ֔וֹ זָכֹ֥ר אֶזְכְּרֶ֖נּוּ ע֑וֹד עַל־ כֵּ֗ן הָמ֤וּ מֵעַי֙ ל֔וֹ רַחֵ֥ם אֲ‍ֽרַחֲמֶ֖נּוּ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ²¹ Dresse-toi des signaux, place-toi des poteaux, mets ton cœur au chemin battu*, au chemin par lequel tu es venue. Retourne, vierge d'Israël, retourne à ces tiennes villes.

KJV ²¹ Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.

WLC ²¹ הַצִּ֧יבִי לָ֣ךְ צִיֻּנִ֗ים שִׂ֤מִי לָךְ֙ תַּמְרוּרִ֔ים שִׁ֣תִי לִבֵּ֔ךְ לַֽמְסִלָּ֖ה דֶּ֣רֶךְ שׁ֚וּבִי בְּתוּלַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שֻׁ֖בִי אֶל־ עָרַ֥יִךְ אֵֽלֶּה׃

DRB ²² Jusques à quand seras-tu errante, fille infidèle ? Car l'Éternel a créé une chose nouvelle sur la terre : une femme entourera l'homme.

KJV ²² How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

WLC ²² עַד־ מָתַי֙ תִּתְחַמָּקִ֔ין הַבַּ֖ת הַשּֽׁוֹבֵבָ֑ה כִּֽי־ בָרָ֨א יְהוָ֤ה חֲדָשָׁה֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ נְקֵבָ֖ה תְּס֥וֹבֵֽב גָּֽבֶר׃

DRB ²³ Ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël : On dira encore cette parole dans le pays de Juda et dans ses villes, quand j'aurai rétabli leurs captifs : L'Éternel te bénisse, demeure de justice, montagne de sainteté !

KJV ²³ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

DRB ²⁴ Et Juda y habitera, et toutes ses villes ensemble, les laboureurs, et ceux qui partent avec les troupeaux.

KJV ²⁴ And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.

WLC ²⁴ וְיָ֥שְׁבוּ בָ֛הּ יְהוּדָ֥ה וְכָל־ עָרָ֖יו יַחְדָּ֑ו אִכָּרִ֕ים וְנָסְע֖וּ בַּעֵֽדֶר׃

DRB ²⁵ Car j'ai rassasié l'âme lassée, et j'ai rempli toute âme languissante. -

KJV ²⁵ For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

DRB ²⁶ Là-dessus je me suis réveillé, et j'ai regardé, et mon sommeil m'a été doux.

KJV ²⁶ Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.

DRB ²⁷ Voici, des jours viennent, dit l'Éternel, où j'ensemencerai la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda de semence d'hommes et de semence de bêtes.

KJV ²⁷ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.

DRB ²⁸ Et il arrivera que, comme j'ai veillé sur eux pour arracher, et pour démolir, et pour renverser, et pour détruire, et pour faire du mal, ainsi je veillerai sur eux pour bâtir et pour planter, dit l'Éternel.

KJV ²⁸ And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.

DRB ²⁹ En ces jours-là on ne dira plus : Les pères ont mangé du raisin vert et les dents des fils en sont agacées.

KJV ²⁹ In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.

WLC ²⁹ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם לֹא־ יֹאמְר֣וּ ע֔וֹד אָב֖וֹת אָ֣כְלוּ בֹ֑סֶר וְשִׁנֵּ֥י בָנִ֖ים תִּקְהֶֽינָה׃

DRB ³⁰ Car chacun mourra dans son iniquité : tout homme qui mangera du raisin vert, en aura ses dents agacées.

KJV ³⁰ But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
