BAN ¹⁴ Et étant venus vers les disciples, ils virent une grande foule autour d'eux et des scribes qui discutaient avec eux.

KJV ¹⁴ And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.

BAN ¹⁵ Et aussitôt toute la foule, l'ayant vu, fut saisie d'étonnement, et accourant, ils le saluaient.

KJV ¹⁵ And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.

BAN ¹⁶ Et il leur demanda : De quoi disputez-vous avec eux ?

KJV ¹⁶ And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?

BAN ¹⁷ Et un homme de la foule lui répondit : Maître, je t'ai amené mon fils, qui a un esprit muet ;

KJV ¹⁷ And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;

BAN ¹⁸ et partout où il le saisit, il le jette par terre ; et il écume, et grince les dents, et devient tout raide. Et j'ai prié tes disciples de le chasser, mais ils n'ont pu.

KJV ¹⁸ And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

BAN ¹⁹ Mais Jésus répondant, leur dit : génération incrédule ! jusqu'à quand serai-je avec vous ? Jusqu'à quand vous supporterai-je ? Amenez-le-moi.

KJV ¹⁹ He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

BAN ²⁰ Et ils le lui amenèrent, et aussitôt qu'il vit Jésus, l'esprit l'agita avec violence, et étant tombé par terre, il se roulait en écumant.

KJV ²⁰ And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

BAN ²¹ Et Jésus interrogea son père : Combien y a-t-il de temps que cela lui arrive ? Et il dit : Depuis son enfance ;

KJV ²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

BAN ²² et souvent il l'a jeté et dans le feu et dans l'eau, pour le faire périr ; mais si tu peux quelque chose, secours-nous, par compassion pour nous.

KJV ²² And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

BAN ²³ Mais Jésus lui dit : Quant au si tu peux, toutes choses sont possibles pour celui qui croit.

KJV ²³ Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

BAN ²⁴ Aussitôt le père de l'enfant s'écriant, dit : Je crois, viens au secours de mon incrédulité !

KJV ²⁴ And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

BAN ²⁵ Mais Jésus voyant accourir la foule, reprit sévèrement l'esprit impur, en lui disant : Esprit muet et sourd, moi je te l'ordonne, sors de lui et ne rentre plus en lui.

KJV ²⁵ When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

BAN ²⁶ Et ayant jeté un cri, et agité l'enfant avec violence, il sortit. Et l'enfant devint comme mort ; de sorte que la plupart disaient : Il est mort.

KJV ²⁶ And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

BAN ²⁷ Mais Jésus, l'ayant pris par la main, le releva ; et il se tint debout.

KJV ²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

BAN ²⁸ Et lorsqu'il fut entré dans une maison, ses disciples lui demandaient en particulier : Pourquoi, nous, n'avons-nous pas pu le chasser ?

KJV ²⁸ And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?

BAN ²⁹ Et il leur dit : Cette espèce de démon ne peut sortir en aucune manière, si ce n'est par la prière et par le jeûne.

KJV ²⁹ And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
