KJV ³ And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

BCC ⁴ Une génération mauvaise et adultère réclame un signe : il ne lui sera pas donné d'autre signe que le signe de Jonas. " Et les laissant, il s'en alla.

KJV ⁴ A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

BCC ⁸ Jésus le connut et dit : "hommes de peu de foi, pourquoi vous faites-vous la réflexion que c'est parce que vous n'avez pas pris de pains ?

KJV ⁸ Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?

BCC ⁹ Ne saisissez-vous pas encore et ne vous rappelez-vous pas les cinq pains des cinq mille, et combien de paniers vous avez emportés ?

KJV ⁹ Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

BCC ¹¹ Comment ne saisissez-vous pas que ce n'est pas à propos des pains que je vous l'ai dit ? Gardez-vous du levain des Pharisiens et des Sadducéens."

KJV ¹¹ How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

KJV ⁴ Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

KJV ⁹ And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

BCC ¹⁰ Les disciples l'interrogèrent, disant : "pourquoi donc les scribes disent-ils qu'il faut qu'Élie vienne d'abord ?"

KJV ¹⁰ And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

BCC ¹¹ Il répondit : "Élie vient en effet, et il restaurera toutes choses.

KJV ¹¹ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

BCC ¹² Mais je vous dis qu'Élie est déjà venu ; et ils ne l'ont pas reconnu, mais ils l'on traité comme ils ont voulu. De même le Fils de l'homme doit souffrir par eux."

KJV ¹² But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

BCC ¹³ Les disciples comprirent alors qu'il leur avait parlé de Jean le Baptiste.

KJV ¹³ Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

KJV ¹⁵ Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

BCC ¹⁶ Je l'ai amené à vos disciples, et ils n'ont pas pu le guérir."

KJV ¹⁶ And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

BCC ¹⁷ Jésus répondit : "ô génération incrédule et perverse, jusques à quand serai-je avec vous ? Jusques à quand vous supporterai-je ? Amenez-le-moi ici."

KJV ¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

BCC ¹⁸ Et Jésus lui commanda avec force, et le démon sortit de lui, et l'enfant fut guéri à l'heure même.

KJV ¹⁸ And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

BCC ²⁰ Il leur dit : "à cause de votre manque de foi. En vérité, je vous le dis, si vous avez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous direz à cette montagne : passe d'ici là, et elle y passera, et rien ne vous sera impossible.

KJV ²⁰ And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

KJV ² And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

BCC ³ et dit : "Je vous le dis, en vérité, si vous ne changez et ne devenez comme les enfants, vous n'entrerez point dans le royaume des cieux.

KJV ³ And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

BCC ⁴ Celui donc qui se fera humble comme ce petit enfant est le plus grand dans le royaume des cieux.

KJV ⁴ Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

BCC ⁵ Et celui qui reçoit en mon nom un enfant comme celui-ci, c'est moi qu'il reçoit.

KJV ⁵ And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

BCC ⁶ Mais celui qui scandalisera un de ces petits qui croient en moi, mieux vaudrait pour lui qu'on lui suspende une meule à âne autour de cou et qu'on le précipite au fond de la mer.

KJV ⁶ But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

BCC ⁷ Malheur au monde à cause des scandales ! C'est une nécessité qu'il arrive des scandales ; mais malheur à l'homme par qui le scandale arrive !

KJV ⁷ Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

BCC ⁸ Si ta main ou ton pied est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-le et jette-le loin de toi : il vaut mieux pour toi entrer dans la vie manchot ou boiteux, que d'être jeté, ayant deux mains ou deux pieds, dans le feu éternel.

KJV ⁸ Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

BCC ⁹ Et si ton oeil est pour toi une occasion de chute, arrache-le et jette-le loin de toi ; il vaut mieux pour toi entrer borgne dans la vie, que d'être jeté, ayant deux yeux, dans la géhenne du feu.

KJV ⁹ And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

BCC ¹⁰ Prenez garde de mépriser aucun de ces petits, car je vous dis que leurs anges dans les cieux voient sans cesse la face de mon Père qui est dans les cieux.

KJV ¹⁰ Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

KJV ¹¹ For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

BCC ¹⁵ Si ton frère a péché contre toi, va reprends-le entre toi et lui seul ; s'il t'écoute, tu auras gagné ton frère.

KJV ¹⁵ Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

BCC ¹⁶ S'il ne t'écoute pas, prends avec toi encore une ou deux (personnes), afin que toute chose se décide sur la parole de deux ou trois témoins.

KJV ¹⁶ But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

KJV ²¹ Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

BCC ²² Jésus lui dit : "Je ne te dis pas jusqu'à sept fois, mais jusqu'à septante fois sept fois.

KJV ²² Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

BCC ²³ C'est pourquoi le royaume des cieux est semblable à un roi qui voulu régler ses comptes avec ses serviteurs.

KJV ²³ Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

BCC ²⁴ Quand il se mit à régler les comptes, on lui amena un débiteur de dix mille talents.

KJV ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

BCC ²⁵ Comme il n'avait pas de quoi payer, son maître ordonna qu'on le vendît, lui, sa femme, ses enfants et tout ce qu'il avait pour que paiement fût fait.

KJV ²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

BCC ²⁸ Ce serviteur, à peine sorti, rencontra un de ses compagnons de service, qui lui devait cent deniers. L'ayant saisi à la gorge, il l'étouffait, disant : "paie ce que tu dois."

KJV ²⁸ But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

KJV ²⁹ And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

KJV ³⁰ And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

BCC ³¹ Ce que voyant, ses compagnons de service furent grandement contristés, et ils vinrent raconter à leur maître ce qui s'était passé.

KJV ³¹ So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

BCC ³² Alors le maître le fit appeler et lui dit : "serviteur méchant, je t'ai remis toute cette dette, parce que tu m'as supplié.

KJV ³² Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

BCC ³³ Ne devais-tu pas, toi aussi, avoir pitié de ton compagnon de service, comme moi-même j'ai eu pitié de toi ?"

KJV ³³ Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

BCC ⁴ Il répondit : "n'avez-vous pas lu que celui qui (les créa), au commencement, les fit mâle et femelle,

KJV ⁴ And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

BCC ⁵ et qu'il dit : à cause de cela, l'homme quittera son père et sa mère, et s'attachera à sa femme, et les deux deviendront une seule chair ?

KJV ⁵ And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

BCC ⁶ Ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair. Que l'homme ne sépare donc pas ce que Dieu a uni !"

KJV ⁶ Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

BCC ⁷ Ils lui dirent : "pourquoi donc Moïse a-t-il prescrit de donner un acte de divorce et de la répudier ? "

KJV ⁷ They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

BCC ⁸ Il leur dit : "c'est à cause de votre dureté de coeur que Moïse vous a permis de répudier vos femmes : mais, au commencement, il n'en fut pas ainsi.

KJV ⁸ He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

BCC ⁹ Or je vous dis que celui qui répudie sa femme, si ce n'est pour adultère, et en épouse une autre, commet un adultère."

KJV ⁹ And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

KJV ¹⁰ His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

BCC ⁵ Et ils y allèrent. Il sortit encore vers la sixième et la neuvième heure, et fit la même chose.

KJV ⁵ Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.

BCC ⁶ Etant sorti vers la onzième (heure), il en trouva d'autres qui stationnaient, et il leur dit : "pourquoi stationnez-vous ici toute la journée sans rien faire ?"

KJV ⁶ And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

KJV ¹² Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

KJV ¹³ But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

KJV ¹⁴ Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

KJV ¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

BCC ¹⁷ Comme Jésus allait monter à Jérusalem, il prit à part les Douze et leur dit en chemin :

KJV ³⁴ So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

BCC ¹ Lorsqu'ils approchèrent de Jérusalem et furent arrivés à Bethphagé, vers le mont des Oliviers, Jésus envoya deux de ses disciples, leur disant :

KJV ⁵ Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

BCC ⁶ Les disciples allèrent donc et firent comme Jésus leur avait commandé.

KJV ⁷ And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

KJV ⁸ And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

BCC ¹⁶ et ils lui dirent : "entendez-vous ce qu'ils disent ? ‒ Oui, leur dit Jésus. N'avez-vous jamais lu : de la bouche des petits enfants et des nourrissons vous avez préparé une louange ?"

KJV ¹⁶ And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

KJV ¹⁹ And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

KJV ²⁰ And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

BCC ²¹ Jésus leur répondit : "en vérité, je vous le dis, si vous avez la foi et que vous n'hésitiez point, non seulement vous ferez ce (qui a été fait) au figuier ; mais quand même vous diriez à cette montagne : "ôte-toi de là et jette-toi dans la mer, " cela se fera.

KJV ²¹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

KJV ²⁴ And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

BCC ²⁵ Le baptême de Jean, d'où était-il ? du ciel, ou des hommes ? "mais ils faisaient en eux-mêmes cette réflexion : Si nous disons : "du ciel," il nous dira : "pourquoi donc n'avez-vous pas cru en lui ?"

KJV ²⁵ The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

KJV ²⁷ And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

KJV ²⁸ But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

KJV ²⁹ He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

KJV ³⁰ And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

BCC ³¹ "Lequel des deux a fait la volonté du père ? ‒ Le dernier, " disent-ils. Jésus leur dit : " Je vous le dis en vérité, les publicains et les courtisanes vous devancent dans le royaume de Dieu.

KJV ³¹ Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

KJV ³⁷ But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

BCC ³⁸ Mais quand les vignerons virent le fils, ils se dirent entre eux : "voici l'héritier ; venez, tuons-le, et nous aurons son héritage. "

KJV ³⁸ But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

BCC ³⁹ Et s'étant saisis de lui, ils le jetèrent hors de la vigne et le tuèrent.

KJV ³⁹ And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

BCC ⁴⁰ Lors donc que reviendra le maître de la vigne, que fera-t-il à ces vignerons ?"

KJV ⁴⁰ When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

BCC ⁴¹ Ils lui dirent : "il fera périr misérablement ces misérables, et il affermera la vigne à d'autres vignerons, qui lui en donneront les fruits en leur saison."

KJV ⁴¹ They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

BCC ⁴² Jésus leur dit : "n'avez-vous jamais lu dans les Écritures : La pierre qu'ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient est devenue tête d'angle ; c'est par le Seigneur qu'elle l'est devenue, et c'est merveille à nos yeux ?

KJV ⁴² Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

BCC ⁴³ C'est pourquoi je vous le dis : le royaume de Dieu vous sera ôté pour être donné à un peuple qui en produira les fruits.

KJV ⁴³ Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
