WLC ⁸ אֶפְרַ֕יִם בָּעַמִּ֖ים ה֣וּא יִתְבּוֹלָ֑ל אֶפְרַ֛יִם הָיָ֥ה עֻגָ֖ה בְּלִ֥י הֲפוּכָֽה׃

KJV ⁹ Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.

S21 ⁹ Des étrangers dévorent sa force,
et il ne s'en doute pas;
la vieillesse s'empare de lui,
et il ne s'en doute pas.

WLC ⁹ אָכְל֤וּ זָרִים֙ כֹּח֔וֹ וְה֖וּא לֹ֣א יָדָ֑ע גַּם־ שֵׂיבָה֙ זָ֣רְקָה בּ֔וֹ וְה֖וּא לֹ֥א יָדָֽע׃

KJV ¹⁰ And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.

S21 ¹⁰ L'orgueil d'Israël témoigne contre lui:
ils ne reviennent pas à l'Eternel, leur Dieu,
et ils ne le recherchent pas, malgré tout cela.

WLC ¹⁰ וְעָנָ֥ה גְאֽוֹן־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּפָנָ֑יו וְלֹֽא־ שָׁ֙בוּ֙ אֶל־ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א בִקְשֻׁ֖הוּ בְּכָל־ זֹֽאת׃

KJV ¹¹ Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.

S21 ¹¹ Ephraïm est comme une colombe stupide, sans intelligence:
ils implorent l'Egypte, ils vont en Assyrie.

WLC ¹¹ וַיְהִ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם כְּיוֹנָ֥ה פוֹתָ֖ה אֵ֣ין לֵ֑ב מִצְרַ֥יִם קָרָ֖אוּ אַשּׁ֥וּר הָלָֽכוּ׃

KJV ¹² When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

S21 ¹² S'ils partent, j'étendrai sur eux mon filet,
je les ferai tomber comme les oiseaux du ciel,
je les corrigerai, comme ils en ont été avertis dans leur assemblée.

WLC ¹² כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵלֵ֗כוּ אֶפְר֤וֹשׂ עֲלֵיהֶם֙ רִשְׁתִּ֔י כְּע֥וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם אֽוֹרִידֵ֑ם אַיְסִרֵ֕ם כְּשֵׁ֖מַע לַעֲדָתָֽם׃

KJV ¹³ Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

S21 ¹³ Malheur à eux parce qu'ils me fuient!
Ruine sur eux parce qu'ils me sont infidèles!
Je voudrais les sauver,
mais ils disent des paroles mensongères contre moi.

WLC ¹³ א֤וֹי לָהֶם֙ כִּֽי־ נָדְד֣וּ מִמֶּ֔נִּי שֹׁ֥ד לָהֶ֖ם כִּֽי־ פָ֣שְׁעוּ בִ֑י וְאָנֹכִ֣י אֶפְדֵּ֔ם וְהֵ֕מָּה דִּבְּר֥וּ עָלַ֖י כְּזָבִֽים׃

KJV ¹⁴ And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.

S21 ¹⁴ Ils ne crient pas vers moi dans leur cœur,
mais ils se lamentent sur leur lit;
ils se rassemblent pour avoir du blé et du vin nouveau,
et ils s'éloignent de moi.

WLC ¹⁴ וְלֹֽא־ זָעֲק֤וּ אֵלַי֙ בְּלִבָּ֔ם כִּ֥י יְיֵלִ֖ילוּ עַל־ מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָ֑ם עַל־ דָּגָ֧ן וְתִיר֛וֹשׁ יִתְגּוֹרָ֖רוּ יָס֥וּרוּ בִֽי׃

KJV ¹⁵ Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

S21 ¹⁵ Je les ai corrigés, j'ai fortifié leurs bras,
et ils méditent le mal contre moi.

WLC ¹⁵ וַאֲנִ֣י יִסַּ֔רְתִּי חִזַּ֖קְתִּי זְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑ם וְאֵלַ֖י יְחַשְּׁבוּ־ רָֽע׃

KJV ¹⁶ They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

S21 ¹⁶ Ce n'est pas au Très-Haut qu'ils retournent;
ils sont pareils à un arc trompeur.
Leurs chefs tomberont par l'épée
à cause de l'insolence de leur propos.
C'est ce qui fera d'eux un objet de moquerie en Egypte.

WLC ¹⁶ יָשׁ֣וּבוּ ׀ לֹ֣א עָ֗ל הָיוּ֙ כְּקֶ֣שֶׁת רְמִיָּ֔ה יִפְּל֥וּ בַחֶ֛רֶב שָׂרֵיהֶ֖ם מִזַּ֣עַם לְשׁוֹנָ֑ם ז֥וֹ לַעְגָּ֖ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
