KJV ¹² Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

KJV ¹³ And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.

KJV ¹⁴ He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on.

KJV ¹⁵ And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.

LSG ¹⁵ Et il dit: Tu sais que la royauté m'appartenait, et que tout Israël portait ses regards sur moi pour me faire régner. Mais la royauté a tourné, et elle est échue à mon frère, parce que l'Éternel la lui a donnée.

S21 ¹⁵ Et il dit: «Tu sais que la royauté aurait dû m'appartenir et que tout Israël portait les regards sur moi pour me faire régner. Mais la royauté s'est détournée de moi et elle est revenue à mon frère, parce que l'Eternel la lui a donnée.

KJV ¹⁶ And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.

LSG ¹⁶ Maintenant, je te demande une chose: ne me la refuse pas ! Elle lui répondit: Parle !

S21 ¹⁶ Maintenant, j'ai une demande à te faire. Ne me repousse pas!» Elle lui répondit: «Parle!»

KJV ¹⁷ And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.

LSG ¹⁷ Et il dit: Dis, je te prie, au roi Salomon-car il ne te le refusera pas-qu'il me donne pour femme Abischag, la Sunamite.

S21 ¹⁷ Et il dit: «Je t'en prie, dis au roi Salomon de me donner pour femme Abishag, la Sunamite, car il ne te repoussera pas.»

KJV ¹⁸ And Bathsheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.

KJV ¹⁹ Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.

S21 ¹⁹ Bath-Shéba alla donc trouver le roi Salomon pour lui parler en faveur d'Adonija. Le roi se leva pour aller à sa rencontre et se prosterna devant elle, puis il s'assit sur son trône. Le roi fit placer un trône pour sa mère et elle s'assit à sa droite.

KJV ²⁰ Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

LSG ²⁰ Puis elle dit: J'ai une petite demande à te faire: ne me la refuse pas ! Et le roi lui dit: Demande, ma mère, car je ne te refuserai pas.

S21 ²⁰ Elle dit alors: «J'ai une petite demande à te faire. Ne me repousse pas!» Le roi lui dit: «Fais ta demande, ma mère, car je ne te repousserai pas.»

KJV ²¹ And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife.

LSG ²¹ Elle dit: Qu'Abischag, la Sunamite, soit donnée pour femme à Adonija, ton frère.

S21 ²¹ Elle dit: «Qu'Abishag, la Sunamite, soit donnée pour femme à ton frère Adonija!»

KJV ²² And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

LSG ²² Le roi Salomon répondit à sa mère: Pourquoi demandes-tu Abischag, la Sunamite, pour Adonija ? Demande donc la royauté pour lui, -car il est mon frère aîné, -pour lui, pour le sacrificateur Abiathar, et pour Joab, fils de Tseruja !

S21 ²² Le roi Salomon répondit à sa mère: «Pourquoi demandes-tu Abishag, la Sunamite, pour Adonija? Demande donc la royauté pour lui, puisqu'il est mon frère aîné! Demande-la pour lui, pour le prêtre Abiathar et pour Joab, le fils de Tseruja!»

KJV ²³ Then king Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

LSG ²³ Alors le roi Salomon jura par l'Éternel, en disant: Que Dieu me traite dans toute sa rigueur, si ce n'est pas au prix de sa vie qu'Adonija a prononcé cette parole !

S21 ²³ Alors le roi Salomon prêta ce serment par l'Eternel: «Que Dieu me traite avec la plus grande sévérité, si ce n'est pas au prix de sa vie qu'Adonija a prononcé cette parole!

KJV ²⁴ Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.

LSG ²⁴ Maintenant, l'Éternel est vivant, lui qui m'a affermi et m'a fait asseoir sur le trône de David, mon père, et qui m'a fait une maison selon sa promesse ! aujourd'hui Adonija mourra.

S21 ²⁴ Maintenant, l'Eternel est vivant, lui qui m'a solidement établi et m'a fait asseoir sur le trône de mon père David et qui m'a donné une maison, conformément à sa promesse! Aujourd'hui Adonija mourra.»

KJV ²⁵ And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

LSG ²⁵ Et le roi Salomon envoya Benaja, fils de Jehojada, qui le frappa ; et Adonija mourut.
