WLC ¹⁸ לָכֵ֖ן שִׁמְע֣וּ הַגּוֹיִ֑ם וּדְעִ֥י עֵדָ֖ה אֶת־ אֲשֶׁר־ בָּֽם׃

KJV ¹⁹ Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

LSG ¹⁹ Écoute, terre ! Voici, je fais venir sur ce peuple le malheur, Fruit de ses pensées ; Car ils n'ont point été attentifs à mes paroles, Ils ont méprisé ma loi.

VULC ¹⁹ Audi, terra :
ecce ego adducam mala super populum istum,
fructum cogitationum ejus :
quia verba mea non audierunt,
et legem meam projecerunt.

WLC ¹⁹ שִׁמְעִ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י מֵבִ֥יא רָעָ֛ה אֶל־ הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה פְּרִ֣י מַחְשְׁבוֹתָ֑ם כִּ֤י עַל־ דְּבָרַי֙ לֹ֣א הִקְשִׁ֔יבוּ וְתוֹרָתִ֖י וַיִּמְאֲסוּ־ בָֽהּ׃

KJV ²⁰ To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.

LSG ²⁰ Qu'ai-je besoin de l'encens qui vient de Séba, Du roseau aromatique d'un pays lointain ? Vos holocaustes ne me plaisent point, Et vos sacrifices ne me sont point agréables.

VULC ²⁰ Ut quid mihi thus de Saba affertis,
et calamum suave olentem de terra longinqua ?
Holocautomata vestra non sunt accepta,
et victimæ vestræ non placuerunt mihi.

WLC ²⁰ לָמָּה־ זֶּ֨ה לִ֤י לְבוֹנָה֙ מִשְּׁבָ֣א תָב֔וֹא וְקָנֶ֥ה הַטּ֖וֹב מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מֶרְחָ֑ק עֹלֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ לֹ֣א לְרָצ֔וֹן וְזִבְחֵיכֶ֖ם לֹא־ עָ֥רְבוּ לִֽי׃

KJV ²¹ Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

LSG ²¹ C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je mettrai devant ce peuple des pierres d'achoppement, Contre lesquelles se heurteront ensemble pères et fils, Voisins et amis, et ils périront.

VULC ²¹ Propterea hæc dicit Dominus :
Ecce ego dabo in populum istum ruinas :
et ruent in eis patres et filii simul ;
vicinus et proximus peribunt.

WLC ²¹ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֥י נֹתֵ֛ן אֶל־ הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה מִכְשֹׁלִ֑ים וְכָ֣שְׁלוּ בָ֠ם אָב֨וֹת וּבָנִ֥ים יַחְדָּ֛ו שָׁכֵ֥ן וְרֵע֖וֹ

KJV ²² Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.

LSG ²² Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, un peuple vient du pays du septentrion, Une grande nation se lève des extrémités de la terre.

VULC ²² Hæc dicit Dominus :
Ecce populus venit de terra aquilonis,
et gens magna consurget a finibus terræ.

WLC ²² כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֛ה עַ֥ם בָּ֖א מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֑וֹן וְג֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל יֵע֖וֹר מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃

KJV ²³ They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.

LSG ²³ Ils portent l'arc et le javelot ; Ils sont cruels, sans miséricorde ; Leur voix mugit comme la mer ; Ils sont montés sur des chevaux, Prêts à combattre comme un seul homme, Contre toi, fille de Sion !

VULC ²³ Sagittam et scutum arripiet :
crudelis est et non miserebitur.
Vox ejus quasi mare sonabit :
et super equos ascendent,
præparati quasi vir ad prælium
adversum te, filia Sion.

WLC ²³ קֶ֣שֶׁת וְכִיד֞וֹן יַחֲזִ֗יקוּ אַכְזָרִ֥י הוּא֙ וְלֹ֣א יְרַחֵ֔מוּ קוֹלָם֙ כַּיָּ֣ם יֶהֱמֶ֔ה וְעַל־ סוּסִ֖ים יִרְכָּ֑בוּ עָר֗וּךְ כְּאִישׁ֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה עָלַ֖יִךְ בַּת־ צִיּֽוֹן׃

KJV ²⁴ We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

LSG ²⁴ Au bruit de leur approche, Nos mains s'affaiblissent, L'angoisse nous saisit, Comme la douleur d'une femme qui accouche.

VULC ²⁴ Audivimus famam ejus ;
dissolutæ sunt manus nostræ :
tribulatio apprehendit nos,
dolores ut parturientem.

WLC ²⁴ שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ אֶת־ שָׁמְע֖וֹ רָפ֣וּ יָדֵ֑ינוּ צָרָה֙ הֶחֱזִיקַ֔תְנוּ חִ֖יל כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃

KJV ²⁵ Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.

LSG ²⁵ Ne sortez pas dans les champs, N'allez pas sur les chemins ; Car là est le glaive de l'ennemi, Et l'épouvante règne à l'entour !

VULC ²⁵ Nolite exire ad agros,
et in via ne ambuletis,
quoniam gladius inimici,
pavor in circuitu.

WLC ²⁵ אַל־ הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה וּבַדֶּ֖רֶךְ אַל־ כִּ֚י חֶ֣רֶב לְאֹיֵ֔ב מָג֖וֹר מִסָּבִֽיב׃

KJV ²⁶ O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.

LSG ²⁶ Fille de mon peuple, couvre-toi d'un sac et roule-toi dans la cendre, Prends le deuil comme pour un fils unique, Verse des larmes, des larmes amères ! Car le dévastateur vient sur nous à l'improviste.

VULC ²⁶ Filia populi mei, accingere cilicio,
et conspergere cinere :
luctum unigeniti fac tibi,
planctum amarum,
quia repente veniet vastator super nos.

WLC ²⁶ בַּת־ עַמִּ֤י חִגְרִי־ שָׂק֙ וְהִתְפַּלְּשִׁ֣י בָאֵ֔פֶר אֵ֤בֶל יָחִיד֙ עֲשִׂ֣י לָ֔ךְ מִסְפַּ֖ד תַּמְרוּרִ֑ים כִּ֣י פִתְאֹ֔ם יָבֹ֥א הַשֹּׁדֵ֖ד עָלֵֽינוּ׃

KJV ²⁷ I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.

LSG ²⁷ Je t'avais établi en observation parmi mon peuple, Comme une forteresse, Pour que tu connusses et sondasses leur voie.

VULC ²⁷ Probatorem dedi te in populo meo robustum :
et scies, et probabis viam eorum.

WLC ²⁷ בָּח֛וֹן נְתַתִּ֥יךָ בְעַמִּ֖י מִבְצָ֑ר וְתֵדַ֕ע וּבָחַנְתָּ֖ אֶת־ דַּרְכָּֽם׃

KJV ²⁸ They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.

LSG ²⁸ Ils sont tous des rebelles, des calomniateurs, De l'airain et du fer ; Ils sont tous corrompus.

VULC ²⁸ Omnes isti principes declinantes,
ambulantes fraudulenter,
æs et ferrum :
universi corrupti sunt.

WLC ²⁸ כֻּלָּם֙ סָרֵ֣י סֽוֹרְרִ֔ים הֹלְכֵ֥י רָכִ֖יל נְחֹ֣שֶׁת וּבַרְזֶ֑ל כֻּלָּ֥ם מַשְׁחִיתִ֖ים הֵֽמָּה׃

KJV ²⁹ The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.

LSG ²⁹ Le soufflet est brûlant, Le plomb est consumé par le feu ; C'est en vain qu'on épure, Les scories ne se détachent pas.

VULC ²⁹ Defecit sufflatorium ;
in igne consumptum est plumbum :
frustra conflavit conflator,
malitiæ enim eorum non sunt consumptæ.

WLC ²⁹ נָחַ֣ר מַפֻּ֔חַ עֹפָ֑רֶת לַשָּׁוְא֙ צָרַ֣ף צָר֔וֹף וְרָעִ֖ים לֹ֥א נִתָּֽקוּ׃

KJV ³⁰ Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.

LSG ³⁰ On les appelle de l'argent méprisable, Car l'Éternel les a rejetés.

VULC ³⁰ Argentum reprobum vocate eos,
quia Dominus projecit illos.]
