   ¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, ² Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead: ³ Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell. ⁴ And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel. ⁵ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, ⁶ Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty; ⁷ Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed. ⁸ But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him. ⁹ And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his. ¹⁰ And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his.
   ¹¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, ¹² Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him, ¹³ And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner; ¹⁴ And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled: ¹⁵ Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance. ¹⁶ And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD: ¹⁷ And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water: ¹⁸ And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse: ¹⁹ And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse: ²⁰ But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband: ²¹ Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell; ²² And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. ²³ And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water: ²⁴ And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter. ²⁵ Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar: ²⁶ And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water. ²⁷ And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. ²⁸ And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. ²⁹ This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled; ³⁰ Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law. ³¹ Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.

   ¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, ² Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD: ³ He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. ⁴ All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. ⁵ All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. ⁶ All the days that he separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body. ⁷ He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head. ⁸ All the days of his separation he is holy unto the LORD. ⁹ And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it. ¹⁰ And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: ¹¹ And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall hallow his head that same day. ¹² And he shall consecrate unto the LORD the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a trespass offering: but the days that were before shall be lost, because his separation was defiled. ¹³ And this is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: he shall be brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: ¹⁴ And he shall offer his offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, ¹⁵ And a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings. ¹⁶ And the priest shall bring them before the LORD, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering: ¹⁷ And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering. ¹⁸ And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings. ¹⁹ And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazarite, after the hair of his separation is shaven: ²⁰ And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine. ²¹ This is the law of the Nazarite who hath vowed, and of his offering unto the LORD for his separation, beside that that his hand shall get: according to the vow which he vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.
   ²² And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, ²³ Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, ²⁴ The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: ²⁵ The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: ²⁶ The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. ²⁷ And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.

   ¹ Puis l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant : ² Commande aux enfants d'Israël qu'ils mettent hors du camp tout lépreux, tout homme découlant, et tout homme souillé pour un mort. ³ Vous les mettrez dehors, tant l'homme que la femme, vous les mettrez, [dis-je], hors du camp, afin qu'ils ne souillent point le camp de ceux au milieu desquels j'habite. ⁴ Et les enfants d'Israël [le] firent ainsi, et les mirent hors du camp, comme l'Eternel l'avait dit à Moïse ; les enfants d'Israël [le] firent ainsi. ⁵ Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant : ⁶ Parle aux enfants d'Israël ; quand quelque homme ou quelque femme aura commis quelqu'un des péchés [que] l'homme [commet] en faisant un crime contre l'Eternel, [et] qu'une telle personne [en] sera trouvée coupable ; ⁷ Alors ils confesseront leur péché, qu'ils auront commis ; et [le coupable] restituera la somme totale de ce en quoi il aura été trouvé coupable, et il y ajoutera un cinquième par-dessus, et le donnera à celui contre lequel il aura commis le délit. ⁸ Que si cet homme n'a personne à qui appartienne le droit de retrait-lignager pour retirer ce en quoi aura été commis le délit, cette chose-là sera restituée à l'Eternel, et elle appartiendra au Sacrificateur, outre le bélier des propitiations avec lequel on fera propitiation pour lui. ⁹ Pareillement toute offrande élevée d'entre toutes les choses sanctifiées des enfants d'Israël, qu'ils présenteront au Sacrificateur, lui appartiendra. ¹⁰ Les choses donc que quelqu'un aura sanctifiées appartiendront au Sacrificateur ; ce que chacun lui aura donné, lui appartiendra.
   ¹¹ L'Eternel parla aussi à Moïse, en disant : ¹² Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et leur dis : Quand la femme de quelqu'un se sera débauchée, et aura commis un crime contre lui ; ¹³ Et que quelqu'un aura couché avec elle, et l'aura connue, sans que son mari en ait rien su ; mais qu'elle se soit cachée, et qu'elle se soit souillée, et qu'il n'y ait point de témoin contr'elle, et qu'elle n'ait point été surprise ; ¹⁴ Et que l'esprit de jalousie saisisse son [mari], tellement qu'il soit jaloux de sa femme, parce qu'elle s'est souillée ; ou que l'esprit de jalousie le saisisse tellement, qu'il soit jaloux de sa femme, encore qu'elle ne se soit point souillée ; ¹⁵ Cet homme-là fera venir sa femme devant le Sacrificateur, et il apportera l'offrande de cette femme pour elle, [savoir] la dixième partie d'un Epha de farine d'orge ; [mais] il ne répandra point d'huile dessus ; et il n'y mettra point d'encens ; car c'est un gâteau de jalousies, un gâteau de mémorial, pour remettre en mémoire l'iniquité. ¹⁶ Et le Sacrificateur la fera approcher, et la fera tenir debout en la présence de l'Eternel. ¹⁷ Puis le Sacrificateur prendra de l'eau sainte dans un vaisseau de terre, et de la poudre qui sera sur le pavé du pavillon, et la mettra dans l'eau. ¹⁸ Ensuite le Sacrificateur fera tenir debout la femme en la présence de l'Eternel, il découvrira la tête de cette femme, et il mettra sur les paumes des mains de cette femme le gâteau de mémorial, qui est le gâteau de jalousies ; et le Sacrificateur tiendra dans sa main les eaux amères, qui apportent la malédiction. ¹⁹ Et le Sacrificateur fera jurer la femme, et lui dira : Si aucun homme n'a couché avec toi, et si étant en la puissance de ton mari tu ne t'es point débauchée [et] souillée, sois exempte [du mal] de ces eaux amères qui apportent la malédiction. ²⁰ Mais si étant dans la puissance de ton mari tu t'es débauchée, et tu t'es souillée, et que quelqu'autre que ton mari ait couché avec toi ; ²¹ Alors le Sacrificateur fera jurer la femme par serment d'exécration, et le Sacrificateur dira à la femme : Que l'Eternel te livre à l'exécration à laquelle tu t'es assujettie par serment, au milieu de ton peuple, l'Eternel faisant tomber ta cuisse, et enfler ton ventre. ²² Et que ces eaux-là qui apportent la malédiction, entrent dans tes entrailles pour te faire enfler le ventre, et faire tomber ta cuisse. Alors la femme répondra, Amen, Amen. ²³ Ensuite le Sacrificateur écrira dans un livre ces exécrations, et les effacera avec les eaux amères. ²⁴ Et il fera boire à la femme les eaux amères qui apportent la malédiction, et les eaux qui apportent la malédiction entreront en elle, pour être des eaux amères. ²⁵ Le Sacrificateur donc prendra de la main de la femme le gâteau de jalousies, et le tournoiera devant l'Eternel, et l'offrira sur l'autel. ²⁶ Le Sacrificateur prendra aussi une pièce du gâteau, pour mémorial de ce gâteau, et le fera fumer sur l'autel ; puis il fera boire les eaux à la femme. ²⁷ Et après qu'il lui aura fait boire les eaux, s'il est vrai qu'elle se soit souillée et qu'elle ait commis le crime contre son mari, les eaux qui apportent la malédiction entreront en elle, pour être des eaux amères, et son ventre enflera, et sa cuisse tombera ; ainsi cette femme-là sera assujettie à l'exécration du serment au milieu de son peuple. ²⁸ Que si la femme ne s'est point souillée, mais qu'elle soit pure, elle ne recevra aucun mal, et elle aura des enfants. ²⁹ Telle est la Loi des jalousies, quand la femme qui est en la puissance de son mari s'est débauchée, et s'est souillée. ³⁰ Ou quand l'esprit de jalousie aura saisi le mari, et qu'étant jaloux de sa femme, il l'aura fait venir devant l'Eternel, et que le Sacrificateur aura fait à l'égard de cette femme tout ce qui est ordonné par cette loi. ³¹ Et l'homme sera exempt de faute ; mais cette femme portera son iniquité.

Vœu du Nazaréat, et ses lois.

   ¹ L'Eternel parla aussi a Moïse, en disant : ² Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et leur dis : Quand un homme ou une femme aura fait le voeu de Nazarien, pour se faire Nazarien à l'Eternel ; ³ Il s'abstiendra de vin et de cervoise, il ne boira d'aucun vinaigre fait de vin ou de cervoise, ni d'aucune liqueur de raisins, et il ne mangera point de raisins frais, ni de [raisins] secs. ⁴ Durant tous les jours de son Nazaréat il ne mangera d'aucun fruit de vigne, depuis les pépins jusqu'à la peau [du raisin]. ⁵ Le rasoir ne passera point sur sa tête durant tous les jours de son Nazaréat. Il sera saint jusqu'à ce que les jours pour lesquels il s'est fait Nazarien à l'Eternel soient accomplis, et il laissera croître les cheveux de sa tête. ⁶ Durant tous les jours pour lesquels il s'est fait Nazarien à l'Eternel il ne s'approchera d'aucune personne morte. ⁷ Il ne se souillera point pour son père, ni pour sa mère, ni pour son frère, ni pour sa soeur, quand ils seront morts ; car le Nazaréat de son Dieu est sur sa tête. ⁸ Durant tous les jours de son Nazaréat il est saint à l'Eternel. ⁹ Que si quelqu'un vient à mourir subitement auprès de lui, la tête de son Nazaréat sera souillée, et il rasera sa tête au jour de sa purification, il la rasera le septième jour. ¹⁰ Et le huitième jour il apportera au Sacrificateur deux tourterelles, ou deux pigeonneaux, à l'entrée du Tabernacle d'assignation. ¹¹ Et le Sacrificateur en sacrifiera l'un pour le péché, et l'autre en holocauste, et il fera propitiation pour lui de ce qu'il a péché à l'occasion du mort ; il sanctifiera donc ainsi sa tête en ce jour-là. ¹² Et il séparera à l'Eternel les jours de son Nazaréat, offrant un agneau d'un an pour le délit, et les premiers jours seront comptés pour rien ; car son Nazaréat a été souillé. ¹³ Or c'est ici la loi du Nazarien ; lorsque les jours de son Nazaréat seront accomplis, on le fera venir à la porte du Tabernacle d'assignation. ¹⁴ Et il fera son offrande l'Eternel d'un agneau d'un an sans tare, en holocauste, et d'une brebis d'un an sans tare, pour le péché, et d'un bélier sans tare, pour le sacrifice de prospérités ; ¹⁵ Et d'une corbeille de pains sans levain de gâteaux de fine farine, pétrie à l'huile, et de beignets sans levain, oints d'huile, avec leur gâteau, et leurs aspersions ; ¹⁶ Lesquels le Sacrificateur offrira devant l'Eternel ; il sacrifiera aussi sa victime pour le péché, et son holocauste. ¹⁷ Et il offrira le bélier en sacrifice de prospérités à l'Eternel, avec la corbeille des pains sans levain ; le Sacrificateur offrira aussi son gâteau, et son aspersion. ¹⁸ Et le Nazarien rasera la tête de son Nazaréat à l'entrée du Tabernacle d'assignation, et prendra les cheveux de la tête de son Nazaréat, et les mettra sur le feu qui est sous le sacrifice de prospérités. ¹⁹ Et le Sacrificateur prendra l'épaule bouillie du bélier, et un gâteau sans levain de la corbeille, et un beignet sans levain, et les mettra sur les paumes des mains du Nazarien, après qu'il se sera fait raser son Nazaréat. ²⁰ Et le Sacrificateur tournoiera ces choses en offrande tournoyée devant l'Eternel ; c'est une chose sainte qui appartient au Sacrificateur, avec la poitrine de tournoiement, et l'épaule d'élévation, après quoi le Nazarien pourra boire du vin. ²¹ Telle est la loi du Nazarien qui aura voué à l'Eternel son offrande pour son Nazaréat, outre ce qu'il aura [encore] moyen d'offrir ; il fera selon son voeu qu'il aura voué, suivant la loi de son Nazaréat.
   ²² L'Eternel parla aussi à Moïse, en disant : ²³ Parle à Aaron et à ses fils, et leur dis : Vous bénirez ainsi les enfants d'Israël, en leur disant : ²⁴ L'Eternel te bénisse, et te garde. ²⁵ L'Eternel fasse luire sa face sur toi, et te fasse grâce. ²⁶ L'Eternel tourne sa face vers toi, et te donne la paix. ²⁷ Ils mettront donc mon Nom sur les enfants d'Israël, et je les bénirai.
