KJV ¹ The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

S21 ¹ Voici le commencement de l'Evangile de Jésus-Christ, Fils de Dieu,

KJV ² As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

S21 ² conformément à ce qui est écrit dans les prophètes: Voici, j'envoie mon messager devant toi pour te préparer le chemin.

KJV ³ The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

S21 ³ C'est la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert: ‘Préparez le chemin du Seigneur, rendez ses sentiers droits.' 

KJV ⁴ John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

S21 ⁴ Jean parut; il baptisait dans le désert et prêchait le baptême de repentance pour le pardon des péchés.

KJV ⁵ And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

S21 ⁵ Toute la région de Judée et tous les habitants de Jérusalem se rendaient vers lui. Reconnaissant publiquement leurs péchés, ils se faisaient baptiser par lui dans l'eau du Jourdain.

KJV ⁶ And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

S21 ⁶ Jean portait un vêtement en poil de chameau et une ceinture de cuir autour de la taille. Il se nourrissait de sauterelles et de miel sauvage.

KJV ⁷ And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

S21 ⁷ Il proclamait: «Après moi vient celui qui est plus puissant que moi, et je ne suis pas digne de me baisser pour détacher la courroie de ses sandales.

KJV ⁸ I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

S21 ⁸ Moi, je vous ai baptisés d'eau; lui, il vous baptisera du Saint-Esprit.»

KJV ⁹ And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

S21 ⁹ A cette époque-là, Jésus vint de Nazareth en Galilée, et il fut baptisé par Jean dans le Jourdain.

KJV ¹⁰ And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

S21 ¹⁰ Au moment où il sortait de l'eau, il vit le ciel s'ouvrir et l'Esprit descendre sur lui comme une colombe,

KJV ¹¹ And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

S21 ¹¹ et une voix se fit entendre du ciel: «Tu es mon Fils bien-aimé, tu as toute mon approbation.»

KJV ¹² And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

S21 ¹² Aussitôt, l'Esprit poussa Jésus dans le désert

KJV ¹³ And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

S21 ¹³ où il passa 40 jours, tenté par Satan. Il était avec les bêtes sauvages et les anges le servaient.

KJV ¹⁴ Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

S21 ¹⁴ Après que Jean eut été arrêté, Jésus alla en Galilée. Il proclamait la bonne nouvelle [du royaume] de Dieu

KJV ¹⁵ And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

S21 ¹⁵ et disait: «Le moment est arrivé et le royaume de Dieu est proche. Changez d'attitude et croyez à la bonne nouvelle!»

KJV ¹⁶ Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

S21 ¹⁶ Comme il marchait le long du lac de Galilée, il vit Simon et André, frère de Simon, qui jetaient un filet dans le lac; c'étaient en effet des pêcheurs.

KJV ¹⁷ And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

S21 ¹⁷ Jésus leur dit: «Suivez-moi, et je ferai de vous des pêcheurs d'hommes.»

KJV ¹⁸ And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

S21 ¹⁸ Aussitôt, ils laissèrent leurs filets et le suivirent.

KJV ¹⁹ And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

S21 ¹⁹ Il alla un peu plus loin et vit Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et son frère Jean, qui étaient eux aussi dans une barque et réparaient les filets.

KJV ²⁰ And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

S21 ²⁰ Aussitôt, il les appela; ils laissèrent leur père Zébédée dans la barque avec les ouvriers et le suivirent.

KJV ²¹ And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

S21 ²¹ Ils se rendirent à Capernaüm. Dès le jour du sabbat, Jésus entra dans la synagogue et se mit à enseigner.

KJV ²² And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

S21 ²² On était frappé par son enseignement, car il enseignait avec autorité, et non pas comme les spécialistes de la loi.

KJV ²³ And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

S21 ²³ Il y avait dans leur synagogue un homme qui avait un esprit impur. Il s'écria:

KJV ²⁴ Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

S21 ²⁴ «[Ah!] Que nous veux-tu, Jésus de Nazareth? Es-tu venu pour nous perdre? Je sais qui tu es: le Saint de Dieu.»

KJV ²⁵ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

S21 ²⁵ Jésus le menaça en disant: «Tais-toi et sors de cet homme.»

KJV ²⁶ And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

S21 ²⁶ L'esprit impur sortit de cet homme en le secouant violemment et en poussant un grand cri.

KJV ²⁷ And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

S21 ²⁷ Tous furent si effrayés qu'ils se demandaient les uns aux autres: «Qu'est-ce que ceci? Quel est ce nouvel enseignement? Il commande avec autorité même aux esprits impurs, et ils lui obéissent!»

KJV ²⁸ And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

S21 ²⁸ Et sa réputation gagna aussitôt toute la région de la Galilée.
