S21 ¹ Il leur dit encore: «Je vous le dis en vérité, quelques-uns de ceux qui sont ici ne mourront pas avant d'avoir vu le royaume de Dieu venir avec puissance.»

KJV ² And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

S21 ² Six jours après, Jésus prit avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, et il les conduisit seuls à l'écart sur une haute montagne. Il fut transfiguré devant eux;

KJV ³ And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.

S21 ³ ses vêtements devinrent resplendissants et d'une telle blancheur que personne sur la terre ne peut blanchir ainsi.

KJV ⁴ And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

S21 ⁴ Elie et Moïse leur apparurent; ils s'entretenaient avec Jésus.

KJV ⁵ And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

S21 ⁵ Pierre prit la parole et dit à Jésus: «Maître, il est bon que nous soyons ici. Faisons trois abris: un pour toi, un pour Moïse et un pour Elie.»

KJV ⁶ For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

S21 ⁶ Il ne savait que dire, car ils étaient effrayés.

KJV ⁷ And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

S21 ⁷ Une nuée vint les couvrir, et de la nuée sortit une voix: «Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé: écoutez-le!»

KJV ⁸ And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.

S21 ⁸ Aussitôt les disciples regardèrent tout autour et ils ne virent plus que Jésus seul avec eux.

KJV ⁹ And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.

S21 ⁹ Comme ils descendaient de la montagne, Jésus leur recommanda de ne dire ce qu'ils avaient vu à personne jusqu'à ce que le Fils de l'homme soit ressuscité.

KJV ¹⁰ And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.

S21 ¹⁰ Ils retinrent cette parole, se demandant entre eux ce que signifiait ressusciter.

KJV ¹¹ And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?

S21 ¹¹ Puis ils lui posèrent cette question: «Pourquoi les spécialistes de la loi disent-ils qu'Elie doit venir d'abord?»

KJV ¹² And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

S21 ¹² Il leur répondit: «Elie doit venir d'abord pour rétablir toutes choses. Et pourquoi est-il écrit, à propos du Fils de l'homme, qu'il doit souffrir beaucoup et être méprisé?

KJV ¹³ But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

S21 ¹³ Mais je vous le dis: Elie est déjà venu et ils l'ont traité comme ils ont voulu, conformément à ce qui est écrit à son sujet.»
