²³ C'est pourquoi le royaume des cieux est semblable à un roi qui voulut faire rendre compte à ses serviteurs. ²⁴ Quand il eut commencé à compter, on lui en amena un qui devait dix mille talents ; ²⁵ et comme il n'avait pas de quoi payer, son seigneur commanda qu'il fût vendu, lui et sa femme et ses enfants et tout ce qu'il avait, et que la dette fût payée.

²³ Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. ²⁴ And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. ²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
