the ossifrage

Peres, from paras to break, probably the species of eagle anciently called ossifraga or bone-breaker - from os, a bone, and frango, to breakbecause it not only strips off the flesh, but breaks the bone, in order to extract the marrow.

the ospray

Hebrew ozniyah, Arabic azan, and Chaldee azyah, - from azaz, to be stronga species of eagle, probably the black eagle, so remarkable for its strength.
