KJV ¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

KJV ² This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:

MAR ² C'est ici une ordonnance qui concerne la Loi que l'Eternel a commandée, en disant : Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et [leur] dis ; qu'ils t'amènent une jeune vache rousse, entière, en laquelle il n'y ait point de tare, [et] qui n'ait point porté le joug.

VULC ² Ista est religio victimæ, quam constituit Dominus. Præcipe filiis Israël, ut adducant ad te vaccam rufam ætatis integræ, in qua nulla sit macula, nec portaverit jugum :

KJV ³ And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:

MAR ³ Puis vous la donnerez à Éléazar Sacrificateur, qui la mènera hors du camp, et on l'égorgera en sa présence.

VULC ³ tradetisque eam Eleazaro sacerdoti, qui eductam extra castra, immolabit in conspectu omnium :

KJV ⁴ And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:

MAR ⁴ Ensuite Eléazar Sacrificateur, prendra de son sang avec son doigt, et fera sept fois aspersion du sang vers le devant du Tabernacle d'assignation ;

VULC ⁴ et tingens digitum in sanguine ejus, asperget contra fores tabernaculi septem vicibus,

KJV ⁵ And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:

MAR ⁵ Et on brûlera la jeune vache en sa présence ; on brûlera sa peau, sa chair, et son sang et sa fiente.

VULC ⁵ comburetque eam cunctis videntibus, tam pelle et carnibus ejus quam sanguine et fimo flammæ traditis.

KJV ⁶ And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

MAR ⁶ Et le Sacrificateur prendra du bois de cèdre, de l'hysope, et du cramoisi, et les jettera dans le feu où sera brûlée la jeune vache.

VULC ⁶ Lignum quoque cedrinum, et hyssopum, coccumque bis tinctum sacerdos mittet in flammam, quæ vaccam vorat.

KJV ⁷ Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.

MAR ⁷ Puis le Sacrificateur lavera ses vêtements et sa chair avec de l'eau, et après cela il rentrera au camp ; et le Sacrificateur sera souillé jusqu'au soir.

VULC ⁷ Et tunc demum, lotis vestibus et corpore suo, ingredietur in castra, commaculatusque erit usque ad vesperum.

KJV ⁸ And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.

MAR ⁸ Et celui qui l'aura brûlée lavera ses vêtements avec de l'eau, il lavera aussi dans l'eau sa chair, et il sera souillé jusqu'au soir.

VULC ⁸ Sed et ille qui combusserit eam, lavabit vestimenta sua et corpus, et immundus erit usque ad vesperum.

KJV ⁹ And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.

MAR ⁹ Et un homme net ramassera les cendres de la jeune vache, et les mettra hors du camp en un lieu net ; et elles seront gardées pour l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël ; afin d'en faire l'eau de séparation ; c'est une purification pour le péché.

VULC ⁹ Colliget autem vir mundus cineres vaccæ, et effundet eos extra castra in loco purissimo, ut sint multitudini filiorum Israël in custodiam, et in aquam aspersionis : quia pro peccato vacca combusta est.

KJV ¹⁰ And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

MAR ¹⁰ Et celui qui aura ramassé les cendres de la jeune vache, lavera ses vêtements, et sera souillé jusqu'au soir ; et ceci sera une ordonnance perpétuelle aux enfants d'Israël, et à l'étranger qui fait son séjour parmi eux.

VULC ¹⁰ Cumque laverit qui vaccæ portaverat cineres vestimenta sua, immundus erit usque ad vesperum. Habebunt hoc filii Israël, et advenæ qui habitant inter eos, sanctum jure perpetuo.
