²³ C'est pourquoi le royaume des cieux est semblable à un roi qui voulu régler ses comptes avec ses serviteurs. ²⁴ Quand il se mit à régler les comptes, on lui amena un débiteur de dix mille talents. ²⁵ Comme il n'avait pas de quoi payer, son maître ordonna qu'on le vendît, lui, sa femme, ses enfants et tout ce qu'il avait pour que paiement fût fait.

²³ Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. ²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
