BCC ¹ Six jours après, Jésus prend avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean son frère, et il les emmène à l'écart sur une haute montagne

KJV ¹ And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

BCC ² Et il se transfigura devant eux : son visage resplendit comme le soleil, et ses vêtements devinrent blancs comme la lumière.

KJV ² And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

BCC ³ Et voilà que Moïse et Élie leur apparurent, conversant avec lui.

KJV ³ And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

BCC ⁴ Prenant la parole, Pierre dit à Jésus : "Seigneur, il nous est bon d'être ici ; si vous le voulez, je ferai ici trois tentes, une pour vous, une pour Moïse et une pour Élie."

KJV ⁴ Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

BCC ⁵ Il parlait encore, lorsqu'une nuée lumineuse les couvrit, et voilà que du sein de la nuée une voix dit : "Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui j'ai mis mes complaisances : écoutez-le."

KJV ⁵ While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

BCC ⁶ En entendant, les disciples tombèrent la face contre terre et furent saisis d'une grande frayeur.

KJV ⁶ And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

BCC ⁷ Et Jésus, s'approchant, les toucha et dit : "levez-vous, ne craignez point."

KJV ⁷ And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

BCC ⁸ Levant les yeux, ils ne virent plus que Jésus seul.

KJV ⁸ And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

BCC ⁹ Comme ils descendaient de la montagne, Jésus leur fit ce commandement : "ne parlez à personne de cette vision, jusqu'à ce que le Fils de l'homme soit ressuscité des morts."

KJV ⁹ And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

BCC ¹⁰ Les disciples l'interrogèrent, disant : "pourquoi donc les scribes disent-ils qu'il faut qu'Élie vienne d'abord ?"

KJV ¹⁰ And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

BCC ¹¹ Il répondit : "Élie vient en effet, et il restaurera toutes choses.

KJV ¹¹ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

BCC ¹² Mais je vous dis qu'Élie est déjà venu ; et ils ne l'ont pas reconnu, mais ils l'on traité comme ils ont voulu. De même le Fils de l'homme doit souffrir par eux."

KJV ¹² But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

BCC ¹³ Les disciples comprirent alors qu'il leur avait parlé de Jean le Baptiste.

KJV ¹³ Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

BCC ¹⁴ Quand ils furent arrivés près de la foule, un homme s'approcha de lui et, tombant à genoux devant lui, dit :

KJV ¹⁴ And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,

BCC ¹⁵ "Seigneur, ayez pitié de mon fils, car il est lunatique et il est bien mal : en effet il tombe souvent dans le feu et souvent dans l'eau.

KJV ¹⁵ Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

BCC ¹⁶ Je l'ai amené à vos disciples, et ils n'ont pas pu le guérir."

KJV ¹⁶ And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.

BCC ¹⁷ Jésus répondit : "ô génération incrédule et perverse, jusques à quand serai-je avec vous ? Jusques à quand vous supporterai-je ? Amenez-le-moi ici."

KJV ¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

BCC ¹⁸ Et Jésus lui commanda avec force, et le démon sortit de lui, et l'enfant fut guéri à l'heure même.

KJV ¹⁸ And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

BCC ¹⁹ Alors les disciples vinrent trouver Jésus, en particulier, et dirent :" Pourquoi n'avons-nous pas pu le chasser ?"

KJV ¹⁹ Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

BCC ²⁰ Il leur dit : "à cause de votre manque de foi. En vérité, je vous le dis, si vous avez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous direz à cette montagne : passe d'ici là, et elle y passera, et rien ne vous sera impossible.

KJV ²⁰ And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

BCC ²¹ Mais ce genre (de démon) n'est chassé que par la prière et le jeûne."

KJV ²¹ Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

BCC ²² Comme ils étaient groupés en Galilée, Jésus leur dit : "le Fils de l'homme doit être livré entre les mains des hommes,

KJV ²² And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:

BCC ²³ et ils le mettront à mort, et il ressuscitera le troisième jour. "Et ils furent vivement attristés.

KJV ²³ And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

BCC ²⁴ Lorsqu'ils furent arrivés à Capharnaüm, ceux qui recueillaient les didrachmes s'approchèrent de Pierre et dirent : "votre Maître ne paie-t-il pas les didrachmes ?"

KJV ²⁴ And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?

BCC ²⁵ Il dit : "si." Et quand il entra dans la maison, Jésus le prévint disant : "que t'en semble, Simon ? De qui les rois de la terre perçoivent-ils taxes ou impôt ? De leurs fils ou des étrangers ?"

KJV ²⁵ He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

BCC ²⁶ Comme il disait : "des étrangers," Jésus lui dit : "les fils en sont donc exempts.

KJV ²⁶ Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

BCC ²⁷ Mais pour ne pas les scandaliser, va à la mer, jette l'hameçon, tire le premier poisson qui montera ; puis, lui ouvrant la bouche, tu y trouveras un statère ; prends-le et donne-le-leur pour moi et pour toi."

KJV ²⁷ Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

BCC ¹ En ce moment-là, les disciples s'approchèrent de Jésus et dirent : " Qui donc est le plus grand dans le royaume des cieux ?"

KJV ¹ At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

BCC ² Alors ayant fait venir un enfant, il le plaça au milieu d'eux

KJV ² And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

BCC ³ et dit : "Je vous le dis, en vérité, si vous ne changez et ne devenez comme les enfants, vous n'entrerez point dans le royaume des cieux.

KJV ³ And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

BCC ⁴ Celui donc qui se fera humble comme ce petit enfant est le plus grand dans le royaume des cieux.

KJV ⁴ Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

BCC ⁵ Et celui qui reçoit en mon nom un enfant comme celui-ci, c'est moi qu'il reçoit.

KJV ⁵ And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

BCC ⁶ Mais celui qui scandalisera un de ces petits qui croient en moi, mieux vaudrait pour lui qu'on lui suspende une meule à âne autour de cou et qu'on le précipite au fond de la mer.

KJV ⁶ But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

BCC ⁷ Malheur au monde à cause des scandales ! C'est une nécessité qu'il arrive des scandales ; mais malheur à l'homme par qui le scandale arrive !

KJV ⁷ Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

BCC ⁸ Si ta main ou ton pied est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-le et jette-le loin de toi : il vaut mieux pour toi entrer dans la vie manchot ou boiteux, que d'être jeté, ayant deux mains ou deux pieds, dans le feu éternel.

KJV ⁸ Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

BCC ⁹ Et si ton oeil est pour toi une occasion de chute, arrache-le et jette-le loin de toi ; il vaut mieux pour toi entrer borgne dans la vie, que d'être jeté, ayant deux yeux, dans la géhenne du feu.

KJV ⁹ And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

BCC ¹⁰ Prenez garde de mépriser aucun de ces petits, car je vous dis que leurs anges dans les cieux voient sans cesse la face de mon Père qui est dans les cieux.

KJV ¹⁰ Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

BCC ¹¹ Car le Fils de l'homme est venu sauver ce qui était perdu.

KJV ¹¹ For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

BCC ¹² Que vous en semble ? Si un homme a cent brebis, et qu'une d'elles vienne à s'égarer, ne laissera-t-il pas sur les montagnes les quatre-vingt-dix-neuf autres pour aller à la recherche de celle qui s'est égarée ?

KJV ¹² How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

BCC ¹³ Et s'il lui arrive de la retrouver, je vous le dis en vérité, il a plus de joie pour elle que pour les quatre-vingt-dix-neuf qui ne se sont pas égarées.

KJV ¹³ And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

BCC ¹⁴ De même, n'est-ce pas la volonté de votre Père qui est dans les cieux, qu'il ne se perde pas un seul de ces petits ?

KJV ¹⁴ Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

BCC ¹⁵ Si ton frère a péché contre toi, va reprends-le entre toi et lui seul ; s'il t'écoute, tu auras gagné ton frère.

KJV ¹⁵ Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

BCC ¹⁶ S'il ne t'écoute pas, prends avec toi encore une ou deux (personnes), afin que toute chose se décide sur la parole de deux ou trois témoins.

KJV ¹⁶ But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

BCC ¹⁷ S'il ne les écoute pas, dis-le à l'Eglise ; et s'il n'écoute pas même l'Eglise, qu'il soit pour toi comme le païen et le publicain.

KJV ¹⁷ And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

BCC ¹⁸ En vérité, je vous le dis, tout ce que vous lierez sur la terre sera lié dans le ciel et tout ce que vous délierez sur la terre sera délié dans le ciel.

KJV ¹⁸ Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

BCC ¹⁹ Encore, en vérité, je vous le dis : Si deux d'entre vous sont d'accord pour demander sur terre une chose quelconque, ils l'obtiendront de mon Père qui est dans les cieux.

KJV ¹⁹ Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

BCC ²⁰ Car où deux ou trois sont assemblés en mon nom, je suis là au milieu d'eux.

KJV ²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

BCC ²¹ Alors Pierre s'approchant lui dit : "Seigneur, si mon frère pèche contre moi, combien de fois lui pardonnerai-je ? Jusqu'à sept fois ?"

KJV ²¹ Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

BCC ²² Jésus lui dit : "Je ne te dis pas jusqu'à sept fois, mais jusqu'à septante fois sept fois.

KJV ²² Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

BCC ²³ C'est pourquoi le royaume des cieux est semblable à un roi qui voulu régler ses comptes avec ses serviteurs.

KJV ²³ Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

BCC ²⁴ Quand il se mit à régler les comptes, on lui amena un débiteur de dix mille talents.

KJV ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

BCC ²⁵ Comme il n'avait pas de quoi payer, son maître ordonna qu'on le vendît, lui, sa femme, ses enfants et tout ce qu'il avait pour que paiement fût fait.

KJV ²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

BCC ²⁶ Alors le serviteur, tombé à ses pieds, demeurait prosterné, disant : "Seigneur, aie patience envers moi, et je te paierai tout."

KJV ²⁶ The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

BCC ²⁷ Touché de compassion, le maître de ce serviteur le laissa aller et lui remit sa dette.

KJV ²⁷ Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

BCC ²⁸ Ce serviteur, à peine sorti, rencontra un de ses compagnons de service, qui lui devait cent deniers. L'ayant saisi à la gorge, il l'étouffait, disant : "paie ce que tu dois."

KJV ²⁸ But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

BCC ²⁹ Son compagnon de service, tombé à ses pieds, le suppliait, disant : " Aie patience envers moi, et je te paierai."

KJV ²⁹ And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

BCC ³⁰ Mai lui ne voulait pas, et il s'en alla le faire mettre en prison jusqu'à ce qu'il eût payé sa dette.

KJV ³⁰ And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

BCC ³¹ Ce que voyant, ses compagnons de service furent grandement contristés, et ils vinrent raconter à leur maître ce qui s'était passé.

KJV ³¹ So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

BCC ³² Alors le maître le fit appeler et lui dit : "serviteur méchant, je t'ai remis toute cette dette, parce que tu m'as supplié.

KJV ³² Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

BCC ³³ Ne devais-tu pas, toi aussi, avoir pitié de ton compagnon de service, comme moi-même j'ai eu pitié de toi ?"

KJV ³³ Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

BCC ³⁴ Et son maître irrité le livra aux bourreaux, jusqu'à ce qu'il eût payé toute sa dette.

KJV ³⁴ And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

BCC ³⁵ Ainsi vous traitera mon Père céleste, si chacun de vous ne pardonne à son frère du fond du coeur."

KJV ³⁵ So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
