KJV ¹ The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.

BCC ² Alors l'armée du roi de Babylone assiégeait Jérusalem, et Jérémie le prophète était enfermé dans la cour des gardes qui était dans la maison du roi de Juda.

KJV ² For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house.

VULC ² Tunc exercitus regis Babylonis obsidebat Jerusalem, et Jeremias propheta erat clausus in atrio carceris qui erat in domo regis Juda.

BCC ³ Car Sédécias, roi de Juda, l'avait fait enfermer, en lui disant : pourquoi prophétises-tu en disant : ainsi parle Jéhovah : "Je vais livrer cette ville au roi de Babylone, et il la prendra ;

KJV ³ For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

VULC ³ Clauserat enim eum Sedecias rex Juda, dicens : Quare vaticinaris, dicens : Hæc dicit Dominus : Ecce ego dabo civitatem istam in manus regis Babylonis, et capiet eam :

BCC ⁴ et Sédécias, roi de Juda n'échappera pas aux Chaldéens ; il sera certainement livré entre les mains du roi de Babylone, et il lui parlera bouche à bouche et ses yeux verront ses yeux.

KJV ⁴ And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;

VULC ⁴ et Sedecias rex Juda non effugiet de manu Chaldæorum, sed tradetur in manus regis Babylonis : et loquetur os ejus cum ore illius, et oculi ejus oculos illius videbunt :

BCC ⁵ Et Nabuchodonosor emmènera Sédécias à Babylone, et il y restera jusqu'à ce que je le visite. Si vous combattez contre les Chaldéens, vous ne réussirez point."

KJV ⁵ And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

BCC ⁷ Voici Hanaméel, fils de Sellum ton oncle, qui vient vers toi pour te dire : "achète-toi mon champ qui est à Anathoth, car tu as le droit de rachat pour l'acquérir."

KJV ⁷ Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.

VULC ⁷ Ecce Hanameel filius Sellum, patruelis tuus, veniet ad te, dicens : Eme tibi agrum meum qui est in Anathoth, tibi enim competit ex propinquitate ut emas.

BCC ⁸ Hanaméel, fils de mon oncle, vint donc vers moi selon la parole de Jéhovah, dans la cour des gardes et il me dit : "achète, je te prie, mon champ qui est à Anathoth, dans le territoire de Benjamin, car tu as le droit d'héritage et de rachat ; achète-le pour toi." Alors je connus que c'était là une parole de Jéhovah.

KJV ⁸ So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

VULC ⁸ Et venit ad me Hanameel filius patrui mei, secundum verbum Domini, ad vestibulum carceris, et ait ad me : Posside agrum meum qui est in Anathoth, in terra Benjamin, quia tibi competit hæreditas, et tu propinquus es ut possideas. Intellexi autem quod verbum Domini esset :

BCC ⁹ J'acquis donc de Hanaméel, fils de mon oncle, le champ qui est à Anathoth, et je lui pesais l'argent, dix-sept sicles d'argent.

KJV ⁹ And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

VULC ⁹ et emi agrum ab Hanameel filio patrui mei, qui est in Anathoth, et appendi ei argentum : septem stateres, et decem argenteos.

KJV ¹⁰ And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

VULC ¹⁰ Et scripsi in libro, et signavi, et adhibui testes, et appendi argentum in statera.

KJV ¹² And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

BCC ¹⁴ Ainsi parle Jéhovah des armées, ‒ Dieu d'Israël : prends ces actes, cet acte d'acquisition qui est scellé, et cet acte qui est ouvert, et mets-les dans un vase de terre pour qu'ils se conservent longtemps.

KJV ¹⁴ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
