KJV ²³ The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,

S21 ²³ Le même jour, les sadducéens, qui disent qu'il n'y a pas de résurrection, vinrent trouver Jésus et lui posèrent cette question:

KJV ²⁴ Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

S21 ²⁴ «Maître, Moïse a dit: Si quelqu'un meurt sans enfants, son frère épousera la veuve et donnera une descendance à son frère. 

KJV ²⁵ Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

S21 ²⁵ Or, il y avait parmi nous sept frères. Le premier s'est marié et est mort et, comme il n'avait pas d'enfants, il a laissé sa femme à son frère.

KJV ²⁶ Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

S21 ²⁶ Il en est allé de même pour le deuxième, puis le troisième, et ce jusqu'au septième.

KJV ²⁷ And last of all the woman died also.

S21 ²⁷ Après eux tous, la femme est morte [aussi].

KJV ²⁸ Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

S21 ²⁸ A la résurrection, duquel des sept sera-t-elle donc la femme? En effet, tous l'ont épousée.»

KJV ²⁹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

S21 ²⁹ Jésus leur répondit: «Vous êtes dans l'erreur parce que vous ne connaissez ni les Ecritures, ni la puissance de Dieu.

KJV ³⁰ For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

S21 ³⁰ En effet, à la résurrection, les hommes et les femmes ne se marieront pas, mais ils seront comme les anges de Dieu dans le ciel.

KJV ³¹ But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

S21 ³¹ En ce qui concerne la résurrection des morts, n'avez-vous pas lu ce que Dieu vous a dit:

KJV ³² I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

S21 ³² Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob ? Dieu n'est pas le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants.»

KJV ³³ And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

S21 ³³ La foule qui écoutait fut frappée par l'enseignement de Jésus.

KJV ³⁴ But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

S21 ³⁴ Les pharisiens apprirent qu'il avait réduit au silence les sadducéens. Ils se rassemblèrent

KJV ³⁵ Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

S21 ³⁵ et l'un d'eux, professeur de la loi, lui posa cette question pour le mettre à l'épreuve:

KJV ³⁶ Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

S21 ³⁶ «Maître, quel est le plus grand commandement de la loi?»

KJV ³⁷ Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

S21 ³⁷ Jésus lui répondit: «Tu aimeras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme et de toute ta pensée. 

KJV ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment.

S21 ³⁸ C'est le premier commandement et le plus grand.

KJV ³⁹ And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

S21 ³⁹ Et voici le deuxième, qui lui est semblable: Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. 

KJV ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

S21 ⁴⁰ De ces deux commandements dépendent toute la loi et les prophètes.»

KJV ⁴¹ While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

S21 ⁴¹ Comme les pharisiens se trouvaient rassemblés, Jésus les interrogea

KJV ⁴² Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.

S21 ⁴² en ces termes: «Que pensez-vous du Messie? De qui est-il le fils?»
Ils lui répondirent: «De David.»

KJV ⁴³ He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

S21 ⁴³ Et Jésus leur dit: «Comment donc David, animé par l'Esprit, peut-il l'appeler Seigneur lorsqu'il dit:

KJV ⁴⁴ The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

S21 ⁴⁴ Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: ‘Assieds-toi à ma droite jusqu'à ce que j'aie fait de tes ennemis ton marchepied' ?

KJV ⁴⁵ If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

S21 ⁴⁵ Si donc David l'appelle Seigneur, comment peut-il être son fils?»

KJV ⁴⁶ And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

S21 ⁴⁶ Aucun ne put lui répondre un mot. Et, depuis ce jour, personne n'osa plus lui poser de questions.
