KJV 15 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

S21 15 Balaam prononça son oracle:
«Déclaration de Balaam, fils de Beor,
déclaration de l'homme qui a l'œil ouvert,

KJV 16 He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

S21 16 déclaration de celui qui entend les paroles de Dieu,
de celui qui possède la connaissance du Très-Haut,
de celui qui discerne la vision du Tout-Puissant,
de celui qui se prosterne
et dont les yeux s'ouvrent.

KJV 17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

S21 17 »Je le vois, mais non pour maintenant,
je le contemple, mais non de près:
un astre sort de Jacob,
un sceptre s'élève d'Israël.
Il transperce les flancs de Moab
et renverse tous les descendants de Seth.

KJV 18 And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

S21 18 Il se rend maître d'Edom,
il se rend maître de Séir, ses ennemis.
Israël manifeste sa force.

KJV 19 Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

S21 19 Celui qui sort de Jacob règne en souverain,
il fait mourir ceux qui s'échappent des villes.»

KJV 20 And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.

S21 20 Balaam vit Amalek et il prononça son oracle:
«Amalek est la première des nations,
mais un jour il sera détruit.»

KJV 21 And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.

S21 21 Balaam vit les Kéniens et il prononça son oracle:
«Ton habitation est solide
et ton nid est posé sur le rocher,

KJV 22 Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

S21 22 mais le Kénien sera chassé
quand l'Assyrien t'emmènera prisonnier.»

KJV 23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

S21 23 Balaam prononça son oracle:
«Quel malheur! Qui survivra
lorsque Dieu aura établi l'Assyrien?

KJV 24 And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.

S21 24 Mais des bateaux viendront de Kittim:
ils humilieront l'Assyrien,
ils humilieront l'Hébreu 
et lui aussi sera détruit.»

KJV 25 And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.

S21 25 Balaam se leva, partit et retourna chez lui. Balak s'en alla aussi de son côté.
