BAN ² Vous savez que la Pâque a lieu dans deux jours, et le fils de l'homme est livré pour être crucifié. et l'ayant lié, ils l'emmenèrent, et le livrèrent à Pilate, le gouverneur.

KJV ² Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

BAN ³ Alors les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens du peuple s'assemblèrent dans le palais du souverain sacrificateur, nommé Caïphe,

KJV ³ Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

BAN ⁴ et délibérèrent ensemble de se saisir de Jésus par ruse, et de le faire mourir.

KJV ⁴ And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

BAN ⁵ Mais ils disaient : Que ce ne soit pas pendant la fête, de peur qu'il n'y ait du tumulte parmi le peuple.

KJV ⁵ But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

BAN ⁶ Et Jésus étant à Béthanie, dans la maison de Simon le lépreux,

KJV ⁶ Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

BAN ⁷ une femme s'approcha de lui, ayant un vase d'albâtre plein d'un parfum de grand prix, et elle le répandit sur sa tête pendant qu'il était à table.

KJV ⁷ There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

BAN ⁸ Or les disciples voyant cela, en furent indignés, et dirent : Pourquoi cette perte ?

KJV ⁸ But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

BAN ⁹ Car cela pouvait être vendu bien cher, et donné aux pauvres.

KJV ⁹ For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

BAN ¹⁰ Mais Jésus le sachant, leur dit : Pourquoi faites-vous de la peine à cette femme ? Car c'est une bonne oeuvre qu'elle a faite à mon égard.

KJV ¹⁰ When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

BAN ¹¹ Car vous avez toujours les pauvres avec vous ; mais moi, vous ne m'avez pas toujours.

KJV ¹¹ For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

BAN ¹² Car en répandant ce parfum sur mon corps, elle a agi en vue de ma sépulture.

KJV ¹² For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

BAN ¹³ En vérité je vous le dis, en quelque endroit que cet Evangile du royaume soit prêché dans le monde entier, ce qu'elle a fait sera aussi raconté en mémoire d'elle.

KJV ¹³ Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

BAN ¹⁴ Alors l'un des douze, appelé Judas Iscariot, s'en étant allé vers les principaux sacrificateurs,

KJV ¹⁴ Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

BAN ¹⁵ leur dit : Que voulez-vous me donner, et je vous le livrerai ? Et ils lui payèrent trente pièces d'argent.

KJV ¹⁵ And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

BAN ¹⁶ Et dès lors il cherchait une occasion favorable pour le livrer.

KJV ¹⁶ And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

BAN ¹⁷ Or, le premier jour des pains sans levain, les disciples s'approchèrent de Jésus, en disant : Où veux-tu que nous te préparions le repas de la Pâque ?

KJV ¹⁷ Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

BAN ¹⁸ Et il dit : Allez dans la ville chez un tel, et dites-lui : Le Maître dit : Mon temps est proche ; c'est chez toi que je fais la Pâque avec mes disciples.

KJV ¹⁸ And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

BAN ¹⁹ Et les disciples firent comme Jésus leur avait ordonné et ils préparèrent la Pâque.

KJV ¹⁹ And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

BAN ²⁰ Et le soir venu, il se mit à table avec les douze disciples.

KJV ²⁰ Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

BAN ²¹ Et comme ils mangeaient, il dit : En vérité, je vous dis que l'un de vous me livrera.

KJV ²¹ And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

BAN ²² Et, fort attristés, ils se mirent chacun d'eux à lui dire : Seigneur, est-ce moi ?

KJV ²² And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

BAN ²³ Mais répondant, il dit : Celui qui a mis la main dans le plat avec moi, c'est celui qui me livrera.

KJV ²³ And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

BAN ²⁴ Quant au fils de l'homme, il s'en va, selon qu'il est écrit de lui ; mais malheur à cet homme par qui le fils de l'homme est livré ! il eût été bon pour cet homme-là qu'il ne fût pas né.

KJV ²⁴ The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

BAN ²⁵ Et Judas, qui le livrait, répondant, dit : Est-ce moi, Rabbi ? lui dit : Tu l'as dit.

KJV ²⁵ Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

BAN ²⁶ Et comme ils mangeaient, Jésus, ayant pris du pain et prononcé une bénédiction, le rompit, et le donnant à ses disciples, il dit : Prenez, mangez, ceci est mon corps.

KJV ²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

BAN ²⁸ car ceci est mon sang, le sang de l'alliance, lequel est répandu pour plusieurs pour la rémission des péchés.

KJV ²⁸ For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

BAN ²⁹ Or je vous le dis, je ne boirai point désormais de ce produit de la vigne, jusqu'à ce jour où je le boirai nouveau avec vous dans le royaume de mon Père.

KJV ²⁹ But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

BAN ³⁰ Et après qu'ils eurent chanté les cantiques, ils sortirent pour aller à la montagne des Oliviers.

KJV ³⁰ And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

BAN ³¹ Alors Jésus leur dit : Pour vous tous, je serai cette nuit une occasion de chute ; car il est écrit : Je frapperai le berger, et les brebis du troupeau seront dispersées.

KJV ³¹ Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

BAN ³² Mais après que je serai ressuscité, je vous précéderai en Galilée.

KJV ³² But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

BAN ³³ Mais Pierre répondant, lui dit : Quand tu serais pour tous une occasion de chute, tu ne le seras jamais pour moi.

KJV ³³ Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

BAN ³⁴ Jésus lui dit : En vérité je te dis que cette nuit même, avant que le coq ait chanté, tu me renieras trois fois.

KJV ³⁴ Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

BAN ³⁵ Pierre lui dit : Quand même il me faudrait mourir avec toi, je ne te renierai point. Et tous les disciples dirent la même chose.

KJV ³⁵ Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

BAN ³⁶ Alors Jésus se rend avec eux dans un lieu appelé Gethsémané, et il dit aux disciples : Asseyez-vous ici, jusqu'à ce que m'en étant allé là, j'aie prié.

KJV ³⁶ Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

BAN ³⁷ Et ayant pris avec lui Pierre et les deux fils de Zébédée, il commença à être attristé et dans l'angoisse.

KJV ³⁷ And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

BAN ³⁹ Et étant allé un peu plus avant, il se prosterna, priant et disant : Mon Père, s'il est possible, que cette coupe passe loin de moi ! Toutefois, non pas comme je veux, mais comme tu veux.

KJV ³⁹ And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

BAN ⁴⁰ Et il vient vers les disciples et les trouve endormis ; et il dit à Pierre : Ainsi, vous n'avez pas pu veiller une heure avec moi !

KJV ⁴⁰ And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

BAN ⁴¹ Veillez et priez, afin que vous n'entriez pas en tentation ; l'esprit est prompt, mais la chair est faible.

KJV ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

BAN ⁴² Il s'en alla encore pour la seconde fois, et pria, disant : Mon Père, s'il n'est pas possible que cette coupe passe sans que je la boive, que ta volonté soit faite !

KJV ⁴² He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

BAN ⁴³ Et étant revenu, il les trouva encore endormis ; car leurs yeux étaient appesantis.

KJV ⁴³ And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

BAN ⁴⁴ Et les ayant laissés, il s'en alla encore, et pria pour la troisième fois, disant la même parole.

KJV ⁴⁴ And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

BAN ⁴⁵ Alors il vient vers les disciples, et leur dit : Dormez désormais et reposez-vous ! Voici, l'heure approche, et le fils de l'homme est livré entre les mains des pécheurs.

KJV ⁴⁵ Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

BAN ⁴⁶ Levez-vous, allons ! voici, il approche celui qui me livre !

KJV ⁴⁶ Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

BAN ⁴⁷ Et comme il parlait encore, voici, Judas, l'un des douze, vint, et avec lui une grande foule armée d'épées et de bâtons, de la part des principaux sacrificateurs et des anciens du peuple.

KJV ⁴⁷ And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

BAN ⁴⁸ Or celui qui le livrait leur avait donné un signe, disant : Celui que j'embrasserai, c'est lui ; saisissez-le.

KJV ⁴⁸ Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

BAN ⁴⁹ Et aussitôt, s'approchant de Jésus, il lui dit : Salut, Rabbi ! Et il l'embrassa.

KJV ⁴⁹ And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

BAN ⁵⁰ Mais Jésus lui dit : Ami, pour quel sujet es-tu ici ? Alors, s'étant approchés, ils mirent les mains sur Jésus et le saisirent.

KJV ⁵⁰ And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

BAN ⁵¹ Et voici l'un de ceux qui étaient avec Jésus, ayant étendu la main, tira son épée, et, ayant frappé le serviteur du souverain sacrificateur, lui emporta l'oreille.

KJV ⁵¹ And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

BAN ⁵² Alors Jésus lui dit : Remets ton épée à sa place ; car tous ceux qui prendront l'épée périront par l'épée.

KJV ⁵² Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

BAN ⁵³ Ou bien, penses-tu que je ne puisse pas maintenant prier mon Père, et il me fournira plus de douze légions d'anges ?

KJV ⁵³ Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

BAN ⁵⁴ Comment donc s'accompliraient les Ecritures, qui disent qu'il doit en être ainsi ?

KJV ⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

BAN ⁵⁵ En ce moment-là, Jésus dit à la foule : Vous êtes sortis comme après un brigand avec des épées et des bâtons pour me prendre. Chaque jour j'étais assis enseignant dans le temple, et vous ne m'avez point saisi.

KJV ⁵⁵ In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

BAN ⁵⁶ Mais tout ceci est arrivé afin que les écrits des prophètes fussent accomplis. Alors tous les disciples, l'abandonnant, s'enfuirent.

KJV ⁵⁶ But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

BAN ⁵⁷ Mais ceux qui avaient saisi Jésus, l'emmenèrent chez Caïphe, le souverain sacrificateur, où les scribes et les anciens s'assemblèrent.

KJV ⁵⁷ And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

BAN ⁵⁸ Et Pierre le suivait de loin, jusqu'à la cour du souverain sacrificateur ; et y étant entré, il s'assit avec les huissiers, pour voir la fin.

KJV ⁵⁸ But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

BAN ⁵⁹ Or les principaux sacrificateurs et tout le sanhédrin cherchaient un faux témoignage contre Jésus, pour le faire mourir ;

KJV ⁵⁹ Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

BAN ⁶⁰ et ils n'en trouvèrent point, bien que plusieurs faux témoins se fussent présentés. Mais plus tard deux faux témoins s'étant présentés,

KJV ⁶⁰ But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

BAN ⁶¹ dirent : Celui-ci a dit : Je puis détruire le temple de Dieu et le rebâtir en trois jours.

KJV ⁶¹ And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

BAN ⁶² Et le souverain sacrificateur s'étant levé, lui dit : Ne réponds-tu rien ? Qu'est-ce que ceux-ci déposent contre toi ?

KJV ⁶² And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

BAN ⁶³ Mais Jésus gardait le silence. Et le souverain sacrificateur reprenant la parole, lui dit : Je t'adjure, par le Dieu vivant, de nous dire, si tu es le Christ, le Fils de Dieu.

KJV ⁶³ But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

BAN ⁶⁴ Jésus lui dit : Tu l'as dit ; en outre, je vous le dis, désormais vous verrez le fils de l'homme assis à la droite de la Puissance et venant sur les nuées du ciel.

KJV ⁶⁴ Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

BAN ⁶⁵ Alors le souverain sacrificateur déchira ses vêtements, en disant : Il a blasphémé ! qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoins ? Voici, vous avez maintenant entendu le blasphème. Que vous en semble ?

KJV ⁶⁵ Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

BAN ⁶⁶ Ils répondirent : Il mérite la mort !

KJV ⁶⁶ What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

BAN ⁶⁷ Alors ils lui, crachèrent au visage et le souffletèrent, et d'autres le frappèrent

KJV ⁶⁷ Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

BAN ⁶⁸ en disant : Prophétise-nous, Christ, qui est celui qui t'a frappé.

KJV ⁶⁸ Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

BAN ⁶⁹ Pierre cependant était assis dehors, dans la cour ; et une servante s'approcha de lui en disant : Toi aussi, tu étais avec Jésus le Galiléen.

KJV ⁶⁹ Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

BAN ⁷⁰ Mais il le nia devant tous, disant : Je ne sais ce que tu dis.

KJV ⁷⁰ But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

BAN ⁷¹ Et comme il sortait vers le porche, une autre le vit, et dit à ceux qui étaient là : Celui-ci était avec Jésus le Nazaréen.

KJV ⁷¹ And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

BAN ⁷² Et il le nia de nouveau avec serment : Je ne connais point cet homme.

KJV ⁷² And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

BAN ⁷³ Et peu après, ceux qui étaient là s'approchant, dirent à Pierre : Vraiment, toi aussi, tu es des leurs, car aussi ton langage te fait connaître.

KJV ⁷³ And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

BAN ⁷⁴ Alors il se mit à faire des imprécations et à jurer : Je ne connais point cet homme. Et aussitôt le coq chanta.

KJV ⁷⁴ Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

BAN ⁷⁵ Et Pierre se souvint de la parole de Jésus, qui lui avait dit : Avant que le coq ait chanté, tu me renieras trois fois. Et, étant sorti, il pleura amèrement.

KJV ⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

BAN ¹ Or, lorsque le matin fut venu, tous les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens du peuple tinrent conseil contre Jésus pour le faire mourir ;

KJV ¹ When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

BAN ² et l'ayant lié, ils l'emmenèrent, et le livrèrent à Pilate, le gouverneur.

KJV ² And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

BAN ³ Alors Judas, qui l'avait livré, voyant qu'il était condamné, se repentit, et rapporta les trente pièces d'argent aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux anciens,

KJV ³ Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

BAN ⁴ disant : J'ai péché en livrant un sang innocent. Mais ils dirent : Que nous importe ? tu y pourvoiras.

KJV ⁴ Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

BAN ⁵ Et, après avoir jeté les pièces d'argent dans le temple, il se retira, et s'en étant allé, il se pendit.

KJV ⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

BAN ⁶ Et les principaux sacrificateurs ayant pris les pièces d'argent, dirent : Il n'est pas permis de les mettre dans le trésor sacré, car c'est le prix du sang.

KJV ⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

BAN ⁷ Et ayant délibéré, ils en achetèrent le champ du potier, pour la sépulture des étrangers.

KJV ⁷ And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

BAN ⁸ C'est pourquoi ce champ-là a été appelé, jusqu'à aujourd'hui, le Champ du Sang.

KJV ⁸ Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

BAN ⁹ Alors s'accomplit ce qui avait été dit par Jérémie le prophète : Et ils ont pris les trente pièces d'argent, le prix de celui qui a été évalué et qu'ils ont évalué de la part des fils d'Israël ;

KJV ⁹ Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

BAN ¹⁰ et ils les ont données pour le champ du potier, comme le Seigneur me l'avait ordonné.

KJV ¹⁰ And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

BAN ¹¹ Or Jésus comparut devant le gouverneur, et le gouverneur l'interrogea, disant : Tu es le roi des Juifs ? Et Jésus lui dit : Tu le dis.

KJV ¹¹ And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

BAN ¹² Et comme il était accusé par les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens, il ne répondit rien.

KJV ¹² And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

BAN ¹³ Alors Pilate lui dit : N'entends-tu pas combien de choses ils témoignent contre toi ?

KJV ¹³ Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

BAN ¹⁴ Et il ne lui répondit sur aucune parole, de sorte que le gouverneur était fort étonné.

KJV ¹⁴ And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

BAN ¹⁵ Or à chaque fête, le gouverneur avait coutume de relâcher à la foule un prisonnier, celui qu'elle voulait.

KJV ¹⁵ Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

BAN ¹⁶ Or ils avaient alors un prisonnier fameux, nommé Barabbas.

KJV ¹⁶ And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

BAN ¹⁷ Comme ils étaient donc assemblés, Pilate leur dit : Lequel voulez-vous que je vous relâche : Barabbas, ou Jésus, qu'on appelle Christ ?

KJV ¹⁷ Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

BAN ¹⁸ Car il savait que c'était par envie qu'ils l'avaient livré.

KJV ¹⁸ For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

BAN ¹⁹ Et pendant qu'il était assis au tribunal, sa femme lui envoya dire : N'aie rien à faire avec ce juste, car j'ai beaucoup souffert aujourd'hui, en songe, à son sujet.

KJV ²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

BAN ²¹ Et le gouverneur, prenant la parole, leur dit : Lequel des deux voulez-vous que je vous relâche ? Et ils dirent : Barabbas.

KJV ²¹ The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

BAN ²² Pilate leur dit : Que ferai-je donc de Jésus qu'on appelle Christ ? Tous disent : Qu'il soit crucifié !

KJV ²² Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.

BAN ²³ Et le gouverneur leur dit : Quel mal a-t-il donc fait ? Mais ils criaient plus fort : Qu'il soit crucifié !

KJV ²³ And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

BAN ²⁴ Voyant donc qu'il ne gagnait rien, mais que le tumulte allait croissant, Pilate prit de l'eau et se lava les mains devant le peuple, en disant : Je suis innocent de ce sang ; vous y pourvoirez.

KJV ²⁴ When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

BAN ²⁵ Et tout le peuple répondit : Que son sang soit sur nous et sur nos enfants !

KJV ²⁵ Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

BAN ²⁶ Alors il leur relâcha Barabbas, et après avoir fait flageller Jésus, il le livra pour être crucifié.

KJV ²⁶ Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

BAN ²⁷ Alors les soldats du gouverneur ayant emmené Jésus au prétoire, assemblèrent autour de lui toute la cohorte.

KJV ²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.

BAN ²⁸ Et lui ayant ôté ses vêtements, ils le revêtirent d'un manteau d'écarlate ;

KJV ²⁸ And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

BAN ²⁹ et ayant tressé une couronne d'épines, ils la lui mirent sur la tête, et un roseau dans la main droite, et s'agenouillant devant lui, ils se moquaient de lui, en disant : Salut, roi des Juifs !

KJV ²⁹ And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

BAN ³⁰ Et crachant contre lui, ils prirent le roseau, et ils frappaient sur sa tête.

KJV ³⁰ And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

BAN ³¹ Et lorsqu'ils se furent moqués de lui, après lui avoir ôté le manteau, ils lui remirent ses vêtements, et ils l'emmenèrent pour le crucifier.

KJV ³¹ And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

BAN ³² Et comme ils sortaient, ils trouvèrent un homme de Cyrène, nommé Simon, qu'ils contraignirent de porter la croix de Jésus.

KJV ³² And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

BAN ³³ Et étant arrivés au lieu appelé Golgotha, ce qui signifie le lieu du Crâne,

KJV ³³ And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,

BAN ³⁴ ils lui donnèrent à boire du vin mêlé de fiel ; et quand il en eut goûté, il n'en voulut pas boire.

KJV ³⁴ They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

BAN ³⁵ Et après l'avoir crucifié, ils partagèrent ses vêtements, en jetant le sort.

KJV ³⁵ And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

BAN ³⁶ Et s'étant assis, ils le gardaient là.

KJV ³⁶ And sitting down they watched him there;

BAN ³⁷ Et l'on mit au-dessus de sa tête le sujet de sa condamnation écrit : Celui-ci Est Jésus, Le Roi Des Juifs.

KJV ³⁷ And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

BAN ³⁸ Alors sont crucifiés avec lui deux brigands, l'un à droite, et l'autre à gauche.

KJV ³⁸ Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

BAN ³⁹ Et ceux qui passaient l'injuriaient, secouant la tête,

KJV ³⁹ And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

BAN ⁴⁰ et disant : Toi qui détruis le temple, et qui le rebâtis en trois jours, sauve-toi toi-même, si tu es le Fils de Dieu, et descends de la croix !

KJV ⁴⁰ And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

BAN ⁴¹ De même aussi les principaux sacrificateurs, avec les scribes et les anciens, disaient en se moquant :

KJV ⁴¹ Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

BAN ⁴² Il a sauvé les autres, et il ne peut se sauver lui-même ! Il est le roi d'Israël ! qu'il descende maintenant de la croix, et nous croirons en lui !

KJV ⁴² He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

BAN ⁴³ Il s'est confié en Dieu ; que Dieu le délivre maintenant, s'il l'aime ! car il a dit : Je suis le Fils de Dieu.

KJV ⁴³ He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

BAN ⁴⁴ Et les brigands aussi qui étaient avec lui l'outrageaient de la même manière.

KJV ⁴⁴ The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

BAN ⁴⁵ Or depuis la sixième heure il y eut des ténèbres sur toute la terre, jusqu'à la neuvième heure.

KJV ⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

BAN ⁴⁶ Et environ la neuvième heure, Jésus s'écria d'une voix forte, disant : Eli, Eli, lamma sabachthani ? C'est-à-dire : Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné ?

KJV ⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

BAN ⁴⁷ Et quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient présents, l'ayant entendu, disaient : Il appelle Elie, celui-ci !

KJV ⁴⁷ Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

BAN ⁴⁸ Et aussitôt l'un d'entre eux courut et prit une éponge, et l'ayant remplie de vinaigre et mise au bout d'un roseau, il lui donna à boire.

KJV ⁴⁸ And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

BAN ⁴⁹ Et les autres disaient : Laisse ; voyons si Elie vient le délivrer.

KJV ⁴⁹ The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

BAN ⁵⁰ Et Jésus ayant de nouveau poussé un grand cri, rendit l'esprit.

KJV ⁵⁰ Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

BAN ⁵¹ Et voici, le voile du temple se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu'en bas ; et la terre trembla, et les rochers se fendirent,

KJV ⁵¹ And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

BAN ⁵² et les sépulcres s'ouvrirent, et plusieurs corps des saints qui étaient morts ressuscitèrent ;

KJV ⁵² And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

BAN ⁵³ et étant sortis de leurs sépulcres, ils entrèrent dans la sainte cité, après sa résurrection, et ils apparurent à plusieurs personnes.

KJV ⁵³ And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

BAN ⁵⁴ Et le centenier et ceux qui gardaient Jésus avec lui, ayant vu le tremblement de terre et ce qui arrivait, furent fort effrayés, et dirent : Véritablement cet homme était Fils de Dieu.

KJV ⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

BAN ⁵⁵ Or il y avait là plusieurs femmes, regardant de loin, qui avaient suivi Jésus de la Galilée, en le servant ;

KJV ⁵⁵ And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

BAN ⁵⁶ entre lesquelles étaient Marie de Magdala, et Marie, mère de Jacques et de Joseph, et la mère des fils de Zébédée.

KJV ⁵⁶ Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.

BAN ⁵⁷ Or le soir étant venu, arriva un homme riche, nommé Joseph, qui était d'Arimathée, et qui était lui aussi disciple de Jésus.

KJV ⁵⁷ When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

BAN ⁵⁸ Cet homme s'étant rendu auprès de Pilate, demanda le corps de Jésus. Alors Pilate commanda qu'on le lui donnât.

KJV ⁵⁸ He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

BAN ⁵⁹ Et Joseph, ayant pris le corps, l'enveloppa dans un linceul pur.

KJV ⁵⁹ And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

BAN ⁶⁰ et le déposa dans son propre sépulcre neuf, qu'il avait fait tailler dans le roc ; et ayant roulé une grande pierre à l'entrée du sépulcre, il s'en alla.

KJV ⁶⁰ And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

BAN ⁶¹ Or Marie-Magdelaine et l'autre Marie étaient là assises vis-à-vis du sépulcre.

KJV ⁶¹ And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

BAN ⁶² Mais le lendemain, qui était le jour après la préparation, les principaux sacrificateurs et les pharisiens s'assemblèrent auprès de Pilate,

KJV ⁶² Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

BAN ⁶³ et lui dirent : Seigneur, nous nous sommes souvenus que cet imposteur, quand il vivait, disait : Dans trois jours je ressusciterai.

KJV ⁶³ Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

BAN ⁶⁴ Commande donc que le sépulcre soit gardé sûrement jusqu'au troisième jour ; de peur que ses disciples ne viennent le dérober et qu'ils ne disent au peuple : Il est ressuscité des morts. Et la dernière imposture sera pire que la première.

KJV ⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

BAN ⁶⁵ Mais Pilate leur dit : Vous avez une garde ; allez, et faites-le garder comme vous l'entendrez.

KJV ⁶⁵ Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

BAN ⁶⁶ Eux donc, s'en étant allés, s'assurèrent du sépulcre au moyen de la garde, après avoir scellé la pierre.

KJV ⁶⁶ So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

BAN ¹ Or comme le sabbat finissait et que le premier jour de la semaine commençait à luire, Marie-Magdelaine et l'autre Marie vinrent pour voir le sépulcre.

KJV ¹ In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

BAN ² Et voici il se fit un grand tremblement de terre ; car un ange du Seigneur, étant descendu du ciel et s'étant approché, roula la pierre, et il se tenait assis dessus.

KJV ² And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

BAN ³ Or son aspect était comme un éclair, et son vêtement, blanc comme la neige ;

KJV ³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

BAN ⁴ et de la frayeur qu'ils en eurent, les gardes furent tout tremblants, et devinrent comme morts.

KJV ⁴ And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

BAN ⁵ Mais l'ange, prenant la parole, dit aux femmes : Vous, ne craignez point ; car je sais que vous cherchez Jésus qui a été crucifié.

KJV ⁵ And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

BAN ⁶ Il n'est pas ici ; car il est ressuscité, comme il l'a dit. Venez, voyez le lieu où il était couché ;

KJV ⁶ He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

BAN ⁷ et allez promptement dire à ses disciples qu'il est ressuscité des morts. Et voici, il vous précède en Galilée ; c'est là que vous le verrez. Voici, je vous l'ai dit.

KJV ⁷ And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

BAN ⁸ Et étant sorties promptement du sépulcre, avec crainte et avec une grande joie, elles coururent l'annoncer à ses disciples.

KJV ⁸ And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

BAN ⁹ Et voici, Jésus vint au-devant d'elles, en disant : Salut ! Et elles, s'approchant, saisirent ses pieds et l'adorèrent.

KJV ⁹ And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

BAN ¹⁰ Alors Jésus leur dit : Ne craignez point ; allez et annoncez cette nouvelle à mes frères, afin qu'ils s'en aillent en Galilée, et c'est là qu'ils me verront.

KJV ¹⁰ Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

BAN ¹¹ Or pendant qu'elles étaient en chemin, voici quelques-uns de la garde vinrent à la ville et rapportèrent aux principaux sacrificateurs tout ce qui était arrivé.

KJV ¹¹ Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

BAN ¹² Alors s'étant assemblés avec les anciens et ayant tenu conseil, ils donnèrent aux soldats une forte somme d'argent,

KJV ¹² And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

BAN ¹³ en disant : Dites : Ses disciples sont venus de nuit et l'ont dérobé pendant que nous dormions.

KJV ¹³ Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

BAN ¹⁴ Et si cela vient à la connaissance du gouverneur, nous l'apaiserons et nous vous tirerons de peine.

KJV ¹⁴ And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

BAN ¹⁵ Eux donc, ayant pris l'argent, firent comme ils avaient été instruits. Et ce bruit a été répandu parmi les Juifs jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

KJV ¹⁵ So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

BAN ¹⁶ Or les onze disciples s'en allèrent en Galilée, sur la montagne où Jésus leur avait ordonné d'aller.

KJV ¹⁶ Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

BAN ¹⁷ Et le voyant, ils l'adorèrent ; mais quelques-uns doutèrent.

KJV ¹⁷ And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

BAN ¹⁸ Et Jésus, s'approchant, leur parla, disant : Tout pouvoir m'a été donné dans le ciel et sur la terre.

KJV ¹⁸ And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

BAN ¹⁹ Allez, instruisez toutes les nations, les baptisant au nom du Père et du Fils et du Saint-Esprit,

KJV ¹⁹ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

BAN ²⁰ leur apprenant à garder tout ce que je vous ai commandé. Et voici, moi, je suis avec vous tous les jours jusqu'à la consommation du temps.

KJV ²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
