VULC ¹⁵ Sumpta igitur parabola, rursum ait : [Dixit Balaam filius Beor :
dixit homo, cujus obturatus est oculus :

WLC ¹⁵ וַיִּשָּׂ֥א מְשָׁל֖וֹ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר נְאֻ֤ם בִּלְעָם֙ בְּנ֣וֹ בְעֹ֔ר וּנְאֻ֥ם הַגֶּ֖בֶר שְׁתֻ֥ם הָעָֽיִן׃

KJV ¹⁶ He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

LSG ¹⁶ Parole de celui qui entend les paroles de Dieu, De celui qui connaît les desseins du Très Haut, De celui qui voit la vision du Tout Puissant, De celui qui se prosterne et dont les yeux s'ouvrent.

VULC ¹⁶ dixit auditor sermonum Dei,
qui novit doctrinam Altissimi,
et visiones Omnipotentis videt,
qui cadens apertos habet oculos :

WLC ¹⁶ נְאֻ֗ם שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙ אִמְרֵי־ אֵ֔ל וְיֹדֵ֖עַ דַּ֣עַת עֶלְי֑וֹן מַחֲזֵ֤ה שַׁדַּי֙ יֶֽחֱזֶ֔ה נֹפֵ֖ל וּגְל֥וּי עֵינָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹⁷ I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

LSG ¹⁷ Je le vois, mais non maintenant, Je le contemple, mais non de près. Un astre sort de Jacob, Un sceptre s'élève d'Israël. Il perce les flancs de Moab, Et il abat tous les enfants de Seth.

VULC ¹⁷ Videbo eum, sed non modo :
intuebor illum, sed non prope.
Orietur stella ex Jacob,
et consurget virga de Israël :
et percutiet duces Moab,
vastabitque omnes filios Seth.

WLC ¹⁷ אֶרְאֶ֙נּוּ֙ וְלֹ֣א עַתָּ֔ה אֲשׁוּרֶ֖נּוּ וְלֹ֣א קָר֑וֹב דָּרַ֨ךְ כּוֹכָ֜ב מִֽיַּעֲקֹ֗ב וְקָ֥ם שֵׁ֙בֶט֙ מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּמָחַץ֙ פַּאֲתֵ֣י מוֹאָ֔ב וְקַרְקַ֖ר כָּל־ בְּנֵי־ שֵֽׁת׃

KJV ¹⁸ And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

LSG ¹⁸ Il se rend maître d'Édom, Il se rend maître de Séir, ses ennemis. Israël manifeste sa force.

VULC ¹⁸ Et erit Idumæa possessio ejus :
hæreditas Seir cedet inimicis suis :
Israël vero fortiter aget.

WLC ¹⁸ וְהָיָ֨ה אֱד֜וֹם יְרֵשָׁ֗ה וְהָיָ֧ה יְרֵשָׁ֛ה שֵׂעִ֖יר אֹיְבָ֑יו וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עֹ֥שֶׂה חָֽיִל׃

KJV ¹⁹ Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

LSG ¹⁹ Celui qui sort de Jacob règne en souverain, Il fait périr ceux qui s'échappent des villes.

KJV ²⁰ And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.

LSG ²⁰ Balaam vit Amalek. Il prononça son oracle, et dit: Amalek est la première des nations, Mais un jour il sera détruit.

VULC ²⁰ Cumque vidisset Amalec, assumens parabolam, ait : [Principium gentium Amalec,
cujus extrema perdentur.]

WLC ²⁰ וַיַּרְא֙ אֶת־ עֲמָלֵ֔ק וַיִּשָּׂ֥א מְשָׁל֖וֹ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר רֵאשִׁ֤ית גּוֹיִם֙ עֲמָלֵ֔ק וְאַחֲרִית֖וֹ עֲדֵ֥י אֹבֵֽד׃

KJV ²¹ And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.

LSG ²¹ Balaam vit les Kéniens. Il prononça son oracle, et dit: Ta demeure est solide, Et ton nid posé sur le roc.

VULC ²¹ Vidit quoque Cinæum : et assumpta parabola, ait : [Robustum quidem est habitaculum tuum :
sed si in petra posueris nidum tuum,

WLC ²¹ וַיַּרְא֙ אֶת־ הַקֵּינִ֔י וַיִּשָּׂ֥א מְשָׁל֖וֹ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר אֵיתָן֙ מֽוֹשָׁבֶ֔ךָ וְשִׂ֥ים בַּסֶּ֖לַע קִנֶּֽךָ׃

KJV ²² Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

LSG ²² Mais le Kénien sera chassé, Quand l'Assyrien t'emmènera captif.

VULC ²² et fueris electus de stirpe Cin,
quamdiu poteris permanere ? Assur enim capiet te.]

WLC ²² כִּ֥י אִם־ יִהְיֶ֖ה לְבָ֣עֵֽר קָ֑יִן עַד־ מָ֖ה אַשּׁ֥וּר תִּשְׁבֶּֽךָּ׃

KJV ²³ And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

LSG ²³ Balaam prononça son oracle, et dit: Hélas ! qui vivra après que Dieu l'aura établi ?

VULC ²³ Assumptaque parabola iterum locutus est : [Heu ! quis victurus est,
quando ista faciet Deus ?

WLC ²³ וַיִּשָּׂ֥א מְשָׁל֖וֹ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר א֕וֹי מִ֥י יִחְיֶ֖ה מִשֻּׂמ֥וֹ אֵֽל׃

KJV ²⁴ And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.

LSG ²⁴ Mais des navires viendront de Kittim, Ils humilieront l'Assyrien, ils humilieront l'Hébreu ; Et lui aussi sera détruit.

VULC ²⁴ Venient in trieribus de Italia :
superabunt Assyrios, vastabuntque Hebræos, et ad extremum etiam ipsi peribunt.]

WLC ²⁴ וְצִים֙ מִיַּ֣ד כִּתִּ֔ים וְעִנּ֥וּ אַשּׁ֖וּר וְעִנּוּ־ עֵ֑בֶר וְגַם־ ה֖וּא עֲדֵ֥י אֹבֵֽד׃

KJV ²⁵ And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.

LSG ²⁵ Balaam se leva, partit, et retourna chez lui. Balak s'en alla aussi de son côté.

VULC ²⁵ Surrexitque Balaam, et reversus est in locum suum : Balac quoque via, qua venerat, rediit.

WLC ²⁵ וַיָּ֣קָם בִּלְעָ֔ם וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ וַיָּ֣שָׁב לִמְקֹמ֑וֹ וְגַם־ בָּלָ֖ק הָלַ֥ךְ לְדַרְכּֽוֹ׃
