KJV ² Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

S21 ² «Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Ecris dans un livre toutes les paroles que je t'ai dites.

WLC ² כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר כְּתָב־ לְךָ֗ אֵ֧ת כָּל־ הַדְּבָרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־ דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי אֵלֶ֖יךָ אֶל־ סֵֽפֶר׃

KJV ³ For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

S21 ³ En effet, voici que les jours viennent, déclare l'Eternel, où je ramènerai les déportés de mon peuple, d'Israël et de Juda. Voilà ce que dit l'Eternel. Je les ferai revenir dans le pays que j'ai donné à leurs ancêtres, et ils en prendront possession.»

WLC ³ כִּ֠י הִנֵּ֨ה יָמִ֤ים בָּאִים֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וְ֠שַׁבְתִּי אֶת־ שְׁב֨וּת עַמִּ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וִֽיהוּדָ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֗ים אֶל־ הָאָ֛רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־ נָתַ֥תִּי לַאֲבוֹתָ֖ם וִֽירֵשֽׁוּהָ׃

KJV ⁴ And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

S21 ⁴ Voici les paroles prononcées par l'Eternel à l'intention d'Israël et de Juda.

WLC ⁴ וְאֵ֣לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְאֶל־ יְהוּדָֽה׃

KJV ⁵ For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

S21 ⁵ Voici ce que dit l'Eternel:
Nous entendons des cris de frayeur.
C'est la panique, et non la paix.

WLC ⁵ כִּי־ כֹה֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה ק֥וֹל חֲרָדָ֖ה שָׁמָ֑עְנוּ פַּ֖חַד וְאֵ֥ין שָׁלֽוֹם׃

KJV ⁶ Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

S21 ⁶ Informez-vous donc et regardez si un homme peut mettre au monde un enfant!
Pourquoi vois-je tous les guerriers les mains sur les hanches,
comme une femme prête à accoucher?
Pourquoi tous les visages sont-ils devenus livides?

WLC ⁶ שַׁאֲלוּ־ נָ֣א וּרְא֔וּ אִם־ יֹלֵ֖ד זָכָ֑ר מַדּוּעַ֩ רָאִ֨יתִי כָל־ גֶּ֜בֶר יָדָ֤יו עַל־ חֲלָצָיו֙ כַּיּ֣וֹלֵדָ֔ה וְנֶהֶפְכ֥וּ כָל־ פָּנִ֖ים לְיֵרָקֽוֹן׃

KJV ⁷ Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

S21 ⁷ Quel malheur! Voilà le grand jour!
Il n'y en a jamais eu de pareil.
C'est une période d'angoisse pour Jacob,
mais il en sera délivré.

WLC ⁷ ה֗וֹי כִּ֥י גָד֛וֹל הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא מֵאַ֣יִן כָּמֹ֑הוּ וְעֵֽת־ צָרָ֥ה הִיא֙ לְיַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וּמִמֶּ֖נָּה יִוָּשֵֽׁעַ׃

KJV ⁸ For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

S21 ⁸ Lorsque ce jour-là arrivera, déclare l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers,
je briserai l'autorité exercée sur toi,
j'arracherai tes liens.
Ils ne seront plus les esclaves d'étrangers

WLC ⁸ וְהָיָה֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא נְאֻ֣ם ׀ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת אֶשְׁבֹּ֤ר עֻלּוֹ֙ מֵעַ֣ל צַוָּארֶ֔ךָ וּמוֹסְרוֹתֶ֖יךָ אֲנַתֵּ֑ק וְלֹא־ יַעַבְדוּ־ ב֥וֹ ע֖וֹד זָרִֽים׃

KJV ⁹ But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

S21 ⁹ mais ils serviront l'Eternel, leur Dieu,
et David, leur roi, celui que je leur donnerai.

WLC ⁹ וְעָ֣בְד֔וּ אֵ֖ת יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם וְאֵת֙ דָּוִ֣ד מַלְכָּ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָקִ֖ים לָהֶֽם׃

KJV ¹⁰ Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

S21 ¹⁰ Quant à toi, mon serviteur Jacob, n'aie pas peur, déclare l'Eternel.
Ne te laisse pas effrayer, Israël!
En effet, je vais te délivrer de la terre lointaine,
je vais délivrer ta descendance du pays où elle est déportée.
Jacob reviendra pour connaître la tranquillité et la sécurité.
Plus personne ne l'inquiétera.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאַתָּ֡ה אַל־ תִּירָא֩ עַבְדִּ֨י יַעֲקֹ֤ב נְאֻם־ יְהֹוָה֙ וְאַל־ תֵּחַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֠י הִנְנִ֤י מוֹשִֽׁיעֲךָ֙ מֵֽרָח֔וֹק וְאֶֽת־ זַרְעֲךָ֖ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ שִׁבְיָ֑ם וְשָׁ֧ב יַעֲקֹ֛ב וְשָׁקַ֥ט וְשַׁאֲנַ֖ן וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃

KJV ¹¹ For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

S21 ¹¹ En effet, je suis moi-même avec toi pour te délivrer, déclare l'Eternel.
J'exterminerai toutes les nations où je t'ai dispersé,
mais toi, je ne t'exterminerai pas.
Je te corrigerai avec justice.
Je ne peux vraiment pas te laisser impuni.

WLC ¹¹ כִּֽי־ אִתְּךָ֥ אֲנִ֛י נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֖ה לְהֽוֹשִׁיעֶ֑ךָ כִּי֩ אֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה כָלָ֜ה בְּכָֽל־ הַגּוֹיִ֣ם ׀ אֲשֶׁ֧ר הֲפִצוֹתִ֣יךָ שָּׁ֗ם אַ֤ךְ אֹֽתְךָ֙ לֹֽא־ אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה כָלָ֔ה וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט וְנַקֵּ֖ה לֹ֥א אֲנַקֶּֽךָּ׃

KJV ¹² For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

S21 ¹² Voici ce que dit l'Eternel:
Ton désastre est irréparable,
ta blessure est douloureuse.

WLC ¹² כִּ֣י כֹ֥ה אָמַ֛ר יְהוָ֖ה אָנ֣וּשׁ לְשִׁבְרֵ֑ךְ נַחְלָ֖ה מַכָּתֵֽךְ׃

KJV ¹³ There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

S21 ¹³ Personne ne défend ta cause pour prendre soin de ton ulcère.
Pour toi, il n'y a ni remède ni guérison.

WLC ¹³ אֵֽין־ דָּ֥ן דִּינֵ֖ךְ לְמָז֑וֹר רְפֻא֥וֹת תְּעָלָ֖ה אֵ֥ין לָֽךְ׃

KJV ¹⁴ All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.

S21 ¹⁴ Tous ceux qui t'aimaient t'ont oubliée, Jérusalem,
personne ne se soucie de toi,
car je t'ai frappée comme le fait un ennemi.
Je t'ai infligé une punition sévère
à cause de l'importance de ta faute,
du grand nombre de tes péchés.

WLC ¹⁴ כָּל־ מְאַהֲבַ֣יִךְ שְׁכֵח֔וּךְ אוֹתָ֖ךְ לֹ֣א יִדְרֹ֑שׁוּ כִּי֩ מַכַּ֨ת אוֹיֵ֤ב הִכִּיתִיךְ֙ מוּסַ֣ר אַכְזָרִ֔י עַ֚ל רֹ֣ב עֲוֺנֵ֔ךְ עָצְמ֖וּ חַטֹּאתָֽיִךְ׃

KJV ¹⁵ Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

S21 ¹⁵ Pourquoi te plaindre de ton désastre,
du fait que ta peine est incurable?
C'est à cause de l'importance de ta faute,
du grand nombre de tes péchés,
que je t'ai infligé ce traitement.

WLC ¹⁵ מַה־ תִּזְעַק֙ עַל־ שִׁבְרֵ֔ךְ אָנ֖וּשׁ מַכְאֹבֵ֑ךְ עַ֣ל ׀ רֹ֣ב עֲוֺנֵ֗ךְ עָֽצְמוּ֙ חַטֹּאתַ֔יִךְ עָשִׂ֥יתִי אֵ֖לֶּה לָֽךְ׃

KJV ¹⁶ Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

S21 ¹⁶ Cependant, tous ceux qui te dévorent seront dévorés,
et tous tes ennemis, oui tous, iront en déportation.
Ceux qui te dépouillent seront dépouillés
et je livrerai au pillage tous ceux qui te pillent.

WLC ¹⁶ לָכֵ֞ן כָּל־ אֹכְלַ֙יִךְ֙ יֵאָכֵ֔לוּ וְכָל־ צָרַ֥יִךְ כֻּלָּ֖ם בַּשְּׁבִ֣י יֵלֵ֑כוּ וְהָי֤וּ שֹׁאסַ֙יִךְ֙ לִמְשִׁסָּ֔ה וְכָל־ בֹּזְזַ֖יִךְ אֶתֵּ֥ן לָבַֽז׃

KJV ¹⁷ For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

S21 ¹⁷ En revanche, je provoquerai ton rétablissement,
je guérirai tes blessures,
déclare l'Eternel,
car ils t'ont appelée «l'expatriée,
la Sion dont plus personne ne se soucie».

WLC ¹⁷ כִּי֩ אַעֲלֶ֨ה אֲרֻכָ֥ה לָ֛ךְ וּמִמַּכּוֹתַ֥יִךְ אֶרְפָּאֵ֖ךְ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֤י נִדָּחָה֙ קָ֣רְאוּ לָ֔ךְ צִיּ֣וֹן הִ֔יא דֹּרֵ֖שׁ אֵ֥ין לָֽהּ׃

KJV ¹⁸ Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

S21 ¹⁸ Voici ce que dit l'Eternel:
Je vais ramener de déportation les familles de Jacob.
J'ai pitié de ses habitations:
la ville sera reconstruite sur ses ruines
et le palais retrouvera sa place.

WLC ¹⁸ כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה הִנְנִי־ שָׁב֙ שְׁבוּת֙ אָהֳלֵ֣י יַֽעֲק֔וֹב וּמִשְׁכְּנֹתָ֖יו אֲרַחֵ֑ם וְנִבְנְתָ֥ה עִיר֙ עַל־ תִּלָּ֔הּ וְאַרְמ֖וֹן עַל־ מִשְׁפָּט֥וֹ יֵשֵֽׁב׃

KJV ¹⁹ And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

S21 ¹⁹ Des manifestations de reconnaissance et des cris de réjouissance
se feront entendre de leur part.
Je les rendrai nombreux, ils ne diminueront plus.
Je les rendrai importants, ils ne seront plus méprisés.

WLC ¹⁹ וְיָצָ֥א מֵהֶ֛ם תּוֹדָ֖ה וְק֣וֹל מְשַׂחֲקִ֑ים וְהִרְבִּתִים֙ וְלֹ֣א יִמְעָ֔טוּ וְהִכְבַּדְתִּ֖ים וְלֹ֥א יִצְעָֽרוּ׃

KJV ²⁰ Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.

S21 ²⁰ Ses fils redeviendront comme ils l'étaient par le passé,
son assemblée subsistera devant moi
et j'interviendrai contre tous ses oppresseurs.

WLC ²⁰ וְהָי֤וּ בָנָיו֙ כְּקֶ֔דֶם וַעֲדָת֖וֹ לְפָנַ֣י תִּכּ֑וֹן וּפָ֣קַדְתִּ֔י עַ֖ל כָּל־ לֹחֲצָֽיו׃

KJV ²¹ And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.

S21 ²¹ Son prince sera l'un des siens,
son souverain proviendra du peuple lui-même.
Je le ferai approcher, et il s'avancera vers moi.
En effet, qui pourrait se porter garant de lui-même pour s'avancer vers moi?
déclare l'Eternel.

WLC ²¹ וְהָיָ֨ה אַדִּיר֜וֹ מִמֶּ֗נּוּ וּמֹֽשְׁלוֹ֙ מִקִּרְבּ֣וֹ יֵצֵ֔א וְהִקְרַבְתִּ֖יו וְנִגַּ֣שׁ אֵלָ֑י כִּי֩ מִ֨י הוּא־ זֶ֜ה עָרַ֧ב אֶת־ לִבּ֛וֹ לָגֶ֥שֶׁת אֵלַ֖י נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ²² And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

S21 ²² Vous serez mon peuple,
et moi je serai votre Dieu.

WLC ²² וִהְיִ֥יתֶם לִ֖י לְעָ֑ם וְאָ֣נֹכִ֔י אֶהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם לֵאלֹהִֽים׃

KJV ²³ Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.

S21 ²³ La tempête de l'Eternel, sa colère éclate.
C'est une tempête tourbillonnante
qui fond sur la tête des méchants.

WLC ²³ הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ סַעֲרַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה חֵמָה֙ יָֽצְאָ֔ה סַ֖עַר מִתְגּוֹרֵ֑ר עַ֛ל רֹ֥אשׁ רְשָׁעִ֖ים יָחֽוּל׃

KJV ²⁴ The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he hath done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.

S21 ²⁴ La colère ardente de l'Eternel ne se calmera pas
tant qu'il n'aura pas agi et mis à exécution les projets de son cœur.
Dans l'avenir, vous en comprendrez le sens.

WLC ²⁴ לֹ֣א יָשׁ֗וּב חֲרוֹן֙ אַף־ יְהוָ֔ה עַד־ עֲשֹׂת֥וֹ וְעַד־ הֲקִימ֖וֹ מְזִמּ֣וֹת לִבּ֑וֹ בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית הַיָּמִ֖ים תִּתְבּ֥וֹנְנוּ בָֽהּ׃

KJV ¹ At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

S21 ¹ A ce moment-là, déclare l'Eternel, je serai le Dieu de toutes les familles d'Israël, et eux, ils seront mon peuple.

WLC ¹ בָּעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה אֶֽהְיֶה֙ לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים לְכֹ֖ל מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהֵ֖מָּה יִֽהְיוּ־ לִ֥י לְעָֽם׃

KJV ² Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

S21 ² Voici ce que dit l'Eternel:
Il a trouvé grâce dans le désert,
le peuple des rescapés de l'épée.
Israël marche vers son lieu de repos.

WLC ² כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה מָצָ֥א חֵן֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר עַ֖ם שְׂרִ֣ידֵי חָ֑רֶב הָל֥וֹךְ לְהַרְגִּיע֖וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ³ The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

S21 ³ De loin, l'Eternel s'est montré à moi:
«Je t'aime d'un amour éternel,
c'est pourquoi je te conserve ma bonté.»

WLC ³ מֵרָח֕וֹק יְהוָ֖ה נִרְאָ֣ה לִ֑י וְאַהֲבַ֤ת עוֹלָם֙ אֲהַבְתִּ֔יךְ עַל־ כֵּ֖ן מְשַׁכְתִּ֥יךְ חָֽסֶד׃

KJV ⁴ Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

S21 ⁴ Je te rétablirai encore et tu seras rétablie,
jeune fille d'Israël!
Tu resplendiras encore avec tes tambourins
et tu te mêleras aux danses de ceux qui manifestent leur joie.

WLC ⁴ ע֤וֹד אֶבְנֵךְ֙ וְֽנִבְנֵ֔ית בְּתוּלַ֖ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל ע֚וֹד תַּעְדִּ֣י תֻפַּ֔יִךְ וְיָצָ֖את בִּמְח֥וֹל מְשַׂחֲקִֽים׃

KJV ⁵ Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

S21 ⁵ Tu planteras encore des vignes sur les montagnes de Samarie.
Les planteurs accompliront leur tâche et profiteront de la récolte.

WLC ⁵ ע֚וֹד תִּטְּעִ֣י כְרָמִ֔ים בְּהָרֵ֖י שֹֽׁמְר֑וֹן נָטְע֥וּ נֹטְעִ֖ים וְחִלֵּֽלוּ׃

KJV ⁶ For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.

S21 ⁶ En effet, il y aura un jour où les gardes crieront dans la région montagneuse d'Ephraïm:
«Levez-vous, montons à Sion vers l'Eternel, notre Dieu!»

WLC ⁶ כִּ֣י יֶשׁ־ י֔וֹם קָרְא֥וּ נֹצְרִ֖ים בְּהַ֣ר אֶפְרָ֑יִם ק֚וּמוּ וְנַעֲלֶ֣ה צִיּ֔וֹן אֶל־ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

KJV ⁷ For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.

S21 ⁷ car voici ce que dit l'Eternel:
Poussez des cris de joie à propos de Jacob,
éclatez d'allégresse avec la plus importante des nations!
Faites retentir votre voix, chantez des louanges et dites:
«Eternel, délivre ton peuple,
ce qui reste d'Israël!»

WLC ⁷ כִּי־ כֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה רָנּ֤וּ לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ שִׂמְחָ֔ה וְצַהֲל֖וּ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ הַגּוֹיִ֑ם הַשְׁמִ֤יעוּ הַֽלְלוּ֙ וְאִמְר֔וּ הוֹשַׁ֤ע יְהוָה֙ אֶֽת־ עַמְּךָ֔ אֵ֖ת שְׁאֵרִ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJV ⁸ Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

S21 ⁸ Je vais les ramener du pays du nord,
je les rassemblerai des extrémités de la terre.
Parmi eux figureront l'aveugle et le boiteux,
la femme enceinte et celle qui accouche.
Ensemble ils forment une grande assemblée, ils reviennent ici.

WLC ⁸ הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אוֹתָ֜ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֗וֹן וְקִבַּצְתִּים֮ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־ אָרֶץ֒ בָּ֚ם עִוֵּ֣ר וּפִסֵּ֔חַ הָרָ֥ה וְיֹלֶ֖דֶת יַחְדָּ֑ו קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל יָשׁ֥וּבוּ הֵֽנָּה׃

KJV ⁹ They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

S21 ⁹ Ils reviennent en pleurant,
mais je les conduis au milieu de leurs supplications.
Je les conduis vers des torrents d'eau
par un chemin tout droit où ils ne trébucheront pas.
En effet, je suis un père pour Israël
et Ephraïm est mon premier-né.

KJV ¹⁰ Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

S21 ¹⁰ Nations, écoutez la parole de l'Eternel
et annoncez-la dans les îles lointaines!

«Celui qui a dispersé Israël le rassemblera
et le gardera comme un berger garde son troupeau.»

WLC ¹⁰ שִׁמְע֤וּ דְבַר־ יְהוָה֙ גּוֹיִ֔ם וְהַגִּ֥ידוּ בָאִיִּ֖ים מִמֶּרְחָ֑ק וְאִמְר֗וּ מְזָרֵ֤ה יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יְקַבְּצֶ֔נּוּ וּשְׁמָר֖וֹ כְּרֹעֶ֥ה עֶדְרֽוֹ׃

KJV ¹¹ For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

S21 ¹¹ En effet, l'Eternel a libéré Jacob,
il l'a racheté à celui qui était plus fort que lui.

WLC ¹¹ כִּֽי־ פָדָ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶֽת־ יַעֲקֹ֑ב וּגְאָל֕וֹ מִיַּ֖ד חָזָ֥ק מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

KJV ¹² Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

S21 ¹² Ils viendront et pousseront des cris de joie sur les hauteurs de Sion.
Ils accourront vers les biens de l'Eternel:
le blé, le vin nouveau, l'huile,
le petit et le gros bétail.
Leur vie sera pareille à un jardin arrosé
et ils ne dépériront plus.

WLC ¹² וּבָאוּ֮ וְרִנְּנ֣וּ בִמְרוֹם־ צִיּוֹן֒ וְנָהֲר֞וּ אֶל־ ט֣וּב יְהוָ֗ה עַל־ דָּגָן֙ וְעַל־ תִּירֹ֣שׁ וְעַל־ יִצְהָ֔ר וְעַל־ בְּנֵי־ צֹ֖אן וּבָקָ֑ר וְהָיְתָ֤ה נַפְשָׁם֙ כְּגַ֣ן רָוֶ֔ה וְלֹא־ יוֹסִ֥יפוּ לְדַאֲבָ֖ה עֽוֹד׃

KJV ¹³ Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

S21 ¹³ Alors les jeunes filles se réjouiront en dansant,
les jeunes hommes et les vieillards se réjouiront ensemble.
Je changerai leur deuil en joie et je les consolerai,
je les rendrai joyeux après leurs chagrins.

WLC ¹³ אָ֣ז תִּשְׂמַ֤ח בְּתוּלָה֙ בְּמָח֔וֹל וּבַחֻרִ֥ים וּזְקֵנִ֖ים יַחְדָּ֑ו וְהָפַכְתִּ֨י אֶבְלָ֤ם לְשָׂשׂוֹן֙ וְנִ֣חַמְתִּ֔ים וְשִׂמַּחְתִּ֖ים מִיגוֹנָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁴ And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

S21 ¹⁴ Je gaverai les prêtres de graisse
et mon peuple sera rassasié grâce à mes biens, déclare l'Eternel.

WLC ¹⁴ וְרִוֵּיתִ֛י נֶ֥פֶשׁ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים דָּ֑שֶׁן וְעַמִּ֛י אֶת־ טוּבִ֥י יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹⁵ Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

S21 ¹⁵ Voici ce que dit l'Eternel:
*On a entendu des cris à Rama,
des lamentations et des pleurs amers:
c'est Rachel qui pleure ses enfants
et n'a pas voulu être consolée à propos de ses enfants,
parce qu'ils ne sont plus là. 

WLC ¹⁵ כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה ק֣וֹל בְּרָמָ֤ה נִשְׁמָע֙ נְהִי֙ בְּכִ֣י תַמְרוּרִ֔ים רָחֵ֖ל מְבַכָּ֣ה עַל־ בָּנֶ֑יהָ מֵאֲנָ֛ה לְהִנָּחֵ֥ם עַל־ בָּנֶ֖יהָ כִּ֥י אֵינֶֽנּוּ׃

KJV ¹⁶ Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

S21 ¹⁶ Voici ce que dit l'Eternel:
Retiens tes pleurs
ainsi que les larmes de tes yeux,
car il y aura une compensation pour ta peine, déclare l'Eternel.
Ils reviendront du pays de l'ennemi.

WLC ¹⁶ כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה מִנְעִ֤י קוֹלֵךְ֙ מִבֶּ֔כִי וְעֵינַ֖יִךְ מִדִּמְעָ֑ה כִּי֩ יֵ֨שׁ שָׂכָ֤ר לִפְעֻלָּתֵךְ֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה וְשָׁ֖בוּ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ אוֹיֵֽב׃

KJV ¹⁷ And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

S21 ¹⁷ Il y a de l'espoir pour ton avenir, déclare l'Eternel:
tes enfants reviendront dans leur territoire.

WLC ¹⁷ וְיֵשׁ־ תִּקְוָ֥ה לְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וְשָׁ֥בוּ בָנִ֖ים לִגְבוּלָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.

S21 ¹⁸ J'entends clairement Ephraïm se lamenter:
«Tu m'as corrigé et je me suis laissé corriger,
pareil à un jeune taureau qui n'a pas encore été dressé.
Fais-moi revenir et je reviendrai,
car tu es l'Eternel, mon Dieu.

WLC ¹⁸ שָׁמ֣וֹעַ שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ מִתְנוֹדֵ֔ד יִסַּרְתַּ֙נִי֙ וָֽאִוָּסֵ֔ר כְּעֵ֖גֶל לֹ֣א לֻמָּ֑ד הֲשִׁיבֵ֣נִי וְאָשׁ֔וּבָה כִּ֥י אַתָּ֖ה יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽי׃

KJV ¹⁹ Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

S21 ¹⁹ Revenu à de meilleures intentions, je regrette mon attitude.
Après avoir pris conscience de mon état, je me frappe la cuisse.
Je suis honteux, rempli d'humiliation,
car je dois porter le déshonneur de ma jeunesse.»

WLC ¹⁹ כִּֽי־ אַחֲרֵ֤י שׁוּבִי֙ נִחַ֔מְתִּי וְאַֽחֲרֵי֙ הִוָּ֣דְעִ֔י סָפַ֖קְתִּי עַל־ יָרֵ֑ךְ בֹּ֚שְׁתִּי וְגַם־ נִכְלַ֔מְתִּי כִּ֥י נָשָׂ֖אתִי חֶרְפַּ֥ת נְעוּרָֽי׃

KJV ²⁰ Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

S21 ²⁰ Ephraïm est-il donc pour moi un fils chéri,
un enfant qui fait mon plaisir,
pour que chaque fois que je parle contre lui son souvenir reste si fort en moi?
C'est que je suis profondément bouleversé quand il est question de lui,
je ressens beaucoup de compassion pour lui, déclare l'Eternel.

WLC ²⁰ הֲבֵן֩ יַקִּ֨יר לִ֜י אֶפְרַ֗יִם אִ֚ם יֶ֣לֶד שַׁעֲשֻׁעִ֔ים כִּֽי־ מִדֵּ֤י דַבְּרִי֙ בּ֔וֹ זָכֹ֥ר אֶזְכְּרֶ֖נּוּ ע֑וֹד עַל־ כֵּ֗ן הָמ֤וּ מֵעַי֙ ל֔וֹ רַחֵ֥ם אֲ‍ֽרַחֲמֶ֖נּוּ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ²¹ Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.

S21 ²¹ Dresse-toi des poteaux indicateurs, place des points de repère,
prête attention à la route, au chemin que tu as suivi!
Reviens, jeune fille d'Israël,
reviens dans ces villes qui t'appartiennent!

WLC ²¹ הַצִּ֧יבִי לָ֣ךְ צִיֻּנִ֗ים שִׂ֤מִי לָךְ֙ תַּמְרוּרִ֔ים שִׁ֣תִי לִבֵּ֔ךְ לַֽמְסִלָּ֖ה דֶּ֣רֶךְ שׁ֚וּבִי בְּתוּלַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שֻׁ֖בִי אֶל־ עָרַ֥יִךְ אֵֽלֶּה׃

KJV ²² How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

S21 ²² Jusqu'à quand resteras-tu dans l'errance,
fille rebelle?
En effet, l'Eternel crée une chose nouvelle sur la terre:
la femme tourne autour de l'homme.

WLC ²² עַד־ מָתַי֙ תִּתְחַמָּקִ֔ין הַבַּ֖ת הַשּֽׁוֹבֵבָ֑ה כִּֽי־ בָרָ֨א יְהוָ֤ה חֲדָשָׁה֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ נְקֵבָ֖ה תְּס֥וֹבֵֽב גָּֽבֶר׃

KJV ²³ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

S21 ²³ Voici ce que dit l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers, le Dieu d'Israël: Quand j'aurai ramené leurs déportés, on dira encore ces paroles dans le pays de Juda et dans ses villes: «Que l'Eternel te bénisse, domaine de la justice, sainte montagne!»

WLC ²³ כֹּֽה־ אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל ע֣וֹד יֹאמְר֞וּ אֶת־ הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֗ה בְּאֶ֤רֶץ יְהוּדָה֙ וּבְעָרָ֔יו בְּשׁוּבִ֖י אֶת־ שְׁבוּתָ֑ם יְבָרֶכְךָ֧ יְהוָ֛ה נְוֵה־ צֶ֖דֶק הַ֥ר הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃

KJV ²⁴ And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.

S21 ²⁴ Là s'installeront ensemble les habitants de Juda et de toutes ses villes, les cultivateurs et les nomades.

WLC ²⁴ וְיָ֥שְׁבוּ בָ֛הּ יְהוּדָ֥ה וְכָל־ עָרָ֖יו יַחְדָּ֑ו אִכָּרִ֕ים וְנָסְע֖וּ בַּעֵֽדֶר׃

KJV ²⁵ For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

S21 ²⁵ En effet, je désaltère celui qui est fatigué et je rassasie tous ceux qui dépérissent.

WLC ²⁵ כִּ֥י הִרְוֵ֖יתִי נֶ֣פֶשׁ עֲיֵפָ֑ה וְכָל־ נֶ֥פֶשׁ דָּאֲבָ֖ה מִלֵּֽאתִי׃

KJV ²⁶ Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.

S21 ²⁶ Là-dessus je me suis réveillé et j'ai ouvert les yeux. Mon sommeil m'avait fait du bien.

WLC ²⁶ עַל־ זֹ֖את הֱקִיצֹ֣תִי וָאֶרְאֶ֑ה וּשְׁנָתִ֖י עָ֥רְבָה לִּֽי׃

KJV ²⁷ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.

S21 ²⁷ Voici que les jours viennent, déclare l'Eternel, où j'accorderai à la communauté d'Israël et à celle de Juda une foule d'hommes et de bêtes.

WLC ²⁷ הִנֵּ֛ה יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֑ה וְזָרַעְתִּ֗י אֶת־ בֵּ֤ית יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאֶת־ בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה זֶ֥רַע אָדָ֖ם וְזֶ֥רַע בְּהֵמָֽה׃

KJV ²⁸ And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.

S21 ²⁸ De même que j'ai veillé sur eux pour arracher, démolir, ruiner, détruire et faire du mal, de même je veillerai sur eux pour construire et pour planter, déclare l'Eternel.

WLC ²⁸ וְהָיָ֞ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֧ר שָׁקַ֣דְתִּי עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם לִנְת֧וֹשׁ וְלִנְת֛וֹץ וְלַהֲרֹ֖ס וּלְהַאֲבִ֣יד וּלְהָרֵ֑עַ כֵּ֣ן אֶשְׁקֹ֧ד עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם לִבְנ֥וֹת וְלִנְט֖וֹעַ נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ²⁹ In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.

S21 ²⁹ Durant ces jours-là, on ne dira plus:
«Ce sont les pères qui ont mangé des raisins verts, mais ce sont les enfants qui ont eu mal aux dents.»

WLC ²⁹ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם לֹא־ יֹאמְר֣וּ ע֔וֹד אָב֖וֹת אָ֣כְלוּ בֹ֑סֶר וְשִׁנֵּ֥י בָנִ֖ים תִּקְהֶֽינָה׃

KJV ³⁰ But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

S21 ³⁰ Chacun mourra en raison de sa faute. Quand un homme mangera des raisins verts, il aura lui-même mal aux dents.

WLC ³⁰ כִּ֛י אִם־ אִ֥ישׁ בַּעֲוֺנ֖וֹ יָמ֑וּת כָּל־ הָֽאָדָ֛ם הָאֹכֵ֥ל הַבֹּ֖סֶר תִּקְהֶ֥ינָה שִׁנָּֽיו׃
