²³ Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. ²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

²³ C'est pourquoi le royaume des cieux est semblable à un roi qui voulut compter avec ses serviteurs. ²⁴ Quand il eut commencé de compter, on lui en amena un qui lui devait dix mille talents; ²⁵ Et parce qu'il n'avait pas de quoi payer, son maître commanda qu'il fût vendu, lui, sa femme et ses enfants, et tout ce qu'il avait, afin que la dette fût payée.
