BAN ³ Puis Abraham se leva d'auprès du corps et parla ainsi aux fils de Heth :

KJV ³ And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying,

BAN ⁴ Je suis chez vous un étranger et un hôte ; accordez-moi de posséder parmi vous un lieu de sépulture, que je puisse enlever de devant moi mon mort pour l'ensevelir.

KJV ⁴ I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.

BAN ⁵ Et les fils de Heth répondirent à Abraham en lui disant :

KJV ⁵ And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,

BAN ⁶ Ecoute-nous, mon seigneur ; tu es un prince de Dieu au milieu de nous ; ensevelis ton mort dans le meilleur de nos sépulcres ; aucun de nous ne te refusera son sépulcre pour ensevelir ton mort.

KJV ⁶ Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.

BAN ⁷ Alors Abraham se leva et se prosterna devant le peuple du pays, les fils de Heth.

KJV ⁷ And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.

BAN ⁸ Et il leur dit : Si vous voulez que j'enlève de devant moi mon mort pour l'ensevelir, écoutez-moi et intercédez pour moi auprès d'Ephron, fils de Tsohar,

KJV ⁸ And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,

BAN ⁹ pour qu'il me donne la caverne de Macpéla, qui est à lui et qui est au bout de son champ, qu'il me la donne en votre présence pour l'argent qu'elle vaut, comme un sépulcre qui m'appartienne.

KJV ⁹ That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.

BAN ¹⁰ Or Ephron était assis au milieu des fils de Heth, et Ephron le Héthien répondit à Abraham en présence des fils de Heth, de tous ceux qui entraient par la porte de sa ville ; il lui dit :

KJV ¹⁰ And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,

BAN ¹¹ Non, mon seigneur, écoute-moi : je te donne le champ et je te donne la caverne qui y est ; je te la donne aux yeux des fils de mon peuple ; enterre ton mort.

KJV ¹¹ Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.

BAN ¹² Et Abraham se prosterna devant le peuple du pays

KJV ¹² And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.

BAN ¹³ et parla à Ephron en ces termes en présence du peuple du pays : Qu'il te plaise seulement de m'écouter : je donne le prix du champ ; reçois-le de moi, et j'enterrerai là mon mort.

KJV ¹³ And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.

BAN ¹⁴ Et Ephron répondit à Abraham en lui disant :

KJV ¹⁴ And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,

BAN ¹⁵ Mon seigneur, écoute : une terre de quatre cents sicles d'argent, entre moi et toi qu'est-ce que cela ? Enterre ton mort.

KJV ¹⁵ My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.
