KJV ¹ After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

S21 ¹ Après cela, Jésus continua de parcourir la Galilée; il ne voulait pas séjourner en Judée car les Juifs cherchaient à le faire mourir.

KJV ² Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.

S21 ² Or, la fête juive des tentes était proche.

KJV ³ His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

S21 ³ Ses frères lui dirent: «Pars d'ici et va en Judée afin que tes disciples voient aussi ce que tu fais.

KJV ⁴ For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

S21 ⁴ Personne n'agit en secret, s'il cherche à être connu. Puisque tu fais ce genre de choses, montre-toi au monde!»

KJV ⁵ For neither did his brethren believe in him.

S21 ⁵ En effet, ses frères non plus ne croyaient pas en lui.

KJV ⁶ Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

S21 ⁶ Jésus leur dit: «Le moment n'est pas encore venu pour moi, tandis que pour vous, c'est toujours le bon moment.

KJV ⁷ The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

S21 ⁷ Le monde ne peut pas vous détester, tandis que moi, il me déteste parce que je témoigne à son sujet que sa manière d'agir est mauvaise.

KJV ⁸ Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.

S21 ⁸ Montez donc à cette fête! Quant à moi, je n'y monte pas encore parce que le moment n'est pas encore arrivé pour moi.»

KJV ⁹ When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

S21 ⁹ Après leur avoir dit cela, il resta en Galilée.

KJV ¹⁰ But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

S21 ¹⁰ Lorsque ses frères furent montés à la fête, il y monta aussi lui-même, non pas en se montrant, mais [comme] en secret.

KJV ¹¹ Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

S21 ¹¹ Les Juifs le cherchaient pendant la fête et disaient: «Où est-il?»

KJV ¹² And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

S21 ¹² Dans la foule, on murmurait beaucoup à son sujet. Les uns disaient: «C'est un homme bien.» D'autres disaient: «Non, au contraire, il égare le peuple.»

KJV ¹³ Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

S21 ¹³ Personne, toutefois, ne parlait ouvertement de lui, par crainte des chefs juifs.

KJV ¹⁴ Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

S21 ¹⁴ C'était déjà le milieu de la fête lorsque Jésus monta au temple et se mit à enseigner.

KJV ¹⁵ And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

S21 ¹⁵ Les Juifs s'étonnaient et disaient: «Comment connaît-il les Ecritures, lui qui n'a pas étudié?»

KJV ¹⁶ Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

S21 ¹⁶ Jésus leur répondit: «Mon enseignement ne vient pas de moi mais de celui qui m'a envoyé.

KJV ¹⁷ If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

S21 ¹⁷ Si quelqu'un veut faire la volonté de Dieu, il saura si mon enseignement vient de Dieu ou si je parle de ma propre initiative.

KJV ¹⁸ He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

S21 ¹⁸ Celui qui parle de sa propre initiative cherche sa propre gloire, mais si quelqu'un cherche la gloire de celui qui l'a envoyé, celui-là est vrai et il n'y a pas d'injustice en lui.

KJV ¹⁹ Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

S21 ¹⁹ Moïse ne vous a-t-il pas donné la loi? Or, aucun de vous ne la met en pratique. Pourquoi cherchez-vous à me faire mourir?»

KJV ²⁰ The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

S21 ²⁰ La foule répondit: «Tu as un démon. Qui cherche à te faire mourir?»

KJV ²¹ Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

S21 ²¹ Jésus leur répondit: «Pour une seule œuvre que j'ai faite, vous êtes tous étonnés.

KJV ²² Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

S21 ²² Moïse vous a donné la circoncision - qui ne vient du reste pas de lui, mais des patriarches - et vous circoncisez un homme le jour du sabbat.

KJV ²³ If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

S21 ²³ Si pour respecter la loi de Moïse un homme reçoit la circoncision le jour du sabbat, pourquoi vous irritez-vous contre moi parce que j'ai guéri un homme tout entier le jour du sabbat?

KJV ²⁴ Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

S21 ²⁴ Ne jugez pas d'après l'apparence, mais portez un jugement juste.»
