BCC ⁴ Dis-leur : ainsi parle Jéhovah : est-ce que ceux qui tombent ne se relèvent pas ? Et celui qui s'égare ne revient-il pas dans le chemin ?

KJV ⁴ Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return?

BCC ⁵ Pourquoi donc ce peuple de Jérusalem s'égare-t-il D'un égarement continuel ? Ils s'attachent avec force au mensonge ; ils refusent de revenir.

KJV ⁵ Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

BCC ⁶ J'ai fait attention et j'ai écouté : ils ne parlent pas comme il faut ; nul ne se repent de sa méchanceté, en disant : qu'ai-je fait ? Tous reprennent leur course, comme un cheval qui s'élance dans la bataille.

KJV ⁶ I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

BCC ⁷ Même la cigogne connaît dans les airs sa saison ; la tourterelle, l'hirondelle et la grue, observent le temps de leur retour ; mais mon peuple ne connaît pas la loi de Jéhovah.

KJV ⁷ Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

BCC ⁸ Comment pouvez-vous dire : nous sommes sages, et la loi de Jéhovah est avec nous ? Ah ! Le style mensonger des scribes en a fait un mensonge !

KJV ⁸ How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

BCC ⁹ Les sages sont confondus, consternés et pris ; ils ont rejeté la parole de Jéhovah, et quelle sagesse ont-ils !

KJV ⁹ The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

BCC ¹³ Je vais les ramasser, les emporter, dit Jéhovah ; plus de raisins à la vigne, ni de figues au figuier ! La feuille même est flétrie, et je leur ai donné des gens qui envahiront leur pays.

KJV ¹³ I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.
